I was supposed to do it the night before but some evening plans kind of messed that up and I opted to do my night out last night when I could relax and not be rushed through my meal. I went to Conner's Steak house. I ordered a 6 oz filet, cooked rare +, broccoli and a salad. After dinner I had creme Brûlée that I shared with my husband and a few bites of my son's chocolate mousse cake! The whole meal was fantastic and delicious and made all 19 days worth... Wed, 30 Jan 2013 18:13:38 EST 4 Days Left, Day 16! http://www.sparkpeople.com/mypage_public_journal_individual.asp?blog_id=5224728 So yesterday was Day 16. It was a Rest Day. I did my normal routine but last night we were going to the Luke Bryan concert so I ate prior to the concert and decided I would drink a glass of wine at the concert. 1 glass led to 3, then we ran into friends at the concert and made plans to go out for drinks/food after the concert. Everyone ordered all of my old favorite foods and I ate my chocolate bar and drank MORE wine! So by the end of the night I think my total intake of wine was close ... Sat, 26 Jan 2013 19:06:40 EST Sorry I missed a few days! Had a set-back... http://www.sparkpeople.com/mypage_public_journal_individual.asp?blog_id=5220213 I apologize for being absent the past couple of days on my blog. I had a hiccup. Turns out I have a reaction to the chickpeas. So now I have reactions with 2 foods. Chickpeas and Rye. I tested tomato last night with a plum tomato which is supposed to be the least reactive of the tomatoes out there on the market. I passed that one with flying colors. No problem at all and I woke up down a whole pound this morning. Today is a rest day so nothing exciting going on today. I'm on day 13 s... Wed, 23 Jan 2013 13:34:34 EST Half Way there! http://www.sparkpeople.com/mypage_public_journal_individual.asp?blog_id=5216037 Day 10 has come and almost gone. Today I woke up 4 ounces lighter than yesterday so the weight is still dropping. I had a good day today. I woke up and had my breakfast cereal with blueberries and chia seeds. I've never had chia seeds. They have absolutely no flavor but apparently help do a sweep of your intestines so they do the body good. After that I called my mom to see if she wanted to hit Trader Joes so she came over and after seeing all my results thus far she decided to go buy t... Sun, 20 Jan 2013 20:08:34 EST A pretty good day overall http://www.sparkpeople.com/mypage_public_journal_individual.asp?blog_id=5214684 Today was a pretty good day overall. I took my lunch and snack to work with me. It's really not a hard diet to follow if you make enough food to freeze some and heat up as you are ready for it. I was having a hard time finding no salt potato chips so I went to Trader Joes down in Naples and bought theirs since Lyn-Genet stated she likes theirs the best out of all of them. Their chips are great for no salt. Very flavorful. I definitely will be keeping those at home rather than all the o... Sat, 19 Jan 2013 19:35:15 EST A great surprise! http://www.sparkpeople.com/mypage_public_journal_individual.asp?blog_id=5213971 381 Ok so I got up this morning, took my temperature and dragged myself on the scale. I was sure I would be up after the bread test so I didn't want to set foot on it. In fact I was quite scared-but to my surprise, I was down over 1/2 a pound! Woo-hoo! I AM SO happy! That means I'm good for 100% whole wheat bread! Yay Yay Yay! That was such a relief, you all have no idea. I was missing bread so this is great for me. At this rate I will hit my goal weight at some point I am... Sat, 19 Jan 2013 08:26:30 EST Just keep planning.... http://www.sparkpeople.com/mypage_public_journal_individual.asp?blog_id=5213464 I'm not sure what happened yesterday. I only lost 2 ounces yesterday. I guess that's better than nothing but it was a rest day, not a test day and I should lose a half pound. I helped a friend give her horse a haircut yesterday and I was having a hard time getting my water in so I don't know if I didn't quite get all my water in. I was distracted so wasn't really recording it like a normally do tracking every little thing. I also ate later than normal last night and was eating at 730. I... Fri, 18 Jan 2013 19:23:29 EST Lamb was a success, today is a rest day! http://www.sparkpeople.com/mypage_public_journal_individual.asp?blog_id=5211146 So last night went great. After the lamb, wine and chocolate I am down 1.2 pounds! I feel great and am so happy that all went well! It's so funny how happy and excited you are when you get on the scale and see that the day prior went smoothly and as you hoped. The Plan is #2 on the NY times best seller list now for advice/health! I can see why! I never want to go back to eating the way I was! I'll keep you all posted on how I come out today! 224 Thu, 17 Jan 2013 08:28:25 EST My first protein test! http://www.sparkpeople.com/mypage_public_journal_individual.asp?blog_id=5210736 291 So today I had to choose a new protein to add into my repertoire of foods! I chose lamb. I think it was the line in the book that said one would be hard pressed to tell a good lamb-burger from a hamburger - that right there sold me on the lamb! I miss hamburger! I was all for starting with a new meat for me, simply because I'm trying a lot of other new foods lately that are rarely in my diet. The last time I had lamb was 5 years ago and I liked it so I thought it would be ... Wed, 16 Jan 2013 22:16:00 EST So today is day 6. It was a day to add another protein, HOWEVER... http://www.sparkpeople.com/mypage_public_journal_individual.asp?blog_id=5209130 I had a reaction from Rye. I didn't see that one coming. That one hit me head on! I almost immediately had gas and constipation from the Rye test. So, that means cut the Rye out. I can test Wheat bread next but breads are not looking good for me. So, today was a day of one step backward to get back on track and have a rest day....to eat a meal that worked for me prior to the rye test. So I went back and ate some leftovers and had Day 4 all over again. Tomorrow I am adding in a new Pr... Tue, 15 Jan 2013 22:00:48 EST Day 5, Could be a test... http://www.sparkpeople.com/mypage_public_journal_individual.asp?blog_id=5206292 9 I woke up and I'm down almost another full pound! 8/10 of a pound I lost. I'm so happy I had no reaction to the cheese. Today they add Rye into my diet via a Rye cracker with Almond butter. I am so happy to be continually losing weight, feeling satisfied and full at the end of the day and I am learning so much about new foods, foods I've never really rotated much through my diet before, even though I thought I was eating healthy before.
Today I have to go across the st... Mon, 14 Jan 2013 08:54:52 EST Day 4, Completed and it's a success http://www.sparkpeople.com/mypage_public_journal_individual.asp?blog_id=5205763 334 Day 4 of Lyn-Genet Recitas "The Plan" is finally completed. I had a good day! Breakfast went down easily. Lunch tasted amazing. The Italian Winter Vegetables I choked down last night tasted fantastic with the goat cheese that was my test food for today. I had no obvious signs that I have a reaction from cheese so the final test will be tomorrow when I weigh in on the scale. Snack was great. I had to make Home-made Hummus today for my menu. I had carrots with the hummus ... Sun, 13 Jan 2013 21:50:46 EST Day 4, The Beginning of Phase 2 http://www.sparkpeople.com/mypage_public_journal_individual.asp?blog_id=5204839 381 So I stepped on the scale this morning and was down almost another full pound today! I feel SO much better. I really think there is something to this plan. My stomach never hurts. I can breath and move freely and would feel good putting my swimsuit back on again! No more headaches or stress feeling. I feel fantastic to say the least. My head feels so clear. I never realized how bloated I was before, I just thought it was my shape and my size. I recommend this to anyon... Sun, 13 Jan 2013 10:45:03 EST Day 3 Completed! 17 more to go! http://www.sparkpeople.com/mypage_public_journal_individual.asp?blog_id=5204283 Ok, I've survived the 1st portion of "The Plan" which was the cleanse. Starting tomorrow I start testing new foods. Tomorrow is cheese! Very excited to try the cheese and see what my reaction is! The chicken tonight tasted so good. Those first two days felt like they drug on for weeks! Very excited about finding out what foods work for me and so excited to drop some more weight! This is such a great experience and will change the way I eat forever I'm certain! I will let you know tomo... Sat, 12 Jan 2013 22:20:02 EST Ok, maybe "The Plan" is just awesome! http://www.sparkpeople.com/mypage_public_journal_individual.asp?blog_id=5203244 I woke up this morning and almost a full 2 pounds down on the scale! Tonight I get chicken with my dinner and I get to change-up my lunch...very excited about the changes and the weight loss...will blog more later but just wanted to shout out about the drop in weight!!! Sat, 12 Jan 2013 08:12:20 EST Day Two Completed! Yay! http://www.sparkpeople.com/mypage_public_journal_individual.asp?blog_id=5202825 Ok, Day two of The Plan, I survived it! Yes! And, yes, this is THAT hard for me! I am having some serious withdrawals from some of my favorite foods right now! Thank goodness day two added in a few more foods for me. I hope I lose more weight tomorrow to make this all worth it. I can't say that I am yet developing any kind of desire to eat the foods I have the last two days. Maybe that will change. My body is starting to feel better but I'm still tired and kinda moody. More than anyt... Fri, 11 Jan 2013 21:54:29 EST I survived Day One! http://www.sparkpeople.com/mypage_public_journal_individual.asp?blog_id=5201905 Ok, here I am, Day Two and have made it through Day one and breakfast of day two. I can do this! It is getting easier as I go and I am figuring out when to get my shopping, prepping, etc. in so it's not as hard as I had expected afterall. I woke up and was down 1.2 pounds after the first day. I will Blog later to let you know how the rest of the day goes. I feel pretty darn good today though, I will say that. Far better than what I felt last night at the end of the day 41 .... Fri, 11 Jan 2013 10:07:50 EST The Plan http://www.sparkpeople.com/mypage_public_journal_individual.asp?blog_id=5201112 I wasn't going to blog about this but then today I changed my mind. I thought perhaps blogging on this will keep my head in the game and keep me focused. I started something today called The Plan. On The Plan the first 3 days are a cleanse, after the first 3 days you slowly start adding other foods back in to your diet to "test" each food to see how your body accepts the food. If you have a negative reaction to the food, one of which is weight gain then the idea is to eliminate that food ... Thu, 10 Jan 2013 20:28:28 EST Who took my motivation? http://www.sparkpeople.com/mypage_public_journal_individual.asp?blog_id=5193834 So here I am, round two on Sparkpeople.com. I did this once before on my weight-loss journey and managed quite well. Somehow in the last 6 months or so I have lost my motivation. I was working out on a daily basis. As of last spring I started a full time job and once that took place I wasn't getting my workouts in so much. Occasionally getting to the gym and doing some training on weights but my cardio came to a screeching halt! I have no idea why or where my motivation went to keep up ... Sun, 6 Jan 2013 21:05:03 EST
