I gave it up over 30 days ago. It's like my eyes have been opened to my real addiction to it. A couple days ago, I went to Cracker Barrel with some family from out of town. I love the gift shop as well as the food. As I circulated the store I realized that a large third of the store was filled with desserts to buy. So I steered myself into the the other parts and found some cute things to buy. BUT I remember how I HAD to buy the peppermint sticks and chocolate bars on EVER... Fri, 29 May 2015 17:33:57 EST Threw Out my Stash http://www.sparkpeople.com/mypage_public_journal_individual.asp?blog_id=5927204 Today is significant. I've always had a hiding place for my sweets somewhere in the kitchen. Currently, it was a cereal box that was the holding place of chocolate and other sweets. Perhaps this sounds terrible that I stashed sweets away. Maybe it is. I did it because if it was sitting in the family food cabinet, it disappeared without me realizing it was gone. Then, when I went for even a small portion, there was nothing left. I lived each day thinking that I really "wanted and needed... Tue, 12 May 2015 22:15:06 EST Another Night Bites the Dust! http://www.sparkpeople.com/mypage_public_journal_individual.asp?blog_id=5926968 One of my biggest struggles is eating at night after 9pm when I get home from work. Even driving home last night I was thinking of eating, even though I'd eaten all my calories for the day. I get in the house all "wound up" from work and visit with my family. I'm in the house for about 10-15 minutes when I realize that the temptation to eat passed. So, I went to bed earlier than normal so I could relax and enjoy my book AND keep the victory of not over eating. Another night of over eatin... Thank you,Jesus and family and Spark family for your help and support. 224
Yesterday, was a really tough day in the evening. I'd eaten all my calories and I was coming home from work around 9pm. I was really wanting to eat when I got home, but I had eaten enough. To top it off, my husband was cooking food that smelled wonderful and my daughter talked about a dessert she'd brought home from a college awards ceremony.... It starts on April 20th and ends on May 17th. A check means "I did it" and a dash means "not done." My columns are date, TAWG(time alone with God), Track on Spark, Exercise, and a "Hit the Target" which means I stayed within my Spark calorie range. Mon, 4 May 2015 14:05:27 EST Reflections of Eating No Sugary Junk http://www.sparkpeople.com/mypage_public_journal_individual.asp?blog_id=5921340 Today is Day 6 of purposefully not eating sugary junk. In addition to this goal (which is set for 1 week) I have spent time each day in prayer and Bible reading, tracking my eating on Spark, exercising a little each day, and hitting the target of staying within Spark calorie range. At first the idea of making through just one day without some kind of candy(especially chocolate) seemed almost impossible. Sat, 2 May 2015 13:53:37 EST My Treats for Today http://www.sparkpeople.com/mypage_public_journal_individual.asp?blog_id=5920458 A book and a bowl of cantaloupe; those were my treats today. I'd have to say that today was just a harder day with abstaining from junk food and staying within my calorie range. I was around people morning and evening just chomping away on candy. Even at home there is a certain time of day around 2-3pm that I want to hunker down in my rocker, eat candy and watch part of a munder mystery. Today, I went upstairs (away from rocker,TV,and food) and I laid down and read my book. What a treat!... I have set the goal of 1 week, which for me, is an incredible achievement. In choosing this goal, I am also tracking my food intake on Spark, striving to stay within range, plus exercise daily, in some way, and have a daily time of prayer and Bible reading with God. It is 4:00pm and I feel good. I am shocked that I feel good physically and emotionally without some chocolate around midday. I put... I tried on a spring top from last season today and my standing profile (not even gonna think about what I look like sitting down) around my middle is so much larger than I remember last season. I am heavier on the scale, but I can also really see it in the mirror. I got on a good path a few weeks ago, but I slumped off.

What is different about this Day 1? What a wise word of advise!
I have determined to "zero in" on tracking all food that goes in my mouth and striving with determination to stay at the low end of my Spark calorie range.
Obtainable ,Measurable Goal with Reward:
I, Fit and Faithful, will track my food intake on Spark from March 6 to March 13 whi... Thu, 6 Mar 2014 09:50:46 EST #2 Working on the Roots http://www.sparkpeople.com/mypage_public_journal_individual.asp?blog_id=5637176 You know the story about Charlie Brown and his Christmas tree? 378 I remember the scene where he put one ornament on the tree and it bent over with the weight of just one ornament.

Then, I heard another story recently about a man who wanted his life to affect millions of people in a great way. He told God about his desire to be like a mighty tree that was brimming with fruit and was a source of safety for the birds and other creatures. This tree represented his lif... It seems there is a correlation between me posting on my blog and success with health and weight loss. SO, my challenge to myself is to post for the next 30 days and really see some results in all parts of me. 224

I heard a great teaching about how we cannot see change on the outside of us, UNTIL we make changes in our thinking. So, I've created the beginnings of my own "Emancipation Proclamation." Emancipate: to... I purposed to go at least 50 minutes and it was so pleasant. AND I WALKED 10,167 steps today which EXCEEDS my 8000 step goal! 334 Of course, my goals for a healthy life include the physical, but also the spiritual. I invited Jesus Christ to be my Lord and Savior many, many years ago. HE is the key to life and peace. As long as I've prayed and read His words from the bible, I long to know HIM more...and 521
T... I did weigh-in and found that I was down 1 pound from the middle of December. 224
Today I weighed my almonds and I counted my chips making sure my portions were correct. I did 25 bicycle crunches to work on my abs and I made some homemade chicken soup with lots and lots of carrots. 210 Yum!
I really only ate 2 meals today, so I did eat a small amount of food kind of late for dinner.
