HEALTHYMAINEMOM's SparkPeople Blog HEALTHYMAINEMOM's Blog on SparkPeople, home of free diet plans and a healthy living community Slacking off this summer... As the weather warmed up I became too relaxed with regards to food tracking and eating in general. In the last several weeks I have been binge eating due to stress. I am going to try to ease myself back into tracking daily. I am expanding my daily calorie range to a high of 2000 so that I can just get used to tracking again, but still feel successful at the end of the day by reaching my calorie goals. Once I'm back int the groove then I will work on portion control etc.

Missed you ... Wed, 31 Aug 2011 14:39:57 EST A New Day Wow...its already the second week in May! I am thankful for spring because I love getting outside. It really helps me want to be fit and keep moving. So much daylight left after I'm done work for the it!

As far as what I'm eating and weight loss I have been maintaining. But even though my weight hasn't been going down, I am still making good choices for the most part. I just need to be a bit more consistent and things will starting moving down again.

My dear ... There will be lots of healthy vegetable choices with the meal. Hoping for a nice day so we can get outside and walk!

Happy Easter Spark friends! :)

453 450 452 126 451 449... Sat, 23 Apr 2011 18:21:21 EST Ate too much...yuck I went to lunch with co-workers and had a small salad and a cup of soup. It really wasn't enough. I started tearing into snacks afterwords like there was no tomorrow! Candy, nuts, 4 Biscotti! They were in the car for a trip I'm taking. I am so full and so bummed at my choices. If I'd had the grilled chicken sandwich on whole wheat I wouldn't have left the restaurant hungry and looking to binge. I didn't choose it because it came with delicious homemade chips. I hope I learned my lesson! Next ... Thu, 14 Apr 2011 15:00:02 EST Hot Yoga! I've done it three times now...loving it! I've tried two of the three types offered. Each class, when it really gets going, I think to myself 'not sure if I can make it the whole class'. My arms and neck get pretty tired with some of the poses. And I'm making very slow progress with the balance poses. I was pretty sore the next day after the first two vinyasa classes but last night I did the bikram style and I feel great today! My joints and muscles are not achy. It really feels like a good w... Tue, 5 Apr 2011 09:15:55 EST Self Motivation The scale has not been kind to me lately. It's a bit frustrating. But... I HAVE been eating lots of good, healthy food and I HAVE been exercising regularly! I'm drinking my water and tracking all my food. Have got to pat myself on the back for that 244

Before spark I would have only been motivated by the scale...since spark I am motivated by a variety of factors. Much healthier! Wed, 30 Mar 2011 10:30:48 EST Tried 'Hot Yoga' today!!! I've practiced yoga off and on throughout the years. I've always enjoyed it and like how different instructors offer different experiences. Today I tried a hot yoga class in Brunswick, Maine... WOW! The yoga room is heated so your muscles stretch easier and you sweat more freely. I signed up for the beginner 30 day unlimited visits package. Can't wait to try all three types of classes that are offered. It was a good workout and I love being warm :)

</li... Sun, 27 Mar 2011 21:03:53 EST Mini-Binges Some evenings I get what I call 'calorie creep'. It's not a huge binge where I eat everything in sight uncontrollably. It's a semi-controlled mini-binge that puts me a few hundred calories over my goal. Still trying to figure out the why so I can figure out the best way to get it under control. Last night I came up with that I really liked that feeling of fullness without being overly full. Maybe I need to save more calories for dinner so I can fill up later in the day? It's a continually ch... Tue, 22 Mar 2011 09:46:52 EST Doubly Blessed I've been under some stress lately. Hoping things will swing back to good soon.

Anyway, last night I went to an Irish Pub to celebrate St. Patrick's day. Lot's of fun just to have some laughs and listen to good music in a jovial crowd. I didn't stay in my calorie range (I gave myself permision before hand) but I am now back in the groove again today.

And it got into the high 60's here and I had the day off today!!! Yeah Spring! I went on a 2 plus mile walk/jog and then ... Fri, 18 Mar 2011 18:32:07 EST Changed my Spark User Name Saw that so many people's user names reflect their journey so I decide to change mine. I'm a healthy woman, living in Maine, and a mother to my two wonderful teenagers. Healthy Maine Mom it is! I'm so excited to be down 20 pounds!!! Gotta keep the momentum going all through the spring...hoping for a healthy fun summer!!! Mon, 14 Mar 2011 15:59:44 EST Distracted The earthquake and tsunami in Japan are on my mind. I find it hard to concentrate when there is something 'big' going on in the world. Keep having to bring myself back to the here and now and get cracking on my workload. Very glad it's Friday!

p.s. ate a lot yesterday but also gave blood...the scale showed me as weighing less this morning. I will have to test this theory next time I give blood. Fri, 11 Mar 2011 14:01:36 EST A Bathing Suit Summer is my very favorite time of year! I love the beach, gardening, eating outside, hiking, being barefoot. I especially love the smells: fresh grass clippings, the smell of the pavement when rain firsts hits it, burgers on the grill, suntan lotion, and many more. What I don't like about summer is trying on bathing suits. I've started to look online at bathing suits for this year and I'm feeling a bit discouraged. The thought of going to try them on has brought me down a bit. 39 ... Tue, 8 Mar 2011 11:26:11 EST Healthier I know some people in my town that have been getting in shape and losing weight doing a "Biggest Loser" competition at a local martial arts studio. I was hesitant to try it because I was afraid the exercise (kickboxing) would be too rigorous. I'm also not sure how much it costs and I'm trying to keep my budget down.

By tracking my food here everyday and doing moderate exercise I am seeing comparable results!!! And even though I don't see the members of sparkpeople I'm still getting... Fri, 4 Mar 2011 09:03:25 EST
