My doctor agreed and took me off of the cholesterol meds (6 Jun 13) and I was weaned off of the BP meds (27 Jun 13). I've lost about 6 lbs in the time frame and am inching toward my second goal of breaking the 180 mark to get out of the "obese" range and get into the "overweight" range (about 10 or so pounds to go). I haven't been really doing any exercise for over a month as I had sprained three toes on my left foot pretty good - I tried going back to exercising too early and hurt them even worse. Still doing Atkins and e... It took about a week and a half to shake it.

I finally went back to Jiu Jutsu training today and it was a serious workout - I think I slightly sprained part of my left foot and have a blister (mat burn) about the size of a quarter on my right foot - not to mention the muscle aches.

My ukulele class is great - learning a lot - can't wait for the next class.

I'm still on ... Yesterday I clocked in at 199.8 and today I weighed in at 198.4. I'm declaring victory over the 200 lb mark (prior to my Monday weigh-in). Hooray!

This milestone comes durning the week I developed a stye in my eye (which is finally going away after five days) and an irritating cold (which is finally going away too after four days). I haven't really been able to exercise while I've been sick, so I was sort of surprised when I had a "whoosh" moment - esp... The last plateau lasted well over three weeks. Ugh! And just before the 200 lb threshold.

Still on the Atkins program, but can only ride my bike one day a week to work (instead of three) because of a shift in work hours - hurts my calorie expenditure a little. The ride was amazing - the water was a deep blue - not like you see at the pier - no wonder they call it navy blue. It was pretty fun, but the doggone whales are prettty fast when they appear that by the time I point and my camera clicks (actuation to shutter too slow for this) the whales are almost back in the ocean. We'd have to stop our engines when we got close to them - and then the pitching and rolling of the boat would start - whal... The scale shows that I have lost about half a pound from Monday. I didn't go to Jiu Jutsu today to allow my neck, back and wrist to get well - my body's been nagging me to take a day off to heal a little bit. I rode my recumbent stationary bike for 45 minutes today to put in a little exercise and I'm also doing some spring cleaning around the apartment. I went through all of the clothes in my closet and pulled the ones that are too... Sat, 2 Mar 2013 23:22:00 EST Little by little... http://www.sparkpeople.com/mypage_public_journal_individual.asp?blog_id=5261422 My body hurts. I just came back from Jiu Jutsu and my neck hurts. I took Alleve and hopefully the ache diminishes somewhat. But on the bright side, it looks like I may still be losing after getting off my 3-4 week plateau - albeit slow - 1 lb from last Saturday to this Saturday. It may not seem like a lot to some, but I'll be ecstatic if it holds up for my weigh-in on Monday.

And just as importantly, I went to work in some trousers that I hadn't worn in two weeks and, believe... Sat, 23 Feb 2013 20:21:30 EST 3-week plateau over... http://www.sparkpeople.com/mypage_public_journal_individual.asp?blog_id=5253213 I've finally broken thrugh a plateau that I've been on for well over three weeks. Since last Friday to today (8 days), I've lost 4.6 lbs. Hopefully I don't gain any weight between now and my weigh-in on Monday. And I hope this weight loss keeps on going a little bit longer before the inevitable next plateau starts.

GLTA! I'm thinking (or at least I'm hoping) that my body is ready to get off this plateau and lose more weight. I'm crossing my fingers for a good weigh-in on Monday. I'm feeling good (except for the after workout muscle aches - good thing I took an Aleve before class). I commuted by bike ... The ketosticks are showing a deep purple. I am still doing induction levels even though I am several weeks into Atkins.

I'm eating on program. I made roast pork belly with crunchy skin last Saturday and it was delish! In fact, I'm making the roast again today. (And I'm gonna finish it!) http://www.sparkpeople.com/mypage_public_journal_individual.asp?blog_id=5214984 I've started on my journey again - 26 Nov 12. As of today, I 've gone from 224.2 to 212.4 - so I've lost about 12 lbs. This means that I have about 62.5 more lbs to go until I get to my goal weight. I've been exercising fairly regularly - right now I'm trying to ride my bike back and forth to work for at least 3-4 days a week (11.8 mile round trip). I'm low carbing because that's the only way I can seem to lose weight. GLTA! I'm down 5.4 lbs for the week (212.0 to 206.6) and am exercising every day. BTW I got the 1000 SparkPoint goodie thingy on the wheel - I was shocked. I thought it was going to add to my sparkpoints, but it only gave me spark goodie credits.

Hoping to keep this going... I started back on the induction phase of the Atkins diet on New Year's. Right now, I'm 207.8 - down from 212. I'm back to exercising everyday. I've returned to riding my bike to work every day (even through there is snow/ice on the ground in places - it feels like my bones are rattling riding through pitted, packed snow and ice). Right n... Wed, 17 Nov 2010 13:08:59 EST Atkin's Haiku http://www.sparkpeople.com/mypage_public_journal_individual.asp?blog_id=3789298 I've tried a lot of diets and low carb is the only diet that I could ever stay on for a long period of time. This doesn't mean I don't yearn for sweet things from time to time - especially when I smell fresh baked Krispy Kremes (thank God for Splenda), the same as when I yearned for things when I was on a low calorie diet (what I wouldn't do for a nice and juicy steak). As Vince Lombardi said, "It's not whether you get knocked down, it's whether you get up." I've always been exercising and getting my water in - but it has been a challenge to get back into the swing of things food tracking-wise.

Diligence paved the w... Sat, 18 Oct 2008 20:31:48 EST Control (Or lack thereof) http://www.sparkpeople.com/mypage_public_journal_individual.asp?blog_id=1510192 I'm really depressed. My weight's creeping up, I missed the stock market move on Monday, and my football team's offense is self-destructing. The latter two I can't control, but I CAN do something about the former. I don't know why I can't seem to get back on the bandwagon - I do pretty good for breakfast and lunch - but after lunch, it's a free-for-all - and I know I'm not supposed to do it, but I can't seem to stop it. After gaining and losing and gaining, I finally held the line and did not gain this week. I am rededicating myself today to doing my nutritional tracker. Within the last four weeks I've went from 211.2 to 213.6 to 210.0 and then 214.6 today. It's not that I can blame it on a plateau either - I know exactly what's going on: vacation, birthday, going out to eat. Last night I went to a party and, as Forrest Gump said, "That's all I have to say about that."

One good thing is that I'm still getting my exercise in - I'm putting in a little over 7 miles a day in my bicycle commute to work.
