Feeling better about myself today. Fri, 20 Dec 2013 13:12:51 EST Peturbed http://www.sparkpeople.com/mypage_public_journal_individual.asp?blog_id=5567881 I've exercised 3 days total working on toward 300 calories lost and gain half a pound. What the heck? 234 I'm stiff, sore, and cannot seem to concentrate on my exercises today. I'm trying to alternate walking days and playing on the Wii. Perhaps a workout DVD instead. Thu, 19 Dec 2013 09:41:55 EST Photo Upgrade http://www.sparkpeople.com/mypage_public_journal_individual.asp?blog_id=5567229 I realized how old my photo was. I upgraded it to a picture taken of both myself and hubby at some new fad called photobooth which we had taken at my niece's wedding. Wed, 18 Dec 2013 11:50:37 EST Feeling Low http://www.sparkpeople.com/mypage_public_journal_individual.asp?blog_id=5565726 Lately my husband has been losing weight w/o even trying. Since he is losing the weight and I've been sort of hovering around the same as I've always been, he keeps on commenting on how I need to stop eating this or that and basically telling me that I'm fat. He did it last night at supper and it hurt my feelings. I didn't tell him so, but I did crankily retort to him that I eat no more than he and did not speak too much for him for the rest of the evening. I sort of ignored him at bedtime to... Mon, 16 Dec 2013 13:52:27 EST Hello http://www.sparkpeople.com/mypage_public_journal_individual.asp?blog_id=5286535 It has been a while since I have blogged something. Due to the ankle problems I was not exercising much each week but allowing it to heal. The pain is mostly gone with occasional pain due to bad weather coming now and again. It's ok. Arthritis is something that I have to learn to deal with. This week I joined a contest hosted by a local business called Molly's Lose Your Junk. For a $20.00 fee, you can enter and the one who loses the most weight wins the pot. I also am donating a prize to the ... Thu, 14 Mar 2013 12:34:20 EST Set a goal today http://www.sparkpeople.com/mypage_public_journal_individual.asp?blog_id=5248242 When I got on the treadmill and was viewing how many calories burned in 3 laps, I realized that I would have to walk 9 laps just to burn off 300 calories. So I did. Just before my last lap was over, an Avon customer called. I filled the order and then went and finished the lap and figured, "what the heck" I did another lap to make it a total of 2 1/2 miles walked. My mind was in the wrong set for a bit saying that I could not do it, but I ignored my thoughts today. I know I can do it, it's j... Tue, 12 Feb 2013 20:46:10 EST Ankle Problems and New Shoes http://www.sparkpeople.com/mypage_public_journal_individual.asp?blog_id=5244270 Well I went to the doctor yesterday and he looked at my ankle and opted not to X-ray it. He suggested new shoes with better arch support. So I went to the mall and checked out a few places, got my foot measured and discovered that I am wearing the wrong size shoes. I was wearing a 10W and I'm an 11W according to them. They brought out these "fugly" shoes called New Balance with a wider toe in it. I have to admit that my feet feel better but my feet look like Bigfoot's. I think I could of gone... Sat, 9 Feb 2013 18:07:22 EST Still Painful http://www.sparkpeople.com/mypage_public_journal_individual.asp?blog_id=5237950 Today I have decided to cancel my contract with CURVES until I know what in the heck is going on with my ankle. Since I have to let them know 30 days in advance, I guess I can stay on the meal plan until then. In the meantime, do Wii exercises that do not require too much walking or stepping. I also have that recumbent bike. I still have had no time to rest my ankle to allow healing time. The weekend was so busy and so was today with Avon deliveries and brochure passing out. I think I travele... Mon, 4 Feb 2013 22:34:05 EST What to do http://www.sparkpeople.com/mypage_public_journal_individual.asp?blog_id=5234777 Yesterday was the Say Yes to Avon event that I was supposed to attend. I stayed from 10 am-2pm talking to people about Avon and just getting to know them. I had a great time but my ankle paid for it again. I think it's the shoes I wear. They are dress shoes but Dr. Schols. I went to the chiropractor today to get the ankle worked on but I am not sure it's helping this time. It's pretty painful and I really have no time to put my leg up in the daytime to rest it as I had Avon stuff to sort out ... Sat, 2 Feb 2013 18:17:32 EST It Worked! http://www.sparkpeople.com/mypage_public_journal_individual.asp?blog_id=5229969 Yesterday's punishment to myself worked. The Wii Board today tells me that I weigh 261 lbs. Today, due to snow, I will not be going in to town but there is things to get done around the house here as my daughter is coming for the weekend. I'll keep busy starting now with feeding the outdoor wood furnace. 334 Wed, 30 Jan 2013 09:42:21 EST CURVES http://www.sparkpeople.com/mypage_public_journal_individual.asp?blog_id=5229211 Yesterday it was snowing real bad so I skipped going to CURVES for my weekly weigh-in. I weighed myself on the Wii Board and discovered that I weighed between 263 and 264 lbs. I thought that was good BUT I got hungry late in the night and ate some tuna salad. That raised my weight back up to 265 lbs for today's weigh-in. Today I made myself exercise as punishment for it. The CURVES circuit training which the manager made a mistake and put me & another woman in the Zumba class which is going a... Tue, 29 Jan 2013 19:15:05 EST Want to Do a Snoopy Dance http://www.sparkpeople.com/mypage_public_journal_individual.asp?blog_id=5225367 I only went to CURVES once last week. I tried going there Friday and Saturday but the open sign was off both times. My fault. I should remember the hours that they are open. Instead of CURVES I just went home and played with some of my exercise DVD's or walked on the treadmill.

I weighed myself this morning and I believe I achieved my goal of 8 pounds lost for the month and I still have a week of CURVES yet to do. I won't post on the ticker until CURVES weighs me tomorrow though. ... Sun, 27 Jan 2013 09:41:38 EST Awesome! http://www.sparkpeople.com/mypage_public_journal_individual.asp?blog_id=5218793 Well despite being a bad girl over the weekend, I did lose a pound for the week. I do have to up my fitness schedule, however if I want to reach my goal of 8 lbs lost in 1 month. So far 3 lbs. 5 to go and I have 2 weeks to do it. The challenge the curves coach gave me for this week is if I am watching TV, I have to get up during the commercials and move around, march in place, dance do something to add steps to my pedometer. Also I guess my cycling counts so I have to tell her what days I did... Tue, 22 Jan 2013 14:51:00 EST my day http://www.sparkpeople.com/mypage_public_journal_individual.asp?blog_id=5207223 I went to CURVES today to get my smart tag activated and also the weekly weigh-in. I lost 2 1/2 pounds. Due to the ankle giving me problems, I told them that I did not want to exercise right now to find out my range of motion for the smart tag. After CURVES, I went right up to the chiropractor to get adjusted. The adjusted the ankle and got 3 good clicks out of it. Upon driving home, I noticed that the pain felt like blood flowing back into certain areas. It's still painful, but I think I can... Mon, 14 Jan 2013 19:10:49 EST OW! http://www.sparkpeople.com/mypage_public_journal_individual.asp?blog_id=5205765 Yesterday I went up to Marshfield, WI to the ABATE of WI event, Early Times. I could only stay a couple of hours, however, as AVON had a event at the Mall on Ive's St. to attend. It was a Bridal expo and Avon paid for representatives to be there. I went there to help our district manager out and thought other representatives would be there helping out as well. Boy was I wrong. I, my district manager, and her daughter were the only ones representing Avon. I had fun but I paid for it. All the s... Sun, 13 Jan 2013 21:50:51 EST CURVES http://www.sparkpeople.com/mypage_public_journal_individual.asp?blog_id=5200307 This week I joined Curves. I really enjoy the exercise machines and the fact that you stay only about a minute on each station for a total of 30 minutes. What I do not like is their meal plan. What they suggest is beyond my budget. What I need is something like Spark people where you count the calories and the amount of food you eat each day. Thu, 10 Jan 2013 10:51:41 EST Catching Up http://www.sparkpeople.com/mypage_public_journal_individual.asp?blog_id=5179665 I know that I have not been on here for a while. I have sort of been bummed out. It seems every time I start exercising and feeling good about myself I injure my knee. The doctor took an x-ray and it turns out that I have arthritis w/ some fusion in it and she wanted me to go to physical therapy in order to try to ease some of the pain. 1: I cannot afford it. 2: I doubt it would do any good. I swam over the summer in my pool in the backyard and have been going to motels to swim the past coupl... Sat, 29 Dec 2012 10:05:28 EST Why? http://www.sparkpeople.com/mypage_public_journal_individual.asp?blog_id=4972849 I keep on falling off the diet and exercise wagon and I don't know why. I'm going to try to stick to it for a while for two reasons. One: Hubby is finally realizing that we've got to lose weight. Two: My sister got breast cancer and now I'm thinking that I want to do a 5 or 10K walk in order to get help for her. One of those cancer walks or just arrange to walk for charity in her name. Her cancer isn't bad, but still she'll be out of work for a while after surgery. Her husband is on disabilit... Mon, 16 Jul 2012 12:30:56 EST Something is changing http://www.sparkpeople.com/mypage_public_journal_individual.asp?blog_id=4505745 I wore a pair of pants that I could not wear for a while and they fit! Goodbye size 20 and Hello 18. Mon, 26 Sep 2011 21:51:55 EST Killing 2 Birds With One Stone http://www.sparkpeople.com/mypage_public_journal_individual.asp?blog_id=4497492 I walked on the treadmill today for the training for the 5K walk. Not only did I do my 30 minutes today, I thought "what the heck" do the required 2 miles too. I feel good. Wed, 21 Sep 2011 21:22:15 EST Campers http://www.sparkpeople.com/mypage_public_journal_individual.asp?blog_id=4494365 Well, I broke down and said I'd buy my folks camper. To pay for it and the useless farm equipment that my husband bought from them we'll be signing over some rent checks for the next year. My hubby said he wished that he could of looked at it and asked him first if I could buy it and I asked him if he asked me if he could buy the farm implements. Turn about is fair play, I always say. 20 Tue, 20 Sep 2011 08:52:58 EST The Weekend http://www.sparkpeople.com/mypage_public_journal_individual.asp?blog_id=4492446 We decided to go up and camp with some friends in the northern part of Wisconsin. It's hard to keep track of what you eat unless you have a journal with you, but I think I did pretty well. For exercise, we went camper shopping. I think we stopped at 5 or 6 places and explored the insides of many campers and did a lot of walking and step climbing. I have one in mind and now would be the time to buy it, but the hubby made the announcement that he had purchased one more useless 50-year old piece... Mon, 19 Sep 2011 09:28:07 EST Company Potlucks http://www.sparkpeople.com/mypage_public_journal_individual.asp?blog_id=4486589 Why is it that when the company has a potluck that you can never stay within your diet limit? So many things I wanted to add on to my plate. Hopefully I stuck with the rule of half the plate should be fruit and vegetables and one quarter a protein and one quarter of it starch. I did cheat and have a slice of cheese cake but so many other choices there as well. I added everything I had on to my nutrition tracker and "Oh Boy"...I guess I will HAVE to exercise tonight to make up for what I overa... Thu, 15 Sep 2011 13:40:13 EST Week 2 http://www.sparkpeople.com/mypage_public_journal_individual.asp?blog_id=4486078 I have not even started the required walking for week 2 as of yet. I did do 10 minutes yestesrday out in the parking lot at work and most likely I'll do that again today. Also, a party after work that includes bowling. I have not bowled in years. I wonder if I can still remember how. I'll try tonight to get my 30 minutes walk in and tomorrow the 1.5 miles and then Sunday for the 2 miles required for the 5 K preparation. The bright side is that I've lost 2 lbs this week. It's not what I hoped... Thu, 15 Sep 2011 09:12:02 EST The October 5K walk http://www.sparkpeople.com/mypage_public_journal_individual.asp?blog_id=4480283 Last night my son and husband got into the act by walking with me the required 1.5 mile walk for week 1's training for the 5K walk in 4 more weeks or October 31st, whichever one I chose to do. The moon was almost full so we needed no flashlight for walking. We walked both flat and hilly terrains and ended up resting part way through it because of curious neighbors wondering who would be walking in the dark. Hey, it's cooler then. The neighbor discovered that the mosquitos found us eventually ... Mon, 12 Sep 2011 09:48:00 EST Keeping Busy While Waiting http://www.sparkpeople.com/mypage_public_journal_individual.asp?blog_id=4473184 Being that the dryer is broke and too many other clothes hanging on the line, I took my clothes to the laundrymat after work. To make the time pass by faster while waiting for them to dry, I walked around the block. The walk took me past the city's cemetery which I stopped and looked at a few relatives graves and a grave of an old friend whom I miss greatly. Her grave is unmarked, but her parent's grave is there so that is where I stop. Continuing on down the road leads me downhill to a stops... Thu, 8 Sep 2011 09:15:53 EST Spark Book Icon http://www.sparkpeople.com/mypage_public_journal_individual.asp?blog_id=4471726 I recently bought the Spark Diet Book. I was wondering how it was added on to your profile. Wed, 7 Sep 2011 14:15:24 EST Housework! http://www.sparkpeople.com/mypage_public_journal_individual.asp?blog_id=3903810 Wow! I found out a person can burn 50,000 a year just by doing housework...interesting and yet, disappointing. With all the hard work it takes to clean house, sometimes, I would of thought it would be more. You have weight lifting, washing walls, mopping, climbing, crawling..all sorts of activities involved in housecleaning. How can it be that low? Sat, 8 Jan 2011 14:42:42 EST My Blog For the Day http://www.sparkpeople.com/mypage_public_journal_individual.asp?blog_id=3901508 There is not much to add today. I went to town, paid bills, got groceries, and came home. I got a little active by doing some dishes and laundry. Shave and a haircut, two bits. That's it. Tomorrow is Saturday. I had better do something then. Fri, 7 Jan 2011 19:37:40 EST A New Year/The Old One Gone http://www.sparkpeople.com/mypage_public_journal_individual.asp?blog_id=3893724 Last year sucked in a lot of ways. It started out okay all the way through May and then it was one thing after another bringing my emotions down. My husband's sister died, bills started mounting up, a friend who is dear to me husband died, and then Christmas which always depresses me. I tried to make the best of it as I could and made it through the holidays w/o gaining but also not losing any weight.

For the past few weeks I've noticed that I could feel/hear my blood pounding and ... Wed, 5 Jan 2011 17:18:43 EST It's Working http://www.sparkpeople.com/mypage_public_journal_individual.asp?blog_id=3761711 By paying attention to what I eat, exercising daily, & keeping a checklist of daily activities to do I am finally on a downward trend on the scale. Hopefully I can keep to my goal of losing at least 10 lbs by my birthday on November 21st. I already have plans for my steak and lobster that day but also plan on cutting must of it up and putting in a to go box or buying steak and lobster and cooking at home. It depends for it's the weekend where I go to Eau Claire on Saturday to meet up with fri...
