The last 3 weeks have been terrible.

First I changed salons which is always stressful. I absolutely love my new salon by the way. I always felt something was off at the last salon. I just never felt very happy there, it wasn't a good vibe. It can be difficult to find the right salon, atmosphere, people, salon owner. Just don't stay where you are not fully happy. Fri, 16 Aug 2013 10:36:24 EST Tummy blog So yesterday I did a little ab work, it was hard. I felt like somebody had a band around the middle of my waist and holding me to the floor. I barely lifted my head and tried to come up and NOTHING. I could feel all the muscles go tight, like I was over stretching. Hard to explain that feeling but I notice it when I swim or lay on my belly. When I lay on my belly it feels like there is something under me, like I'm laying on a rope and I can't get comfy. Now my tummy has always been a problem ... Sun, 11 Aug 2013 11:34:15 EST Clean Bill of Health Well it's official. I'm free of all my health issues. I had my 6 week follow up appointment on July 2. My pap is normal again. I had to have my cervix frozen last year after a bad pap. Really scared me. On top of the cyst on my ovary. Plus they were concerned with a polyp in my uterus which wasn't there during the surgery? OK. So my cervix is fine, my cyst/ovary is gone and my uterus looked normal. Thu, 30 May 2013 13:02:29 EST 1 Week Post-Op WOW, I can't believe it has been 1 week already since my surgery. Physically this has been the hardest week of my life. I had no idea it would be this hard to walk and get around. I've really pushed myself and although the stairs are a killer, it does give me some great exercise. At first I was literally huffing and puffing each step and now I am pretty much using both legs to go up and down them. This is my first morning alone since the surgery and I made myself breakfast and carried my plat... Tue, 28 May 2013 10:07:26 EST SURGERY COMPLETE :) I'm home, still alive. They had me on a liquid diet yesterday so I'm finally eating solid foods and starving this evening. It's scary though because don't want to get anymore bloated.

I ended up having to have the abdominal surgery. The dermoid cyst was too big and they didn't want to risk any complications. Mon, 11 Oct 2010 09:43:25 EST Gluten Free Linguine I am happy to report on my Ancient Harvest Linguine. It is made with corn and quinoa and is Gluten Free. I was pleasantly surprised that I really couldn't tell any difference from regular pasta. I'm not a big pasta eater anyway unless it's Mac N Cheese. Of course now days that's a treat and not something I eat very often. Anyhow this is supposedly USDA Organic and is low fat, very low sodium, no cholesterol. Well I was doing pretty good until all the female issues started up this month. It's almost impossible to get a doctors appointment at any of the clinics around here without a 1- 2 week wait. By then if your still alive your over it, LOL. Which I waited 3 weeks to even try because I kept thinking it went away but then it would come back. I also took an over the counter UTI test which came back negative. I thought for sure that might had been the problem since I was having so much lower back p... Tue, 21 Sep 2010 09:20:40 EST Another Fire It started near the Kern Canyon and now it's moving it's way towards town. I'd say it's been going 4-5 days by now, not exactly sure when it started. I took a pic standing outside the salon yesterday. Yikes, it's starting to come over the hill. I heard they were close to evacuating Bodfish last night and the smoke there is really bad. I've not been to work yet today but I took this picture yesterday before leaving.

<img src=""... Wed, 15 Sep 2010 10:31:34 EST Medical Insurance So I finally applied for Medical Insurance for Jeff and I again. We are both self employed so it's something that we've needed to do for a long time. We've never really had medical insurance except briefly through one of his old employers. I tried to apply a couple years ago and which Jeff was denied (Blue Cross). I guess for having previous injuries because neither of us have in illnesses that we know of. I decided not to go with them after the whole ordeal and just put insurance on the back... Tue, 14 Sep 2010 09:41:52 EST Turbo Fire Hybrid WEEK 5 I'm going into Turbo Fire & Chalean Extreme Week 5. I've completed 8 weeks between Turbo Fire and the Extreme version. I had decided to switch to hybrid because I felt I was lacking in strength training. The first 3 weeks of hybrid was mostly Burn circuit with not really any Turbo Fire. The 4th week finally switched over to Turbo fire. I've not followed the plan to a "T" though since I'm going into my 3rd Week of C25K and before that I was including days of Zumba. I didn't think it would be so hard but the first 2 runs, especially the 2nd run was a struggle for me breathing wise. I felt like I was huffing and puffing. Today was my 3rd run and for some reason it was much better, a good run actually. I even kicked it up a notch on the last interval and I felt great today. So I am pushing on to next week. Oh and Ana is right there with me, my support and best part is she is doing it too.... Fri, 10 Sep 2010 20:25:20 EST Brownies- Gluten Free Another seal of approval from me on Pamela's products. These are made from her chocolate brownie mix (wheat-free & gluten-free). They turned out great and both my hubby and my Mom loved them. At first my hubby was acting scared to try them. The new ones just seem so much heavier and while great walking my soles literally start to ache when I run. I guess it will take some time to get adjusted. Aside from that I'm making it through the 60 second intervals, LOL. I think I need to stretch out before I go cause I feel really stiff starting the run off. I am doing the 5 minute warm up walk. Thu, 2 Sep 2010 22:51:15 EST MaraNatha I wanted to share my goodie find. I've been using this brand for my almond butter which replaces my peanut butter. Peanuts supposedly slow the thyroid and I don't need that so I try to avoid certain foods that do. I have grown fairly fond of my almond butter. I found this at Von's and then one day I could not find it and I FREAKED. What, how could they do that to me. And then thankfully it came back in stock. Fri, 27 Aug 2010 09:18:10 EST Pork & Peaches Here is the crock pot recipe I made yesterday, I doubled the recipe.

Well, I didn't think the recipe was all that great. I mean it was OK and it was good, when is pork not good? For me though it was just kind of ~bland~ I really thought it would be loaded with flavor but it was missing something. This got me thinking about how I have been feeling too and how I can totally relate. Spark has become way to time consuming. I think a lot has to do with us being leaders of our own teams. Instead of coming on spark and enjoying my time I'm DREADING it. All my jobs and responsibilities, I still haven't found time to check out the "clean eating" or "whole foods" team be...
