I had my boyfriend bring me a banana when he picked me up from work, and I did stop at Tim Horton's before my hair appointment. I was going to get a hot chocolate but I decided to get a tea with a splash of milk instead, and I grabbed two timbits instead. It's not a healthy snack but it's small and minor compared to a full donut or cookie. I was feeling pretty okay... Thu, 30 Oct 2014 12:35:00 EST Small challenges to overcome today http://www.sparkpeople.com/mypage_public_journal_individual.asp?blog_id=5807035 Today comes with a few challenges. The main one will be dinner, and the second is exercise.

I finish work at 5. I have to be at a hair appointment at 6. My boyfriend has to be at a tattoo parlor for 6 as well. He's dropping me off a little early so he can get to his appointment on time. So we're kind of stuck not eating dinner until later, 7:30 at the least. I'm usually famished by 5, and we usually eat by 6.

The second is exercise. The weather has really taken a downtu... Wed, 29 Oct 2014 14:48:21 EST Making progress with stress management http://www.sparkpeople.com/mypage_public_journal_individual.asp?blog_id=5806352 Yesterday, when I was making dinner, I was confronted by a dirty cutting board and dirty spatula, a rack full of clean bowls, and a boyfriend watching tv on the couch. Naturally, when it came time for me to use the cutting board, on a bit of a time crunch, as I was trying to sync my sauce with my boiling pasta, I became extremely agitated that he had "started" the dishes but left our tiny counter covered in them when I had to cook.

So naturally, I went over to give him crap about i... Tue, 28 Oct 2014 13:23:19 EST Stress Journal #4: The physical edition http://www.sparkpeople.com/mypage_public_journal_individual.asp?blog_id=5805732 I've been feeling under the weather since Saturday. It was my goal to exercise this weekend, but I took naps instead- and I needed them. Usually when I nap I end up staying up later but not this weekend, I was in bed before midnight both days.

The thing is, I feel like I'm on the cusp of illness. Like, it's all very mild right now but if I were to exert myself too much or expose myself to the cold for too long I'd end up with a full blown flu or cold.

I also had a tatto... Mon, 27 Oct 2014 13:48:09 EST Stress Busting Goals http://www.sparkpeople.com/mypage_public_journal_individual.asp?blog_id=5805678 Challenge goals, following review of stress journal:

1. Exercise consistently, at least 10 minutes a day, at least 5 days a week.
2. Aim for 7 to 8 hours of sleep every night.
3. Create a flexible timeline for financial goals by the end of the challenge.
4. Continue to de-clutter tiny apartment. Aim to go through at least 1 box a week.
5. Aim to do at least 3 de-stressing activities per week. Reading a book, solo walk, or walk with a friend.

I wi... Mon, 27 Oct 2014 11:58:32 EST Stress Journal #3 http://www.sparkpeople.com/mypage_public_journal_individual.asp?blog_id=5804544 Yesterday started off pretty well. I was busy at work but it wasn't too crazy. I knew I was going to a party later, and earlier in the evening. I had an action plan.

But then my plan derailed and I lost my mind.

You see, a few years ago when I was initially losing weight, I took the time to go through fast food menus and figure out what were my diet friendly and vegetarian friendly options. I knew I had a party to go to so I decided on getting Burger King, but it was rus... Sat, 25 Oct 2014 14:00:19 EST New rewards system- because I deserve it! http://www.sparkpeople.com/mypage_public_journal_individual.asp?blog_id=5803421 Well as of today, I weigh 168.5lbs. I'd like to weigh 130lbs by June. Anyways, I'm making a list of motivators to keep me moving!

165lbs = new nail polish, lip stick, or other piece of make up.
160lbs = a pretty new necklace or earrings
155lbs = new nail polish, lip stick, etc. OR fun new camera film
150lbs = manicure or mani/pedi depending on price
145lbs = new nail polish, lip stick, etc. OR fun new camera film
140lbs = Groupon! Either fitness, activity... Thu, 23 Oct 2014 12:58:29 EST Official Stress Busting Challenge, Stress Journal #2 http://www.sparkpeople.com/mypage_public_journal_individual.asp?blog_id=5803069 I started the day off well. I got 8 hours of sleep in, had enough time to get ready this morning, and was feeling pretty good that I joined this challenge.

Work was a little stressful. My boss is a gong show and he is pretty bad about sticking to a payday schedule. My paycheque is almost a week over due now and I'm getting stressed. I have bills and rent due, on top of a booked tattoo appointment on Sunday!

Then there was the bickering match with my boyfriend. Let it be... Wed, 22 Oct 2014 22:42:46 EST Official Stress Busting Challenge, Stress Journal #1 http://www.sparkpeople.com/mypage_public_journal_individual.asp?blog_id=5802125 Here I am, starting the official stress busting challenge.

It's come to this.

I am in the throws of the quarter life crisis, or as I call it, the life crisis. It's starting to become clear to me what I want out of life, but it's getting there that's weighing on me. I'm going to start listing things that are stressing me.

1. My weight gain. I met the man of my dreams in January, when I wasn't expecting to, and when I had reignited my commitment to Spark People.... Tue, 21 Oct 2014 12:13:08 EST 5 days of the 30 Day Shred- DONE! + Feeling Good http://www.sparkpeople.com/mypage_public_journal_individual.asp?blog_id=5591181 The song of the day is "Feeling Good" by Nina Simone. So if you've never heard it or it's been awhile, you should go listen to it right now. Because it's pretty much the greatest.

Yesterday I finished day 5 of Jillian Michaels 30 Day Shred. It's amazing how fast the body adjusts to exercise. It clearly wants to be in shape. It's a lot easier to get through than on that first day. I'm glad I kept pushing through. I'm taking a rest day today, and then heading back in for the last 5 ... Sun, 12 Jan 2014 12:22:02 EST Day 2 of Jillian Michaels 30 Day Shred + Diet stuff http://www.sparkpeople.com/mypage_public_journal_individual.asp?blog_id=5586099 Guys! Dudes! Bros!

My butt is like, so totally sore from all those squats. Also my chest is like, so totally tight. And my abs are like, so totally tense and engaged.

So I did the second day of the 30 day shred, and well, I did better. I pushed through the abs and the cardio, and modified the strength where I had to. Actually, I just held no weights during the strength exercises. I only have 5lb weights, and quite frankly, they wear me out and I lose my form super fast. ... Tue, 7 Jan 2014 20:22:29 EST Day 1 of Jillian Michaels 30 Day Shred http://www.sparkpeople.com/mypage_public_journal_individual.asp?blog_id=5585101 WOW! She kicked my butt that's for sure. The warm up wasn't too crazy, but then we started the 3-2-1, which sounded not too bad in theory on the DVD, but it was intense. Her strength moves were super intense, and I have a really weak upper body. It made it hard to push through the cardio. Because of it, I've decided I need lighter weights. 5lbs is too much when I'm not counting reps, just the clock, at least in this stage of the game.

About halfway through the DVD I couldn't really... Tue, 7 Jan 2014 00:11:27 EST Rewards for goals reached? I think so. http://www.sparkpeople.com/mypage_public_journal_individual.asp?blog_id=5583216 So I've been thinking about giving myself rewards for every goal reached.

Since I am at 152lbs now, I figured my rewards would start at 145lbs.

145lbs = new nail polish, lipstick, or other piece of make up
140lbs = new earrings
135lbs = same as 145lb reward, but subject to change
130lbs aka GOAL = new tattoo or piercings!

I figured these would be good incentives for me.

To anyone who reads this- do you have incentives for goals reach... Sun, 5 Jan 2014 16:37:34 EST Yesterday I was a train wreck, but I am still rolling. http://www.sparkpeople.com/mypage_public_journal_individual.asp?blog_id=5582072 Well the past three days I have been back on track towards my goals. I'm eating decently, packing healthy snacks, eating plenty of greens and taking in lean proteins. I've also been keeping up pretty well with my yoga. I've been doing Gaiam's Yoga for Beginners, with Rodney Yee and Coleen Saidman, in the morning after my smoothie and spark people check in, and in the evening before bed. I'd like to get a bit better at it before I even consider going to a yoga studio. It's a huge financial com... Sat, 4 Jan 2014 16:24:00 EST A plan for 2014, and a plan for January. http://www.sparkpeople.com/mypage_public_journal_individual.asp?blog_id=5578857 Well, it's the beginning of a new year. That means, it's time to set some goals/resolutions.

The main resolution is to make exercise a regular part of my life. I'm not going to resolve to exercise for 2 hours. 6 times a week. But exercising for even 20 minutes, 3 times a week is good and will improve my life. My grandma told me she tries to exercise 5 times a week, I think I can be as fit as her.

My spark resolution is to lose weight to weigh 130lbs. Right now, that's a... Thu, 2 Jan 2014 01:07:23 EST Day 7 of 30 http://www.sparkpeople.com/mypage_public_journal_individual.asp?blog_id=5462122 So I am now a quarter of the way finished my 30 day challenges... eep! Starting to feel a difference too! They're going to start getting really challenging (if you will) after tomorrow's rest day!

Today I did:

40 sit ups
20 crunches
20 leg raises
30 second plank
and 80 squats

My lower body is definitely fatigued! I'm also getting better at the sit ups and leg raises! Diet is still going well, I might have to eat out of the house a bit today... Wed, 21 Aug 2013 14:37:33 EST Day 6 of 30 (or 1/5 of the way there!) http://www.sparkpeople.com/mypage_public_journal_individual.asp?blog_id=5461191 Well here's day 6! So far healthy eating has been good. I have yet to encounter a set back. Which is good. Day 4 was a rest day (yay!) and Day 5 I followed the plan and did 20 minutes on the ARC Trainer at the gym. My hope was to get in a full hour of cardio, but my friend and gym buddy has another ovarian cyst and though she didn't mention it til we were at the gym already, I didn't want her to hurt herself. So she did an easy ride on the recumbent cycle and some leg extensions while I gave ... Tue, 20 Aug 2013 16:02:38 EST Day 3 of 30 http://www.sparkpeople.com/mypage_public_journal_individual.asp?blog_id=5458502 Well, today was another scorcher heat wise. I weighed myself today, 154.5lbs. 11 up from the start of summer- wow. Started a flat belly, clean eating diet today. Well, a lifestyle change, but I'm going to try strictly adhering to it for the majority of the time. Sometimes I drink. A lot. I'm going to try to cut back though.

Did my ab & squat challenge workouts this morning. Phew! The squats are crazy.

25 sit ups
10 crunches
10 leg raises
15 second plank <B... Sat, 17 Aug 2013 23:25:52 EST Day 2 of 30 http://www.sparkpeople.com/mypage_public_journal_individual.asp?blog_id=5457537 Phew I am sweating, it is 31 degrees outside, I'm very crampy, and I just did day 2 of the abs and squat challenge. That is:

20 sit ups
8 crunches
8 leg raises
12 second plank

and 55 squats.

The abs are pretty manageable, but the squats really make me sweat. But, a round bum = worth it. Gonna stretch then seek out dinner! Fri, 16 Aug 2013 20:29:59 EST Back and giving myself a challenge http://www.sparkpeople.com/mypage_public_journal_individual.asp?blog_id=5456678 Well I've done what I normally do over the summer, which is get off the healthy eating and exercise train and indulge in patio burgers and beers. I also worked an overnight job that had me working and commuting for 16 hours a day, 7 days a week. After that, I went a bit crazy in the socializing department. Needless to say, I'm back where I started with SP and 12lbs up from my last blog.|

Sigh. But that's what life is like I guess. I just need to refocus. I've decided to do the 30 d... Thu, 15 Aug 2013 23:16:58 EST There's no time for me http://www.sparkpeople.com/mypage_public_journal_individual.asp?blog_id=5368570 Well, I've really let slip over the past week or so. I haven't been tracking my food, nor have I been eating particularly well. I also haven't really fit in any exercise, and I've been drinking more too. Yet I still lost half a pound. I think this is because my basal metabolic rate is a lot higher than this website estimates. I have worked all but two days in May so far, and I'm near the end of a 24 day streak, with several double shifts in there. My eating is pretty pooey even on days I try ... Sun, 26 May 2013 16:59:12 EST Making progress, and it feels pretty cool. http://www.sparkpeople.com/mypage_public_journal_individual.asp?blog_id=5345848 Well I did my weekly weigh in today. I lost 3lbs this week, so I'm now down to 147lbs! That's where I was two months ago before I moved back home. I'm pretty happy. I want to lose 6lbs before my birthday on June 8th! :)

Had a cheat day today, and split a plate of nachos with my friend. I'm also pretty bad with making my workouts, though when I do go I make them count. My friend and I did go for a walk around the river today, which was nice.

Next week my work schedule is ... Sun, 5 May 2013 01:12:26 EST Calories out, protein intake where it should be. http://www.sparkpeople.com/mypage_public_journal_individual.asp?blog_id=5344611 Why hello there! A quick update on things.

I had a cardio workout last night after work, where I used the recumbent bike, the arc trainer, and the elliptical, 20 minutes each. In total, I burned 602 calories. I'm pretty happy about that. It's about 60 calories more than my previous cardio workout. Still have to get a strength training workout in this week, so either tonight or tomorrow, as well as another cardio workout. I really don't mind working out after work though so I might... Fri, 3 May 2013 17:02:59 EST Dayuuuum girl. I'm tired. http://www.sparkpeople.com/mypage_public_journal_individual.asp?blog_id=5341471 Phew! I've definitely been slacking on the "exercise" front. In my own defense, I'd like to point out that my allergies have really been kicking my butt. Stupid snow mold. Basically, every night I've been sleeping like crap because it takes me forever to fall asleep because I'm a side sleeper, which compresses my lungs, so I cough and hack like a lunatic. Then I wake up a few hours later to do it all over again. Horrible. So I haven't felt too inclined to workout when my energy levels aren't ... Wed, 1 May 2013 02:12:38 EST First entry... and here.. we... go... http://www.sparkpeople.com/mypage_public_journal_individual.asp?blog_id=5334831 I heard that title in the voice of Heath Ledger's The Joker. So there's that. This is probably going to be one of the most scattered first blog posts ever on this site. I can't help it, I'm a bit tired. It's 12:17 am and I worked today and went to the gym. That was tiring, I barely made it through my time on the elliptical. But I did, because of that pint of Keith's last night that pushed me over my calorie allowance yesterday.

What I did today was:

20 minutes on the st...
