GAILCAN's SparkPeople Blog GAILCAN's Blog on SparkPeople, home of free diet plans and a healthy living community I'm back! Why I left...
Hubby entered an essay to a gym who was looking for a few participants that needed to loose at least 50 pounds. Well... that was me. He wrote it in such great detail and honesty that I was one of 8 chosen. It turns out that it was a cross fit gym. The first day was awesome! It was a personal seminar with Robb Wolf! One of the Paleo gurus who, by the way, lives up the street in Reno!

Anyway... Hubby wrote the essay in October which was about the same time I star... Mon, 24 Feb 2014 00:32:02 EST A little progress update. So... this weekend Hubby and I rode our motorcycles to Napa. We did almost 500 miles and my butt hurt! But it's so worth it. Love riding through the mountains and all the turns and curves at 20 miles past the speed limit! So exhilarating. As we got to open road I had to stand on the bike to make it feel better. When we got to the gas station Hubby said he noticed while I was standing on the bike that by butt was smaller. I told him it was the cut of the jeans that I can fit in again. haha. La... Mon, 1 Oct 2012 22:04:59 EST No need to undo I lost 1/2 a pound! I'm only 5 pounds behind what my 'report' says I need to be at to get at my goal at the time I wanted to get to it. But I'm not sweating it. I'm over being ticked off about my non-loosing weight thing. And this is why...

I'm running with the C25K program and on my 5th week and finally feeling the great feeling I felt last year while running all the time. I know that the weight will eventually start dropping when it's time to. My main focus now is not only learn... Fri, 28 Sep 2012 12:48:17 EST Not letting the scale slow me down. I know we all have a weight we want to get at. Because of prior diets I've been on I have a habit of getting on that scale almost every morning. It hasn't budged in quite some time. I've picked up running again and loving it! I'm eating better and cooking lighter with the help of Spark Recipes. My pants are feeling a little looser and the Hubby says he notices that I'm loosing inches too. I'm OK with that. Sure it's disheartening to see that darn scale number stay the same. However, I also kn... Fri, 21 Sep 2012 23:54:53 EST So frustrating! This is so frustrating! Counting my calories, running and I'm just hovering on the scale! Aughhh! I know inches count but I haven't taken the measurements. I'm mainly going on the way my pants fit. Still not moving. On the plus side, I'm learning how to cook healthier with the recipes here. Just wish this weight would start dropping! I'm not giving up even though it would be easier to do. I really like running and I don't like this body I'm trapped in any more.

Here's to another ... Tue, 18 Sep 2012 01:04:35 EST Keep moving! There's something about running first thing in the morning just after a rain fall. The air is fresh. The sent is clean. Your mood is happy. Living in this desert you don't get this opportunity very often so when it does come, I could go 4-ever! Unfortunately my legs would beg to differ. I've completed my week 2 of my C25k training and it felt great! My shin splints are still sleeping and that allows me the motivation to get up in the morning and get out.

Hubby slept in this mornin... Thu, 6 Sep 2012 11:35:55 EST Get out of Bed! That's what I heard first thing this morning. That was my wake up call. My alarm didn't even go off yet!

It's my own fault.

I told hubby that I had signed up to do a 5k next month and he emediately wanted to know if I was planning to run in the mornings or after work. I said 'mornings'. During out conversation it was decided that he wasn't going to nicely and gently wake me up to see if I wanted to get running but he was to 'kick me out of bed'. Thank god he didn't tak... Tue, 4 Sep 2012 20:33:45 EST What happened? Today was my 2nd weigh in and I lost 0! Yep... 0 pounds! Aughhh! What happened?

As I looked back at my calories counted for the week, I noticed I did great! I maintained around 1200 per day. Then I looked at my glasses of water. Again, not bad. Oh... but wait... my exercise tracking... hmmm. Well, I guess I found my culprit. No one to blame but myself. I guess walking once in a while during my break times at work and running only once was not quite what was needed to help loose t... Sun, 2 Sep 2012 18:18:33 EST Finding the Mo Jo again... This weekend is considered a long weekend in the workforce. With Labor Day just around the corner what are your plans to do with your extra time? Yard work? Camping? Getting in an extra workout or 2 or just being lazy?

My plans are to find a new activity every day. I have swimming tickets to use at the community pool... I have to get to using them. I'm also trying to get back into the swing of things with my running schedule. I'll be running at least twice this weekend. I have a bi... Fri, 31 Aug 2012 13:56:53 EST Starting... again... Yesterday I actually got my lazy butt out of bed in the morning and took the dog for a run! It felt good to know that I actually did it. :) I do miss running and so does my mutt. He still hasn't forgotten how to run with me (not pulling , not stepping in front of me, not pooping during). Love him! No pain afterwards so I'm a happy camper! I plan on running every other day. I have also started to walk during my breaks at work. I'm trying to get back into the swing of things. I've accepted an ... Thu, 30 Aug 2012 11:55:38 EST Start of week 2... Today is day 1 of week 2 for me. I weighed in today hopping that I didn't gain any weight in the last 2 days and loose interest in my journey. My brain has just some how been trained to think that way. This is something I have to overcome. There would be no reason why I should have gained any weight except for the point that I had to weigh in to begin my week 2. I started at 202 last Sunday and this Sunday I weighed in at 199.5! I've been using recipes from this sight for dinner and enjoying ... Sun, 26 Aug 2012 12:43:56 EST It's so hard to change some habits When I was a young adult, I lost a lot of weight on the Scarsdale Diet. I loved it! However with having a child, my body changed. I am now allergic to most fresh vegetables and fruits so that diet can't work for me an longer. While on this diet, they train you to jump on that scale every day and make a log of your progress every day. You lost a lot of weight to see a difference almost every day because you ate a lot of fruit and fish. That's been 20 years of my mindset of jumping on that scal... Wed, 22 Aug 2012 14:38:56 EST In the beginning... Today is the day I made a decision to sign up with SparkPeople and take counting calories serious. I've also made a conscious decisions to be ok with only loosing up to 2 pounds per week. I've always felt that if I am going without a lot of the foods I like, I should see a huge loss. You know, the foods like Snickers, cookies, cake, bacon... I love to bake and it's a downfall to me. It seams like every time I begin a new adventure into losing weight, I start baking. Just tonight I made lemon ... Mon, 20 Aug 2012 01:35:35 EST
