It is certain for us all. Having victory over death seems impossible but it is not. The victory doesn't mean we will not one day die and leave this earth. The victory over death means will die and be transformed into bodies that will never die. When we know Jesus as our Savior and Lord, we will defeat death because He was crucified and died for us so that we may live. He died for all of us so that we may live. He took away every... Sat, 25 Jun 2016 07:36:16 EST Thought and Prayer for Friday, June 24, 2016 June 24, 2016 VICTORY OVER TEMPTATION

Everyone in this world has been tempted one way or another. Temptation comes in many forms. It could be as small as being tempted to eat a piece of cake when we don't need to. It could be as big as stealing or cheating or even worse. Despite the temptations we have, it is possible to have victory over them when we put our focus on God. Just as Jesus denied Satan when He was being tempted, so can we.

1 Corinthians 10:13 "The temptatio... Lack of confidence keeps people from getting things done. We can help others become more confident. We can show them how to be more confident by sharing God's word with them. We can teach them how to be stronger and bolder by drawing strength from God. We can remind them God has a plan for them and He is confident they can carry out that plan if only th... Thu, 23 Jun 2016 06:47:11 EST Thought and Prayer for Wednesday, June 22, 2016 June 22, 2016 VICTORY IN SUFFERING

No one likes to suffer. To suffer means we have to endure pain. No one likes pain. However, when we are suffering for doing what is right, we can have victory knowing it pleases God. When we suffer for being a follower of God, we can know we will be the victorious ones for living in obedience to Him. So when we are left out, mocked or even hurt for being a Christian, we should praise God knowing He is in control. And when we praise Him, we please ... It requires no extreme effort, no high skill and no difficult actions. How much easier could it be? However, if we want to endure and succeed in life, we need to be strong. We need to be focused. We need to be willing to do whatever it takes. God wants us to be strong, focused and willing. He can strengthen us with His power. He can strengthen us in our quiet times with Him. He can give us the strength to obey Him and to endure ... Tue, 21 Jun 2016 06:35:08 EST Thought and Prayer for Monday, June 20, 2016 June 20, 2016 SPIRITUAL VICTORY

There are some victories we can attain on our own. We may work hard and train to run a marathon. We may practice cooking daily to enter a recipe contest. We may relentlessly work at our goals to move ahead in our career. These, of course, are worldly victories. However, spiritual victory only comes from God. We have to do something to gain spiritual victory but we can't actually receive it without God. We have to go to Him, turn from our sins and bel... And when there is construction work when only one lane is open, it can really slow us down. Many decide to take alternate routes when they see traffic backed up. However, many stick to the straight path knowing they will make it eventually. Difficult roads are like life. Many stay away because they get frustrated. Many take alternate routes. Very few stick through until the end. God ... They may be stubborn and set in their ways. They may be mean and selfish. They may just want to be plain ornery at times. These people can be hard to live with, work with and serve; however, it is possible. It is possible for us to show kindness to these people despite how they treat us. It is possible with the strength and power from God to move us to treat them like we want to be treated.
<... It may have been our children, our health, finances, etc. Some of us voice our worries while others of us keep all our anxious thoughts inside. Silent worriers are probably a bit worse off than those who continue to voice their worries or concerns because they hold it all in. Either way, worry is not good for us. We can't win when we worry. We need to learn to focus on God and not on the ... Fri, 17 Jun 2016 06:54:33 EST Thought and Prayer for Thursday, June 16, 2016 June 16, 2016 A FIRM FOUNDATION

We know when we place something heavy on top of something that is not sturdy, it will soon fall. Sometimes we do it because we are in hurry or we just aren't thinking. Jesus tells us about shaky and firm foundations. He wants us to follow His teachings so we are building our lives on a firm foundation rather than a soft foundation. He wants us to live for Him by keeping our focus on Him and living in obedience to Him. With a firm foundation in Jesus,... Some feel success is having enough money in the bank. Some feel success is making it to the top in their career. Some feel success is family or health. However, God has another definition in mind. We have happy children. Things just seem to be going right. It is easy then to be content and happy. However, there are times when we are struggling. We may have health issues. We may have lost a job. We may have children who are going through hard times. No matter what time of life it is for us right now, we can have victory in contentment. We feel like things are just not changing and that time is standing still. However, we can have and celebrate the daily victories in our lives. There may be an area of our lives where we don't want to give it to God. It may be our finances. It may be our secret sins. It may be our weekends. Whatever it is, we aren't going to have victory until we give it up. Giving up the sin in our live and turning our lives over to God is what will help us have victory.

"Let go, and know that I a... Some of us spend all of our lives doing what we need to get them. We plan, save and talk about these things until we get them. Sometimes the desire to have more consumes us and it is all we think about. The more we have, the more we want. However, we need to remember they are only temporary. Without strengths, we can't really get progress as well as we would like in life. There are some things we are able to do because of our own strengths and some we can do only with the help of others. However, there are many things we can't do unless we completely depend on God. Depending on God's strength and having faith in Him means we are to give Him our worries, concern... If we aren't living an honorable life and being obedient to God, it's time we made the decision to turn away from our wrongdoings and ask God to forgive us. It's time we looked at our lives and decide to live as God wants us to. Then we can ask Him to bless us and expand our territory and use what God gives us to bless others and to glorify... Thu, 9 Jun 2016 06:41:16 EST Thought and Prayer for Wednesday, June 8, 2016 June 8, 2016 ETERNAL GAIN

Usually when we have victory over something, we gain something. It may be a new position at work, more money, a trophy, etc. Whatever the gain is, we have worked hard to attain it and the gain is the reward for our hard work. However, the Bible tells us to die is gain. How could we possible gain anything by dying? It is all related to what we are focused on. If we are focused on worldly things, we will see death as a loss because we can't take it with us. ... Sometimes the lack of action creates the failure. Other times sin causes us to fail. Whatever the reason, we will experience failure throughout our lifetime. We know how it feels to share openly, love unconditionally and always be by that person's side. If we have never been in a right relationship with anyone, we can start one today. We feel as if no one cares. We feel as if no one is on our side. We feel alone and desperate at times to do whatever it takes to fight back or feel better. Sin is all over the world. There is murder, theft, cheating...the list goes on and on. Sin began with Adam and Eve giving into temptation and it isn't over yet. Temptation comes from Satan but it is possible to resist him and win when we keep our focus on the cross. For our victory over sin, Jesus has done the work. Praying will help us focus on Him and depend on Him. Planning will help us know what options are out there. If we want to be healed, we need to recognize where we are hurting. All of us, at some point, have been hurt. Some of us deny it and attempt to cover it up. When we set goals and don't measure them, we easily lose track of how far we have gone from point A to B. When we don't put a time frame on them, they may never get done. Setting timely goals is important so we have a deadline to work toward. Measuring and rewarding ourselves along the way keeps us motivated.
