I finally broke down and tried some of the SparkPeople videos this week and they gave me a good workout. In fact, they seem to be more intense than what I have been doing at the gym. True, they may be targeting some areas that I was missing using the Nautilus machines, but I was impressed by how much a little 10 minute workout can do. I highly recommend them, plus now I don't have an excuse if I can't get out to the gym. I'm going ... Mon, 24 Jan 2011 13:08:40 EST Getting back to it http://www.sparkpeople.com/mypage_public_journal_individual.asp?blog_id=3930063 I survived the holidays and my birthday without gaining weight, but I didn't lose much either. I am 4 pounds over my projected loss line and that's a bit of a bummer. My wonderful son #1 went back to college today so that is also a bummer. I kind of got used to having him here for a month and now I'll have to get used to him being away again. But at least I have him in my life and he has given me so much. Isn't motherhood a wrenching experience? You love your kids so much and you deceive you... Sun, 16 Jan 2011 12:04:18 EST Shopping can be fun again! http://www.sparkpeople.com/mypage_public_journal_individual.asp?blog_id=3767447 This weekend I went to my favorite store to get some clothes. I was hoping I'd see some changes. YES! I fit easily into size 14 pants instead of the 16 or 1x that I had been wearing. 244 That was soooo rewarding! I am also beginning to see signs of the legs I knew were under there somewhere. It sort of feels like having an old friend back. So keep going. You CAN do it! Sun, 7 Nov 2010 09:12:58 EST Stress slip-up http://www.sparkpeople.com/mypage_public_journal_individual.asp?blog_id=3754213 I let the week's agenda get in the way of my progress. I had a stress-producing deadline-sensitive project this week and was too obsessed with it to mind my health and fitness goals. Unfortunately, when I feel super-stressed, I tend to try to find the least stimulating place I can (by myself with a book or under the covers). I think I need to learn another new trick = when stressed DO exercise! It would be a productive way to relieve stress more quickly and not leave me feeling bad about mis... Mon, 1 Nov 2010 13:00:03 EST Lousy fitness=lots of potential! http://www.sparkpeople.com/mypage_public_journal_individual.asp?blog_id=3736834 When I am at the gym I am constantly amazed at the range of fitness that is demonstrated there. From the 80 year old couple walking at 2 miles/hour, to me, to Lance Armstorng over there on the bike. I can't help but notice terribly out of shape I have become and how far I have to go on my journey to become a fit person. But instead of letting that discourage me, I just see the potential of who I can become, and know that I am working in the right direction. The improvements come slowly, but ... Sun, 24 Oct 2010 14:03:23 EST The Forrest Gump Challenge http://www.sparkpeople.com/mypage_public_journal_individual.asp?blog_id=3653994 This challenge is for anyone who wants to log enough miles to cross the U.S. (like Forrest did). Mileage in any form may be added, as long as it is self-propelled: walking, running, biking, swimming, etc. See if you can go the distance (3100 miles) across the country! Reward yourself with a piece of chocolate for every 100 miles. Good luck!

www.sparkpeople.com/myspark/messageb
oard.asp?imboard=8&imparent=21234254
Mon, 20 Sep 2010 07:10:07 EST
