It's been more difficult, and my weigh-ins have had their ups and downs. However, I have learned something very valuable. As of this morning, I have lost just over 35 pounds which means I've crossed the halfway point to my ultimate goal weight. It also takes me out of 150-ville and into the land of 140s. It's been a long time since I've seen that number. Look out 130s, it won't be long till I see you again, too! Tue, 18 Nov 2008 23:00:14 EST What a Great Morning! http://www.sparkpeople.com/mypage_public_journal_individual.asp?blog_id=1519233 I did the 5K Walk for Breast Cancer this morning. In, and of itself, it was a wonderful and worthwhile event. But, it was even more special because I did it with 4 of my Brevard Buddies SparkTeam members. It was also a fun and interesting thing to try to identify each other, since this was our first meeting in person! Even though we have seen photos of ourselves on this site, it wasn't easy to recognize each other. Good thing we had a meeting spot and phone numbers! It was so nice to wa... Sat, 18 Oct 2008 16:36:18 EST Back on Track http://www.sparkpeople.com/mypage_public_journal_individual.asp?blog_id=1517000 So, I've had a rough week. I'm not sure why it happened; I've been doing really great since the beginning of April. But, over the last several days, I've felt some old compulsive urges. I had about 4 days over my calorie range (not all consecutive), and a couple of those days had significant overages. Fortunately, I didn't let up on my exercise, and I think the storm has passed. I had a good day yesterday, and I'm feeling back in control. That, in itself, is such a notable change from h... Fri, 17 Oct 2008 07:43:10 EST 30 Pounds Done! http://www.sparkpeople.com/mypage_public_journal_individual.asp?blog_id=1479108 At last! I am very happy to have reached the 30 pounds lost mark today! For a few weeks now, I've just been hovering in the 28/29 pound range. I've waited patiently, kept working, but added some variety to my exercise and changed my breakfast a little. So, the little turtle on my ticker got to take another little step forward. Yay! Keep on sparking little guy!
134 87 Thu, 25 Sep 2008 15:57:24 EST A Weight Loss Milestone http://www.sparkpeople.com/mypage_public_journal_individual.asp?blog_id=1430575 Today is a day I've been working hard to achieve, for nearly 5 months. I had my weekly weigh in, and have finally reduced my BMI category from obese to overweight. So, today I celebrate being overweight! Also, from my starting weight, back in early April, I've reached the halfway point to a normal BMI.

Like the turtle, slow and steady wins the race!
134 205 185 Fri, 29 Aug 2008 22:50:53 EST A Surprising Experience at the Buffet http://www.sparkpeople.com/mypage_public_journal_individual.asp?blog_id=1388890 This dining out experience happened exactly one week ago today, and I'm still so surprised about what happened. My family went to dinner at Golden Corral, and when we went in, I made a conscious decision that I would eat whatever I wanted, but I'd keep it in moderation. My eyes drooled over the dessert bar, which we were actually seated right next to. Here's the weird part - when I went up to get my food, I passed over all the fried foods, and saucy foods, and just picked the healthy foods... Fri, 8 Aug 2008 13:01:40 EST
