It's official... I am TOTALLY in love with Cardio Theater. Apparently this is a name brand for this particular machine, so I'll explain so you know what I'm talking about. Every treadmill and elliptical machine the gym has, has a personal 22" tv screen mounted on it. You can change it to whatever channel you want (they have cable) and plug your head phones in to watch whatever you like! This is a BRILLIANT idea! At my last (EXPENSIVE!!!!!!!!!!!) Lifetime gym (they JUST doubled thei... Wed, 14 May 2008 11:08:35 EST I'm back! (from outer space)... lol http://www.sparkpeople.com/mypage_public_journal_individual.asp?blog_id=1202312 Ok... so it was TOM (Time of the Month), then I got sick... and when I get sick I want to be pitied and served... as the fridge magnet my mother gave me, so eloquently says, "I want it all, and I want it delivered!"... ha! She's right... especially when I'm sick... poor hubby... get me this, get me that, and don't remind me it's not good for me! I know it's not good for me! That's why I want it! It's called COMFORT FOOD... HELLLLLOOOOOOO! lol Any who... I'm over being sick... we didn't ... Mon, 12 May 2008 08:23:12 EST Icky... Icky... I've been sicky... http://www.sparkpeople.com/mypage_public_journal_individual.asp?blog_id=1190965 Well... as is typical I'm sick. There's a stomach virus going around and I seem to have caught it. I get most bugs that go around. One of the mis-fortunes of being so overweight with Diabetes. TOM is ALMOST over... I tend to go a bit longer than most according to my gyno... just my luck... so I weighed the same yesterday as I did last week. At least it's staying the same and not going up!

Well... I'm not sure I'll surface from bed again in the next few days to log on... but I'm... Tue, 6 May 2008 11:29:00 EST Damn relatives! http://www.sparkpeople.com/mypage_public_journal_individual.asp?blog_id=1175564 Well... Aunt Flo's been here for 2 full days now and as with most of my relatives, I'm already ready to strangle her.

ok... that's it... that's all I wanted to say... I needed to vent... before that whole smoke-from-the-ears thing gets repeated. And I really don't think my dog can handle another one of those episodes so soon after the first...

Oh... and one more thing... have you ever answered the phone at work... Hello... ABC Bubble Gum Co. (no, I don't really work f... Tue, 29 Apr 2008 14:50:46 EST TOM.... (MAJOR pout)... lol http://www.sparkpeople.com/mypage_public_journal_individual.asp?blog_id=1172158 I, like everyone appreciate a downward trend in my weight... however, even I must conceed that TOM can cause weight gain. Grrrrr....

I jumped on the scale this morning... happy as a lark.. well... no... more like happy as a clam... because clams are round... as am I... and I know my cheeks instantly turned red and smoke blew out of my ears... I just KNOW it! Thus explaining my dog running away whimpering - either that or she thought the rapid-fire torrent of cuss words was aime... Mon, 28 Apr 2008 09:51:18 EST Weirdness @ the Gym? http://www.sparkpeople.com/mypage_public_journal_individual.asp?blog_id=1164826 Hmmm... so I've been going to the gym for 5 days in a row now, and I've picked up on something odd. There's this guy (I call him Mr. Buff Stuff) that works out during the same time frame that Hubby & I are there. This guy is what I picture your average muscle head to look like. I've never spoken to him, so I have no clue if he has a brain in his noggin, but he's definitely got the body from Hell! It's obvious that he takes this whole working out thing very seriously, and takes great care ... Thu, 24 Apr 2008 12:38:15 EST Oopsie Rolls (Low Carb Bread Substitute?) http://www.sparkpeople.com/mypage_public_journal_individual.asp?blog_id=1160342 FYI: The photo is a BLT on an Oopsie Roll

Ok... so I've been asked about my comments on these so many times, I thought I'd post the info here. An "Oopsie Roll" is a great bread alternative, as I understand it, it was "discovered" (read accidentally!) by a fellow low carber. She was trying to make a different low carb recipe and ended up with the "Oopsie Roll"... thus the Oopsie name (her blog is hilarious, by the way!). I've made them a few times now and they're yummy. When I ... Tue, 22 Apr 2008 16:30:07 EST 3rd Day @ the Gym and I Haven't Died! http://www.sparkpeople.com/mypage_public_journal_individual.asp?blog_id=1159412 Well, it's official... I've been to the gym 3 days in a row and I didn't die! I swear I always thought I'd spontaneously combust or something! And I'm happy to note, that altho it's a fancy, HUGE place there are all kinds of people there. Big ones, small ones, short ones, tall ones (I'm starting to feel Seussuian)... and they're all really nice so far. The thin chicks even smile and say hi, go figure! Hehe... I consider myself as Juno says in the movie Juno... I'm the "cautionary whale".... Tue, 22 Apr 2008 10:21:25 EST The Gym - OMG! Calories In vs. Calories Out http://www.sparkpeople.com/mypage_public_journal_individual.asp?blog_id=1156559 OMG! You want to talk about motivation! We started going to an actual gym yesterday (Sunday, 04/20/08), instead of using our home gym. Those little machines (treadmill, recumbent bike - cardio) actually tell you how many calories you burn while working out. Talk about an eye opener! I'm a firm believer in what I call burst workouts. I work out at a normal pace, and then throw in higher intensity, faster paced 1 minute bursts. I do 3 bursts in a 10 minute period. Imagine the shock of s... Mon, 21 Apr 2008 09:43:15 EST The McDonald's Epiphany http://www.sparkpeople.com/mypage_public_journal_individual.asp?blog_id=1150784 Hubby was craving a chocolate milkshake last night from Mickey D's, and being the sweetheart he is, he didn't want to get yelled at for not bringing me one too. What can I say, I have him well trained... lol I wasn't happy at first, but I hated to waste it. I started drinking the obnoxiously large (32 oz.) chocolate shake. It took my brain until I was half way through to realize, 1.) It no longer tasted good to me, because I wasn't used to the sugar (it was SYRUPY sweet). 2.) I eat/dri... Fri, 18 Apr 2008 08:31:49 EST Too Much of a Good Thing Isn't Good! (aka The Great Almond Debacle) http://www.sparkpeople.com/mypage_public_journal_individual.asp?blog_id=1146019 Damn almonds! I OBVIOUSLY ate WAY too many of them yesterday. I had enough of them to make up my calories for an ENTIRE day!!!!! BUT! I refuse to beat myself up over it. I weighed myself this morning and I'm still 273.5, so it didn't cause a gain. Thank the Lord for small miracles! I know they're a problem for me, but I didn't have my food with me as I usually do. I had to fend for myself for once and almonds are a great snack. But like George Stella put it, "Nuts are like candy to m... Wed, 16 Apr 2008 08:21:27 EST
