Even when it has been difficult I try to stay on program the best I can. Since June of last year I have maintained a healthy BMI. I gained a few pounds for two reasons: #1 my doctor wanted me to and #2 When the iron pills were added, they worked with another to add weight. As soon as I knew that I started taking my iron at least 4 hours after the others. I haven't gained a pound since then. I haven... Sun, 18 Aug 2013 01:36:03 EST How Do You Do It? http://www.sparkpeople.com/mypage_public_journal_individual.asp?blog_id=5457755 ....... spreading the Spark I mean? In these past few months I have had so many doctors appointments and seen so many health care workers that I have spread Spark to all of them! I find that if I can show them the site with the realistic and healthy way of doing things along with the trackers, they are much more receptive than my trying to explain it. The thing is, I love the Sparking. I get so excited about it. I don't know how often I have mentioned in my blog entries how much Spark and ... Sat, 17 Aug 2013 04:18:08 EST It gets more difficult each time (Pictures) http://www.sparkpeople.com/mypage_public_journal_individual.asp?blog_id=5402676 I have only been able to be on the computer a little while each day. My exercise has been non existent. And my eating pattern? I'm embarrassed to say! Each time I fall, everything seems more difficult to do that I know are essential to Spark and a healthy lifestyle! This time I also bent a wired type office waste basket!! It wasn't a pretty site. But it has caused the start of it all. IT was awful for both of us! We had to wait until Monday morning to call AT&T about our modem. They promised a replacement in 2-3 days. They sent it over night, but the new one didn't work either. More calls and two more days later, we got another and got it working properly! Now, you have to remember our phone also goes through the modem, so we were le... Thu, 6 Jun 2013 23:28:25 EST New member joining the family soon http://www.sparkpeople.com/mypage_public_journal_individual.asp?blog_id=5365102 Just to let you all know, I've been hovering right around 130. I haven't gone down, but nor have I gained. To be honest, I've changed very little since I found out about the interference of the iron and the thyroid meds. I don't think it will make that amount of difference at this time. Not gaining tells me, what I'm doing is correct. Right now I'm about what I was in high school, so I continue to feel good about myself.

Now for the B-I-G news! Bob and I did a search on Petfin... The neighbor Bob has been helping so much left this morning with his daughter. She is taking him to NY to live with her. His dementia is really getting bad. He is going to be 88 soon. We know we'll never see him again in the neighborhood. I knew I would cry out loud and couldn't force myself to say goodbye.

Then Bob went to get Rexie up for his morning walk. Tue, 14 May 2013 17:28:01 EST Accepting the unacceptable AKA giving up on a goal http://www.sparkpeople.com/mypage_public_journal_individual.asp?blog_id=5350476 Ever since my first fall this spring, I have had a lot of time to digest all of the instructions from my various doctors. One of things I asked each was, when I'm stronger can I start a training program for running. Each one had the same answer - NO!! My primary doctor told me honestly he didn't think I would not or should ever. My goal was to be able to run at least a little of "26.2 With Donna" that is held in Jacksonville each year. It is the only national marathon for breast cancer awa... I have been really tired and weak today, so that seemed like a great option. That's when it happened. The phone started ringing and Bob answered. It was the clinic and they wanted to know if we could come in to discuss my lab results. Sure, no problem. Oh, and could we come within the hour? What? I didn't get a shower or shampoo my hair, but we made it in time. We didn't have to wait, but were taken in right away, wh... Wed, 24 Apr 2013 21:56:30 EST She said what? http://www.sparkpeople.com/mypage_public_journal_individual.asp?blog_id=5330109 Well, I went to my primary doctor yesterday . My appointment was right when he got an emergency call from the hospital and he had to leave. I had the option of waiting until Monday or see the physician's assistance. I opted to stay and see Pat. So Monday will be the "big" day. I go back to their office for a blood draw and then to the hospital. After the appointment I asked Bob, "what did she say?" Wednesday my BP was 99/81. Friday it was 95/70. But he said I was right in thinking it d... Both he and the attending doctor are very concerned about me having 3 falls within 6 weeks. The only meds we changed are he doesn't want me to take the ones for sleep as he says there is a side effect of dizziness and he doesn't want it to cause any other falls. Also I MUST use Pinkie, even in the house. Bob jokingly asked him if he should get a pair of handcuffs to attach me to the walker. Dr G said it might sound mean, but it would be better ... I wrapped the ankle and walked quite a bit. I was much slower than usual. Tomorrow I go to Gainesville to see my doctor over there. He tries to numb it, but puts the tube in right away. My ENT at least waits a few minutes and then I never feel it. Now I see the ENT in August and Dr K again the end of October. Then Sunday was Easter. Although it was a quiet day, we still had a lot going on. I wasn't able to each much of the beautiful dinner Bob made us, but what I did have it was very good. The menu was baked ham with pineapple, mashed potato, and brussel sprouts. I had more of the sprouts than anything. Only two very small bites of ham, one forkful of the potatoes, 3 sprouts, and one pineapple ring. That was it. I couldn't ... They are also have her form in the review committee to see if she will be okay for help because of all the falls indicating her becoming frail. Hopefully that will be one problem taken care of for us. The moe help she gets, the less worried I will be. She isn't i... She promised she'd be careful, but when i got home, she had fallen again. At least she was inside this time and on carpet and not cement. It was the same side as before and her head hit the end table. She was really hurting and didn't try to hide it from me. i think this one really worried her as no one was here to help her. I told her I wouldn't go anywhere else without her ever again. She got her stubbo... Her eyes seem to be what bother her most. The doctor says sometimes these symptoms can last a month or two and that we shouldn't be concerned unless instead of staying the same, it gets worse. She isn't very talkative, but when she is it seems she goes on forever. One thing that bothers her is she isn't able to take care of her teams. I told her that was silly that all of you would understand. She also ha... Fri, 15 Mar 2013 23:51:23 EST An update http://www.sparkpeople.com/mypage_public_journal_individual.asp?blog_id=5279865 Here is the latest on Ev. She still is sore. No broken bones, at least. She does have a concussion. If she hits the spot, she gets very nauseous and has gotten sick over it. She is constantly tired and weak. She's also not very hungry, but appears to be gaining weight. That is probably because she finds it difficult to do her exercises. But all of you know how stubborn she is. She keeps on doing her best. She still doesn't remember what happened other than she tripped on something and ... We were getting ready to go to Gainesville for her appointment with her therapist when she tripped on the hose and feel on the cement in the carport. She hit so hard, her head bounced off the cement and hit a second time. She also landed on her side. She didn't answer me for some seconds so I think she may have been out. Before we could walk to the truck, she had two lumps on her head and her hip really hurt. After I helped her into the truck, I went back in... Once more something that I felt would be easy was a lot more complicated than I believed. This is the challenge I took to write so many words telling the story of one of my ancestors. I chose my mother, but most of the stories ended up being a series of facts. I really didn't put her into situations. I'm going to continue with writing these until I cover all that I know as fact.

As for the weekly challenge of doing something ne... It went out sometime early this morning and wasn't back on until late afternoon. This seems to becoming more and more often. During one of my deep depressions on the down side of the bipolar, was when it happened. I'm guessing this was 2006. I had just started seeing a therapist that my hubby's VA doctor arranged for me. Sat, 9 Feb 2013 22:31:19 EST Keep it Positive http://www.sparkpeople.com/mypage_public_journal_individual.asp?blog_id=5243455 Does this sound like you? You're a little late getting up in the morning throwing your routine out of whack. You don't have time for a healthy breakfast and since you forgot to make your lunch last night, you also don't have a healthy lunch to take to work. It all puts you in a bad mood. You have to work at it, but try to keep things as positive as you can. Instead of the negative, see what you can do to fix things. For one, take a piece of fruit with you for breakfast on the way. First of all I want to tell you about my something new I tried. It was belly dancing!! I really am enjoying this dvd for beginners. Rather than trying to do the entire thing through, I am doing it like I learned my majorette routines in high school. I am taking it by sections and learning a certain amount of moves at a time until I have them memorized. That way it isn't so difficult with each new move. I have 5 memorized already: two with the h... By then I'm usually so tired I do sleep! But one of the problems with being bipolar is when in a "high" you can go days without sleep. If you've been around Spark long enough and checked out a lot of the articles, you'll know we all need our 6-8 hours of sleep to be healthy. My doctor also gave me a sheet of some of the causes for ... I have chosen my mother as i feel she was such a phenomenal woman and really a leader of her times. She did things that aren't considered a big deal today, but were practically unheard of when she did them. To earn money for her second year of college, she travelled alone from OH to New York City to work as a nanny for a dentist's family. in 1939 she and two of her lady roommates from colleg...
