Yip! I am not a strong swimmer and this year they shortened the swim course from 1/2 mile to 1/3 mile. That made it easier than in years past and I think the thought was that more women might participate with a shorter swim. The swim takes place in open water... Lake Washington... however it was calm out and the water wasn't very choppy. There were just under 1,000 participants total and w... Came in 15th in my division which is unreal (for me!). Made a new PR in 10k, 5k, 1mile and 1k so that was pretty cool also. My official time was 1:05:45 and 15th out of 45 in division. Overall place 686 out of 1372 and gender place 326 out of 822. Average pace 10:32. Do I have it in me to improve a little for next year? Well, maybe only 2 years in a row as I walked it 3 years ago. Over the past year, I have been running 2-3 times a week.. most weeks so I have built up my stamina. I wanted to run the 10k this year but ended running the 5k as I didn't have enough time to finish the 10k, get home and get showered and then be to work on time. I have done little cheesecake jellos in these before and they turned out really cute so wanted to give this a try.. and it worked beautifully! The cake mix is 12 servings so I used 12 jars... even had a little left over that I had to bake in another dish. I plan to serve these topped with a spritz of whipped cream, sliced strawberries and a drizzle of hersheys chocolate syrup. A beautiful fun dessert for less than 20...
