Spring is a crazy time of year for me, it feels like I am always on the go. Unfortunately, I also tend to let things slide, like healthy habits. I've been training for a spring marathon, but doing little else in the way of cross training or strength training, and paid for it. I'm currently dealing with a strain in my hip flexor with a week to go until my 26.2. Finished January with about 103 miles and a 5 minute plank. I pulled out 30 miles the first full week of February toward my 100 mile goal for the month and have been maintaining a pretty good run schedule of 4-5 days/week. I really enjoyed the plank challenge, but I haven't started the push up challenge yet. I'm finding that I really need top add more strength, to that end, I'm planning to start doing double workouts again a few days a week. 30 da... It was a gorgeous day, so I ended up running 5 miles instead of 3 and I got to run with a friend, yay! Yesterday I was up at 4:30 to drive the 2 hours to Bethlehem, PA for the Runner's World Half Festival 5K. It was great! "Entertainment" that should never be watched So...after my run, and church and raking and errands today, I was vegging out with some tv. We ended up flipping to ABC's Extreme Weightloss. This show made me SO, SO angry!! This episode had a girl who started around 400 pounds, her ultimate goal was 150. Her "trainer" set a goal of 80 pounds for the first 90 days. Okay...a lot, but he worked with her one on one for the second half. She had a full gym in her basement and a pool in her backyard and took up running. (Great, I love runni... I have done yesterday and today's workouts, as well as tomorrow's Skinny jeans challenge workout (plan is to run 9 miles tomorrow, so I did the additional 10 min kickboxing to make up for yesterday.)
