Classes started this week, and honestly I'm pretty thrilled about it. The classes I have are good, and the professors are awesome. Buying textbooks still sucks, but that's nothing new.

I plan to make Friday my day to go to the gym this semester, because I only have one class that day. However, this Friday I have a job interview, and would rather not go to it being stinky and tired. The cool part is that the interview is at Guitar Center!!!

S... Wed, 26 Aug 2009 16:20:17 EST My brain hurts http://www.sparkpeople.com/mypage_public_journal_individual.asp?blog_id=2123407 I drank a little bit too much last night. I never seem to learn , do I? Whatever. I was safe at home watching Woodstock, so no harm done.

Except now I feel like I've been whacked in the head with a sledgehammer. So today's exercise will be minimal at best. Scott atleast managed to drag me out to get some tea, wich is fine. Also I have clean laundry that needs to be put away. After that, I plan to be lazy and watch Wonderfalls all night.

Tomorow I'll be back to my regular... Thu, 4 Jun 2009 15:25:21 EST So it's a blog you want, eh? http://www.sparkpeople.com/mypage_public_journal_individual.asp?blog_id=2078981 The Sweatsuit to Swimsuit Challenge wants me to write a blog today for extra credit or whatever. So this is it.

Usually for that I just write in a regular notebook. It's easier and saves electricity.

Tonight we have a friend coming over, which meant we had to clean the apartment. Now that we live in a smaller place it's not as easy to leave an epic mess.

Later we walked around for a while. The weather is nice. Hooray.

I really have nothing importa... Wed, 20 May 2009 14:57:35 EST My plans for this evening http://www.sparkpeople.com/mypage_public_journal_individual.asp?blog_id=2055955 I'll be going door to door, begging people to let someone paint their houses.

Hooray for being employed again! Well, almost. We have to see how this goes. Tue, 12 May 2009 13:48:35 EST Monthly weigh in http://www.sparkpeople.com/mypage_public_journal_individual.asp?blog_id=2023205 Slightly disappointing news: I still weigh the same as I did last month.

Better-ish news: Towards the middle of the month, I cheated and looked at the scale and saw that I had gained five lbs. I managed to lose it again. Hooray.

News that made me slighlty cheesed off: I got a letter in the mail from Target saying that they won't hire me after all. They could have just called me. At least it would save some paper.

On a side note, I'm not too terribly worried ab... Fri, 1 May 2009 13:55:22 EST More good news http://www.sparkpeople.com/mypage_public_journal_individual.asp?blog_id=2014116 I had yet another job interview today. I don't know why all of these seem to be coming all at once, but I'm not going to complain about it.

This time was for a position in the kitchen at a nursing home. The way the guy interviewing me put it, it's kind of like a restaurant, but it's also helping people who need it. Sounds good.

For the record, I think the interview went well. Tue, 28 Apr 2009 15:17:33 EST um... http://www.sparkpeople.com/mypage_public_journal_individual.asp?blog_id=1997646 I had another job interview today. This time it was at Target. There is a pretty strong chance that I may get this one.

Hooray! Wed, 22 Apr 2009 20:16:59 EST I need a job http://www.sparkpeople.com/mypage_public_journal_individual.asp?blog_id=1975192 I was pretty jazzed to finally get a job interview yesterday. Even more so that it was one that wasn't way far out of town or requiring door-to-door knife selling. Even more awesome is that my mom was able to give me a ride there, thus saving me bus fare.

Turns out it was part one of a three-part process. In part one, a bunch of us job-beggars were put together in a room and given tons of paperwork to fill out. I've had some epic final exams that weren't this complicated. They prob... Wed, 15 Apr 2009 12:22:15 EST Aaaahhhh spring http://www.sparkpeople.com/mypage_public_journal_individual.asp?blog_id=1945359 The flowers. The nice weather. The not having to wear as much heavy clothing. The opportunity to go out and get more exercise and see other smiling people doing the same.

The stench of fertilizer in the air.

You know it's spring when Akron U. starts reeking of a combination of animal crap and stanky chemicals. Ick. The stink sticks on you, or it seems like it is. You spend the rest of the day paranoid that you smell offensive.

It's worse when they fertilize at... Sun, 5 Apr 2009 16:04:41 EST Coolness http://www.sparkpeople.com/mypage_public_journal_individual.asp?blog_id=1933997 Last summer when I updated my Ohio ID with my current address, I might have lied just a little bit about my weight. It was probably off by about 20 or so lbs.

I weighed myself today. My ID is telling the truth now. Yay Wed, 1 Apr 2009 15:57:03 EST Be nice http://www.sparkpeople.com/mypage_public_journal_individual.asp?blog_id=1920576 Dear Akron-ites,

Get the bugs out of your butts and start being decent for once. I know it's not easy, but it's worth it.

Also, it's nice out. Get off the computer and get some sunlight. The long miserable winter is gone for now, and you don't know when it will come back. Enjoy this while it's there. Let's go stroll down the Towpath and feed the ducks or something.

Love and peace,

Your friendly neighborhood Laura.
Sat, 28 Mar 2009 12:59:43 EST ack! http://www.sparkpeople.com/mypage_public_journal_individual.asp?blog_id=1915219 I finished doing my taxes. Yay for not slacking. It's not really that exciting, though. I'm still poor.

Today I went up to UA to check out this year's Women's Health Fair. It's not really as spectacular as it used to be. In the past they had free mini bagel and fruit and women's open-mic poetry type stuff. This years it's just a couple tables full of pamphlets on HPV and eating vegetables. At least I don't have to worry about buying condoms for another year.

They had on... Thu, 26 Mar 2009 13:19:30 EST Slow and steady http://www.sparkpeople.com/mypage_public_journal_individual.asp?blog_id=1727913 There have been many new things tried in my 25 years of living. I'm guilty of giving up on them when I can't get it right immediately. For example, I hated ice skating lessons when I was a kid because I wasn't magically transformed into Michelle Kwan the moment I set foot on the ice. I wanted perfection right then and there, and being a clumsy 5-year old wouldn't cut it.

Trying to lose weight is sometimes the same way. It's discouraging that I can't see immediate results after o... Thu, 22 Jan 2009 11:17:08 EST Rocking Out http://www.sparkpeople.com/mypage_public_journal_individual.asp?blog_id=1100755 Yesterday I went out and bought an MP3 player. It's made working out way more fun. Then again, music makes just about everything fun. I might want to get a different set of headphones, because earbuds are annoying and never want to stay in.

I'm trying not to let other people get me down. I see these people at the gym and at the dance clubs all the time. The girls are the skinny bimbos in expensive designer clothes and too much make-up, and the guys are the meat-head fraternity type... Thu, 27 Mar 2008 13:54:54 EST ...and AGAIN!!!! http://www.sparkpeople.com/mypage_public_journal_individual.asp?blog_id=1095994 I swear I need some sort of Healthy Lifestyle Overlord to whip me into submission so I won't keep leaving. I'm back, anyway. That's got to be a good start.

Yesterday I was watching the Today show with my mom. They did some piece about a young lady who lost a dramatic amount of weight by the usual means (good food, exercise, etc.). My mom made some remark that she's lucky to have desided to lose weight at such a young age (I think this lady was in her late 20's). I took that as a su... Tue, 25 Mar 2008 14:14:10 EST Here I go again http://www.sparkpeople.com/mypage_public_journal_individual.asp?blog_id=901177 I'm back, folks. I decided I need to get back into the groove of healthy living. If I lose weight in the process, that will be quite awesome.

Wish me luck! Mon, 7 Jan 2008 12:56:16 EST Bad fluffy http://www.sparkpeople.com/mypage_public_journal_individual.asp?blog_id=229341 My birthday was pretty awesome, but it left me with a lot of bad stuff in my fridge. Namely cake and beer. Instead of taking the good advice given to me on the boards, I decided to eat 2 pieces of cake anddrink 4 beers, all whilst playing old-school nintendo games. Shame shame.

Evidenlty, I've gained a pound. I'm sure last night may be a factor in that. But it's just one pound. I can deal with that.

This morning I woke up feeling bloated and hungover (gee, I wonder why)... Tue, 1 Aug 2006 17:23:46 EST Dancing with myself http://www.sparkpeople.com/mypage_public_journal_individual.asp?blog_id=224722 I woke up late this morning. We went out last night for kareoke, but I limited myself to one beer, and then drank water the rest of the time. Sure, a part of that may be a reult of limited funds, but it's still good for me. I doubt the slice of orange in my drink was any benefit to me, though.

My strength exercises put me in a pretty good mood, though. I had the radio on to a station that tends to play a lot of 80's pop. I danced around my apartment and had a good old time.
<... Thu, 27 Jul 2006 14:46:35 EST stupid mood swings http://www.sparkpeople.com/mypage_public_journal_individual.asp?blog_id=220267 "Aunt Flo" decided to come by last night. I figured it was about time. My period usually comes around the end of the month.

It used to freak me out when my best guy friend in high school figured this out. I was like "Oh no! How dare he know when I'm on the rag!" This was the same guy who I used to have a running joke about what underwear we were wearing that day.

I don't like thunderstorms. I can't sleep during them now that I don't live with my parents. There was a pr... Sat, 22 Jul 2006 18:32:58 EST la agua http://www.sparkpeople.com/mypage_public_journal_individual.asp?blog_id=219488 Drinking water is not a problem, most of the time. Sometimes I slack off, but who doesn't. The problem is having to pee all the time. Usually, I don't have to go until I'm halfway through my big water jug, but then after that it's like I pretty much live in the bathroom.

I heard it's possible to overhydrate and have you kidneys fail. I'm not sure of the accuracy of that, but it sounds pretty freaky.

It's just that it's been pretty hot and muggy lately. I suppose that's w... Fri, 21 Jul 2006 14:36:02 EST
