Now it is even more difficult to take off because it has to be lifted to an upright position before it can begin to think about taking off again.

I was doing so well I don't understand what happened. I have no desire to analyse myself either.

I know SP is a good fit for me but I feel like I need to approach it differently - not so "gung ho" as before.

As it tu... Tue, 30 Jul 2013 17:51:43 EST Monday - got through it without too much damage http://www.sparkpeople.com/mypage_public_journal_individual.asp?blog_id=5400645 I was busy all weekend trying to vacuum up the corgi undercoat that has been shed all over the house the past few weeks. I did the usual - laundry and grocery shopping - plus cooked dinners - and that was pretty much it. Oh - paid a visit to my mom which went well.

Health-wise -

I did get to try two exercise DVD that my friend at work loaned me - one of which I really liked - a Richard Simmons 20 min energy workout.

Wait I think I'm going to try it again ... Mon, 24 Jun 2013 21:20:23 EST I've been sparked :) http://www.sparkpeople.com/mypage_public_journal_individual.asp?blog_id=5396754 Today I felt the first thrill of noticeable progress. I'm starting to believe I might succeed.

When I got done tracking today I found that I had managed to stay within my calorie range. What a relief.
I've really been struggling with this because I haven't been able to do this all week except for one day where I didn't eat supper. I haven't been that far over but somehow my snacking always gets me in trouble. I've eaten healthy foods plus some others like birthday cake a... Thu, 20 Jun 2013 22:01:30 EST Fitness plan http://www.sparkpeople.com/mypage_public_journal_individual.asp?blog_id=5393947 My Spark Coach assignment for today is to come up with a Fitness Plan and add it to my calendar. This feels like just another assignment I need to do - and that causes stress for me. I've got a lot of things I have to do already in my like I'm signed up for one month and I will do my best to work it for that time at least.

Right now - my nightly walk with Heidi is IT for my fitness plan. It takes me 14 min to walk .54 miles. I can see myself adding more distance and more than onc... Tue, 18 Jun 2013 22:05:17 EST Walk .54 miles in my shoes http://www.sparkpeople.com/mypage_public_journal_individual.asp?blog_id=5391293 This was my weigh day and my first weigh-in showed I had gained 1 pound. I went back to bed, got up an hours later (went pee) and it showed I had lost .5 pounds. So I'm going with #2 of course.
I had an okay day - visited my mom which was somewhat of a drag because she hardly smiled once. This is not unusual. I did talk her into letting me talk with her and tape the conversation. I asked her about why she and dad picked the house I grew up in and related topics. I think I might be int... Sun, 16 Jun 2013 22:16:56 EST Slow but steady wins the race http://www.sparkpeople.com/mypage_public_journal_individual.asp?blog_id=5389507 It's been a busier than usual week - just a lot of things to pay attention to. But it's finally Friday.

Today was the last day of my SparkCoach 7 day free trial and I decided to try it for one month more ($8.99). I do actually look forward to going through the steps. I haven't found the perfect time of day yet - I'm a lot fresher and open in the morning before work so I may do the listening and planning parts before and come back and to the evaluation type activities in the evenin... Fri, 14 Jun 2013 22:52:53 EST Not Used to Having a Choice of Clothes http://www.sparkpeople.com/mypage_public_journal_individual.asp?blog_id=5386361 I think I need advice on how to find motivational pictures. I know I can choose little quotes and whatnot - but I like pictures of what I want my life to look like then - or what I want to do.

I've been looking for pictures of clothing that I would like to wear once I am slimmer. I'm having a hard time finding things - I have a feeling it's from years of just wearing whatever I can find in my size 22. But I've always like crochet tops.
Here's what I found that I thought fit ... Tue, 11 Jun 2013 22:36:53 EST Zumba, zumba, zumba (please!) http://www.sparkpeople.com/mypage_public_journal_individual.asp?blog_id=5385161 I've got so much to say and so little time!!
Eating went okay today but I am going to plan ahead for tomorrow. So far I've been lucky in that I've had wha I needed on hand to make good choices.
My motivational pic for the day is a group of women (some older) doing Zumba. I'm excited about doing this - not sure how yet. It looks like so much fun. Plus I've got to get some strength back in my legs before I do.

<img src="http://photos-ak.sparkpeople.com/nw/9/0/l9066752... Mon, 10 Jun 2013 22:24:19 EST Two posts in one day http://www.sparkpeople.com/mypage_public_journal_individual.asp?blog_id=5383888 In trying to keep with my Spark Coach assignment for today - I'll list a few of my time-wasting activities and some ways to fix them.

Wasting time:
1. I spend way too much time online - either reading Facebook, working on genealogy projects, Checking Twitter and reading blogs. I am missing out on reading, television and projects like digitizing photos, decluttering my house, working in the yard and going on little trips outdoors.
2. I tend to flit from thing to thing... Sun, 9 Jun 2013 22:34:15 EST End of 1st Week Weigh-In :) http://www.sparkpeople.com/mypage_public_journal_individual.asp?blog_id=5383834 Well I need to announce that I am now 4.5 pounds lighter than last Sunday! That's got to be somewhat of a relief to my knee and hip joints.
(P.S. Oh my gosh - I was just reviewing today's comments/mail and found that I lost 8 lbs!. Not sure how that is possible except that I weighed at night the first time after a full day and at my weigh-in this morning it before eating anything. I have been "going" a LOT this past week so might be some water retention that is being undone as well. W... Sun, 9 Jun 2013 21:57:25 EST Heidi my corgi and progress http://www.sparkpeople.com/mypage_public_journal_individual.asp?blog_id=5382835 My walk tonight was the best one yet. I walked for 16 minutes and I walked 50% farther than the first night. I did my stretching after I got back home. I felt good the whole time. This gives me hope.
Here's a pic of Heidi from yesterday:

Today was my first time with SparkCoach. I set my FastBreak Goals which I started today.
1. Eat 2 fruits or veggies each day.
2. Stretch for 5 minutes ... Sat, 8 Jun 2013 21:53:48 EST Warning - Donut pic http://www.sparkpeople.com/mypage_public_journal_individual.asp?blog_id=5381812 Today was National Donut Day and I enjoyed my jelly donut every bite. I did eat healthy the rest of the day but my meals were higher fat than usual and by the end of the day I am about 500 cal over. I'm comfortable with that because I have had a pretty successful week otherwise.

See that jelly one - that's the one I ate :)

I'm relaxing after dinner and looking forward to my short walk with Heidi. I'll ... Fri, 7 Jun 2013 19:46:47 EST Good Day - not quite as tired http://www.sparkpeople.com/mypage_public_journal_individual.asp?blog_id=5380801 I managed to take Heidi out for another short walk after dinner.
I'm not really having much of a problem sticking to my calorie limit. The past couple of years losing and gaining weight I have learned a few tricks. The first week is usually not that hard until it dawns on you that this diet thing is a lifestyle change and will take the rest of my life.
Will I get over that barrier that always pushes me back? I sure hope so.
I came across a website/book about making the bes... Thu, 6 Jun 2013 21:46:35 EST Long but satisfying day http://www.sparkpeople.com/mypage_public_journal_individual.asp?blog_id=5379644 This week has been going by fast and today was a long one. Up at 6, work 8-5, cook dinner (easy chicken and rice), visit my mom from 7-8:30, then back home where I decided to take advantage of the light and take Heidi for a walk.
I am still struggling with walking any distance and cut my walk a little shorter than Sunday's. Two neighbor men stopped me to chat - both liked Heidi (she's a corgi) and it's been ages since I've been out with her. She needs it as much as I do. I felt pretty g... Wed, 5 Jun 2013 21:58:17 EST Week ends on a tired but hopeful note http://www.sparkpeople.com/mypage_public_journal_individual.asp?blog_id=5376050 I've enjoyed learning about Sparkpeople today and connecting with a few people. I'm especially relieved to find some fellow arthritis sufferers that have found ways to deal with the pain and stiffness. This is the Challenged by Arthritis team.
Today was fairly busy and I am tired and sore just from getting out to go over and visit my mom and then grocery shopping. Not to mention cooking breakfast, cleaning up today's dishes and getting in a load or two of laundry. Becoming tired so qui... Sun, 2 Jun 2013 22:03:32 EST Late night thoughts http://www.sparkpeople.com/mypage_public_journal_individual.asp?blog_id=5375154 On television tonight I overheard a commercial about Alzheimer's. It's a scary thought that I might end up like this as it runs in the family. How can I make the most of the years that I do have left? Get in better shape, at least as much as possible.
And that's really why I joined Sparkpeople. 249 Sat, 1 Jun 2013 23:50:27 EST
