BF% http://www.sparkpeople.com/mypage_public_journal_individual.asp?blog_id=5102558 I have come to the conclusion that I want to be as lean as possible. I believe this is my next step in fitness. I would love to maintain a body fat % of 8% and hold it there. This is going to take alot of work over the winter and I am ready for it. We have a group starting up and plan on hitting it really hard. The area I need to work the most on is my core. I have been working on it, but really need to step it up. <BR> <BR> On a side note. My riding club at work has grown and am so happy ab... Once I get back from that I am startinng to train for a half marathon in Sept. This will be my first attempt at that kind of distance, but am looking forward to it. Temp was about 48 when we started the 5K. But it doesn't take long to warm up. And I like running in the cold weather better. I clocked in at 27:35 Very proud of myself since last week was my first 5K and I came in at 30:09 So I trimmed nearly 3 minutes from my time in one week.I maybe took to much tme in the transition zone, but I didn't want to take off to quickly. We had a stiff east windso the biking didn't go as well ... Sat, 17 Sep 2011 21:29:58 EST Canning Salsa http://www.sparkpeople.com/mypage_public_journal_individual.asp?blog_id=4451124 Well I am finally canning some salsa. I have soooo many peppers and tomatoes that I really had no choice but to do it today. Making three different one. One will be VERY hot and the others not so much. I will be the only one eating the hot stuff. The mango one I am doinng is sooooo good. Plus I am doinng a black bean and corn one as well. Will be a good job when all are canned. I'm always open to new recipes, so if you have any that you would like to share, PLEASE send them my way. Sat, 27 Aug 2011 11:15:14 EST Being fit...... http://www.sparkpeople.com/mypage_public_journal_individual.asp?blog_id=4314912 Since I started my journey to get fit I seem to be a happier person, I smile more, just lots of little things. It's nice going to work and have people comment on how good I look. Same old looks just a better body. Thought I would make that clear. I was asked to help with our health and wellness group at work, and that has since turned into our plant spokesperson. I think its an honor. I have started a riding group at work, and we meet twice a week to ride. I started out with 6 people and now ... Wed, 22 Jun 2011 08:24:25 EST Duathlon Training http://www.sparkpeople.com/mypage_public_journal_individual.asp?blog_id=4170094 Well I signed up for a duathlon this July. I am so excited about doing one of those. I will be curiuos to see just how well I do in it. It isn't long distances, but it is a start for me. I start off with a 1.2 mile run, then I do a 17.1 mile bike ride, which I know I will do well at, then I finish up with a 3.2 mile run. This running thing is all pretty new to me, but looking forward to doing it. 2 months is more than enough time to train for this, and if I like it I plan on doing more of th... Sat, 16 Apr 2011 15:14:53 EST The new me. http://www.sparkpeople.com/mypage_public_journal_individual.asp?blog_id=4136723 I finally got around to adding new pictures of myself. If you look at some of my other pictures you can really see a difference. It's been a long journey to get where I am today, But looking at the pictures it was well worth it. I have a few pounds to go to get to my goal, and then it is time to maintain where I have gotten to. Thanks for all the comment. But I got a new job offer and I must go where there is work. I have been out of work since January and there just isn't much money without work. But I plan on taking my healthy life style back with me. Everyone back home will be shocked when they see me now. So I will pack up a few things and drive back this week. Start my new job on Monday. Looking forward to working again, and having a steady paycheck again. I ... Tue, 22 Mar 2011 08:45:09 EST My first Blog http://www.sparkpeople.com/mypage_public_journal_individual.asp?blog_id=4108092 Well I have never done this before, so this is my first. I have been on a quest to get my weight down since Sept. of 2009. I have been training very hard and I am within reach of my goal weight now. I have been trying to get a body like a pro bike racer. I may not have that exact look but I think I am getting close. My starting weight was 191 pounds and I am down to 154 right now. 4 pounds away from my goal. I haven't been this lean since I was in my early 20's and that seems like a long time... Mon, 21 Mar 2011 17:45:07 EST
