I still have optifast shakes left over and I have 10 more pounds to loose so I will continue with the shakes on my own for a little while. On August 26th the maintenance program begins. I will definitely need this so as not to gain back everything that I worked so hard to loose. It is a nutrition corse and involves logging everything we eat and continuing with exercise. Sun, 3 Aug 2014 15:53:38 EST No More RoundUp http://www.sparkpeople.com/mypage_public_journal_individual.asp?blog_id=5742326 Well I used to use Roundup to clear weeds in my gravel pathways and in the lawn and sidewalks. I thought it was biodegradable but it isn't. Then I found out about Monstanto company and GMOs and drugs given to our animals and control of the cotton industry in India. Monsanto makes RoundUp.
So, today I went back to the old fashioned way of controlling weeds. I just pulled them out. The soil was moist and the day is cool so it wasn't hard to do at all. I think it will be a good dessert alone or with icemilk and it will go well with yogurt too.
Soon I will be ordering my own yogurt maker so that I can be sure that my yogurt is made with nonhormonal nonfat milk. Thu, 26 Jun 2014 19:06:07 EST Back on the sugar rollercoaster http://www.sparkpeople.com/mypage_public_journal_individual.asp?blog_id=5726449 Well I had some cookies last night and sure enough..... I was hungry about a half hour later. I wasn't really hungry when I ate the cookies. I just wanted something to munch. When I got mildly hungry later I ate a whole meal of chili and mozarella cheese and ended up going over my calorie limit for the day.
That does it....NO MORE COOKIES. Apparently the genetic alterations in our food actually cause the plant to form its own insecticide and this can be attributed to the raise in infant death mortality and increases in Cancer.
I had breast cancer and so did my Mom and Sister. So I asked my doctor if it was genetic. He said that the type I had (intraductal) was not genetic but that ther was a higher incidence of this... Tue, 24 Jun 2014 15:59:16 EST Back to tracking food http://www.sparkpeople.com/mypage_public_journal_individual.asp?blog_id=5724927 Now that I am near the tail end of my Optifast Diet, I am going to start tracking foods. They will be visible to the public and I think that will help me to prevent overeating because I don't want to be ashamed of how I eat. Also, If I have a particularly good day of eating nutritionally within my calorie limit of 1400 calories you might want to use it as a guide for your own meal plans. My rhubarb is doing well too. So, I am going to make a pie or two. I will eat a small piece and give the rest to my neighbors. The second one will be given to my parents. Or maybe I will freeze them.
Nevermind...this will be good practice for me. I will resist eating strawberries when I cut them up and I will resist eating the pie. Two steps back. http://www.sparkpeople.com/mypage_public_journal_individual.asp?blog_id=5719889 Here I was so proud of myself for doing well last week. Then last night I told myself it would be OK to do the modified version and I made myself a nice little meal of Lemon Pepper Salmon and dandilion greens. It was very good but I wanted more. Then I broke the fast. I knew there was a frozen package of Crossaint rolls and I told myself "It won't hurt to have only one" and then I put them in the oven.
I ended up eating 2/3 of the package! Sun, 8 Jun 2014 14:31:03 EST Cheating on the fast http://www.sparkpeople.com/mypage_public_journal_individual.asp?blog_id=5712877 Well, I haven't been loosing weight for three weeks but I have been cheating.
Last Saturday, I ate pizza all day. A few days ago, I made myself sick on Almond slivers. Yesterday, I went out for KFC buiscuits. I am really losing my confidence in my ability to resist temptation. It is almost like being an Alcoholic. Being able to stop eating once I have started (especially in the evening) is really hard for me. Do any of you have any suggestions? I am open to your ideas. Its time to start thinking about what my lifestyle should be to KEEP the weight off. My plan so far is to start each morning with oatmeal and apples and walnuts and a glass of non fat milk. I may want to go that route.
Any way, I am looki... The Nurse said I could switch to the Modified Optifast which allows 3 oz. lean meat, a salad (restricted to the salad items listed) with dressing 18 cal. or less, and a green vegetable (not starchy). So far I am very happy with this change. Of course I won't lose as quickly. I guess I will start logging in the nutrition guide on Spark People again.
Tonight I ... They did extra tests on my blood and told me that I can have 3 ounces lean meat every day.
It is hard to stop eating once you have wet your appetite with the meat. I ate more than just the 3oz last week. I still lost one pound. The radishes should be ready long before the corn gets tall.
I wanted to cover the seeds with a clear plastic mesh but I couldn't find it in the stores or nurseries. I am going to wait until 4:oo pm when it starts to cool down before working on it again.
I am definitely getting enough sun and exercise. I feel great! Sun, 9 Mar 2014 16:19:12 EST Working in the garden http://www.sparkpeople.com/mypage_public_journal_individual.asp?blog_id=5643603 Well yesterday I cleared two sections of my lawn from crabgrass. That was a major endeavor. Then when I opened the huge jug of complete grass mix, it was only about a quarter full! What a huge disappointment! So anyway I only seeded a small little patch. Now I am off to prepare another section of the lawn and I need to go back to home depot for more of the ripoff seed mix 'cause I want it to match. Sun, 9 Mar 2014 13:14:09 EST Time for setting up the garden. http://www.sparkpeople.com/mypage_public_journal_individual.asp?blog_id=5642105 I already have two pear tomato plants in pots but it is time to work in the compost and manure into my main vegetable bed.
