Do read and try to understand the deep meaning of it. They are like the ten commandments to follow in life all the time.

1. Prayer is not a "spare wheel" that you pull out when in trouble, but it is a "steering wheel" that directs the right path throughout.

2. So why is a car's windshield so large and the rear view mirror so small? Because our past is not as important as our future. So, look ahead and m... Fri, 23 Oct 2015 18:31:57 EST God laughs every time we plan a vacation Last spring (2014) we planned a long trip out west with friends but health issues for my DH and our one friend made us rethink that so we delayed our trip and this spring we decided that this fall would be the time for us to go so all summer we have been planning this nice long trip. For us, it is to be our 25th anniversary celebration (won't be till Nov. but don't want to go when the snow is flying!).
Well, we have been dealing with all kinds of issues for DH. Sat, 22 Aug 2015 20:15:11 EST Update I called and talked to Barb this evening and she has had her surgery and has a plate in her leg and is already back on Cape Cod in rehab! They told her they expect to have her out of there in a couple of weeks. She told me she is planning on being back before we leave but if not, her brother in law would enjoy Abbie. His wife (Barb's sister) passed away this spring and it would give him company. We would have to talk to him to see how he felt about this but if not, Little Abbie, that we c... Wed, 19 Aug 2015 20:53:58 EST Just when you think you have it all figured out We have been planning a 6-8 week trip for this fall and thought we had all of our bases covered. WRONG! We found out today that our dear friend who was to dog sit for Abbie fell yesterday while visiting family on Cape Cod and is now in Boston for surgery to repair her shattered leg! We don't think they will be back by the time we plan to leave so now we are scrambling to find someone else THAT WE TRUST to keep our little furbaby! Tue, 18 Aug 2015 16:54:19 EST Let's be Winners When ending a day you should never say “I could have”, “I should have”, or “I would have”. Sun, 9 Aug 2015 21:53:20 EST Sound Rules of Conduct for Any Age...
Some of you may not agree with some of these rules but hope they help open your eyes to some things. As we age, we get set in our ways and sometimes we need a fresh outlook. We have friends who are scared to spend a dime or their kids make them feel guilty if they do-well, I don't agree and it seems others don't either. I don't know who wrote these rules but they really are worth reading.

1. It's time to use the money you saved up. Use it and enjoy it. Don't just kee... Sat, 8 Aug 2015 15:59:09 EST Wake Up Call I have been walking pretty much most days for the last 3 years and thought I was eating healthy (at least most of the time) but my labs say otherwise. Went for my visit to my primary and instead of going down, my triglycerides had increased by almost 20 points and they are now over 200 (211). Dr. is talking about increasing my statin medicine but gave me till I return in December to get those numbers down. If I can up my exercise and improve on my eating I should be able to lower the numbe... Sat, 8 Aug 2015 14:53:12 EST Scams abound everywhere This past January, there was a lady set up in the VA office in our hometown and she was signing up the vets for a "free phone". I wasn't there with DH when he signed up but he and many of his friends who are vets did sign up and within a week they received their trac phone.
The lady told all of them that this was a special pilot program that the government was instituting in Fl, TX, NY and CA and they planned to roll it out across the US in the next year or so. Today while I was waiting for DH during his PT, I was reading Prevention and they were talking about a different diet approach where you do a modified fast every other day-limiting oneself to 500 calories every other day. I don't know that I could do that long term but it might be something to do to jump start the weight loss again. Normal weight loss doing this is approximately 2 lbs a week but it has been shown ... So in his wisdom God decreed that seniors would become forgetful that they would have to search for their glasses, keys and other things misplaced and so do some walking.

And God Looked down and saw that it was good.

Then God saw there was yet a need. So God in his wisdom made seniors lose coordination that they would drop things which would require them to bend and reach and stretch.

And God looked down ...
