Sun, 11 Nov 2012 12:54:31 EST Moderation http://www.sparkpeople.com/mypage_public_journal_individual.asp?blog_id=5125268 I found a message board and team today that soothed my soul. That balanced approach sounds like a lifestyle that I can maintain long term. <BR> <BR> I have been reading a book about intuitive eating and yesterday's perfect day was really a direct result of focusing on what I really want and n... Mon, 5 Nov 2012 19:00:28 EST A perfect day! http://www.sparkpeople.com/mypage_public_journal_individual.asp?blog_id=5123115 I have been on Sparkpeople for several years on and off. I do really well when I track my food and exercise. But yesterday I had an experience I have never before had in all my tracking. I was in the goal range for every nutrient I track! All of them! Calories, protein, sugar, fiber, sodium, potassium, fat, carbohydrates, and whatever else I am forgetting! Thu, 1 Nov 2012 09:02:41 EST Thinking about Thanksgiving http://www.sparkpeople.com/mypage_public_journal_individual.asp?blog_id=5117859 So I read the articles about the number of calories in an average Thanksgiving meal, then the slimmed down version. With one serving of every item on the list, the total was 1100 calories, but the article said the average is 2200. I don't really need or want 2 servings of green bean casserole but substituing steamed green beans just doesn't work for me. I don't do morning exercise. It leaves me cranky and tired all day. Afternoon is my favorite time because I can work out with my hubby, and evening is when the best classes are offered. I'll wait for the visualization of someone going for a walk instead of watching tv every evening. The school raises money for the PTA by having students collect pledges for the miles they walk. The mileage ranges from half a mile for the kindergarden up to 10k for the 8th grade. The fifth grade will eventually complete the flying pig in May, so this is their first long walk to get an idea of how far they can go. I am really proud of how they raise money by doing something healthy instead of selling candy!
