Sun, 27 Dec 2015 22:00:22 EST Had a medical scare - and found out I have a lot of people in my life who love me The past couple of months have been a whirlwind. I had had pain in my hip for many months so my doctor ordered an X-ray. The radiologist reported that he saw a "neoplasm" (cancerous growth) in the L5 vertebra which he added was "probably metastatic". I didn't believe it at first, was in denial, but everyone's attitude toward me was concern, as they thought I had terminal bone marrow cancer.

Next I had a bone scan and the results showed density in the L5 vertebra and several ot... On my recent vacation, I read an excellent book titled "Chasing the Scream: The First and Last Days of the War on Drugs" by Johann Hari

As the name suggests, it is about drug addiction and drug dealing and how our current "war on drugs" is futile. He offers a better solution to our drug problem through decriminalization and legalization.

Although he was talking about drugs, I felt that some of what he wrote about "why people become addicted" applied to why people dri...
