We have been experiencing a problem with the electric in our Florida room for a week or two. I would go to do laundry and the washer would not work. I would come in the house and find the breaker had been tripped. Starting things over again

It has been a loooong 2 months (in fact a very long fall/winter) but today DH was released by his surgeon who put the pins in his hip. He is now allowed to put his full weight on his leg and walk with a cane for the next 3-4 weeks and then if he feels stable enough, he can go without it. He did not order any additional outpatient therapy but did suggest that he get into the pool and walk in the water and exercise in the pool to help strengthen the leg without putting a lot of stress on it. ...

Life is returning to "somewhat normal"

It has been an eternity (at least it seems like it has!) since DH's accident but we are beginning to see some light at the end of the tunnel. He has been able to get out of the cast first about 3 weeks after he broke the heel and into a boot and now the foot dr has said he can get out of the boot as the heel is practically healed. He will return in 6 weeks for final x-rays and if all is well at that time, he will be totally released by that dr.

I got to bring DH home from rehab today. I also had my 6 month dr appointment. Of course, today was the day she was running really late. I had a 9:30 appointment and she didn't come in to see me until 10:45! I had decided I was walking out at 11 as I needed to be at rehab. Of course, it was no rush since they fiddled around and didn't get the paperwork done nearly 1. I think that was so they could charge medicare for another day!!
I had wonderful results on my bloodwork-triglycerid...

Surgery Update

Surgery went well and DH now has 3 pins in his hip. Surgeon has said he is not going to be able to put weight on that leg for 6-8 weeks. His position was plan on it being 8 and if we get lucky maybe he can start bearing some weight sooner!
He spent from Friday night when he finally got admitted until about 3 PM on Tuesday when he was transferred to a rehab center. This is not the typical nursing home rehab-he has intense therapy for 3 hours every morning and 1 hr in the afternoons. H...

I haven't blogged for several weeks-how fast time is passing. I am glad we both are finally feeling better. My suggestion to everyone is GET A FLU SHOT if you have not already if you aren't allergic!!! Ok, that might have saved me but dr isn't sure! Sure is hard being so far away and trying to get information! DH called his son and neither he or his wife had heard anything early this afternoon and no one was answering Karen's phone. That was very frustrating!
Finally about 6PM our d-i-l called to give us an update. She had talked to DH's younger daughter who is at the hospital with Karen. Per Sharon, the blood work (enzyme test) was positive so she definitely has had a heart attack. They have done other tests and have ruled out...

Seems our family goes from one crisis to another. This evening a little before 10 we got a call from DH's older daughter, Karen, - she was in the ER and dr's believe she has had a heart attack and thinking she possibly has had more than one. Great news-Kindrid is home-the kids got to bring her home late Saturday evening. Even better news was that is was not the shunt but a really bad case of the flu. That poor child was put thru way too many tests by one dr but thankfully the kids stood firm and would not let them do the spinal tap. That is way too dangerous when there was only a 1% chance that this involved the shunt.
However, now my son has come down with the flu! He has been ill since about 1 am. He is hoping he gets...

I was hoping to have a calm fall but it looks like those hopes are dashed. DH went to see the orthopedic dr yesterday and he spent about 30 minutes with us going over his films and MRI results. He has 2 tears in the rotator cuff and the dr explained that it will not get better on it's own. He showed us the arthritis in his neck joints and explained that they could not know if the worst pain was coming from that or the tears. Things have been a bit crazy since we returned home. We have gotten the rv repaired, been to several doctor appointments, fought off bronchitis, pulled soooo many weeds, tried to get caught up on things around home and taken time to just relax and enjoy life.

Since I was last able to post pics and blog, we have traveled several miles. We have been to 3 different Corp. of Engineer campgrounds. We really enjoyed staying at Sugar Bottom near Iowa City, Iowa. We enjoyed a wonderful 3 days in Iowa City at Sugar Bottom Campground-Vicky & I enjoyed swimming in the lake and we just relaxed mostly and this morning we were off on the last leg of our journey to the rally in Forest City, Ia which was the reason for this trip!
We ran into rain about 30 min after we left and ran in it for about 90 min and it was really hard at times but no problems, we just slowed down and took it easy and it kept things cooler for us.

What a Trip So Far!!!

I happen to have Wi-Fi for a couple of days so will try to give all of you a glimpse into our adventures.
We got away on Fri by 9 am and got into our 1st stop at Chattahoochee by 3. We even got some gas for $2.99 before leaving Florida. It was much warmer up in the panhandle than we had been having - Debby had been keeping us cooler than normal-we had been having temps in the mid 80's during the day and 60's by nite so we were loving that.
