ERINBAKER2007's SparkPeople Blog ERINBAKER2007's Blog on SparkPeople, home of free diet plans and a healthy living community Making the decision

I am so very thankful I watched DDP's video about living life at 90%. It really resonated with me, and has made me take a really hard look at the excuses I have been making. I did several days of the energy video while I waited for the DVD's to arrive in the mail. I did fat blaster yesterday and tried out red hot core today. I think I may have done to many in a row and the front of my shoulder is hurting and my wrists are a bit sore. I think I will listen to my body and not d... Fri, 23 Oct 2015 01:28:59 EST Making great strides! I have successfully completed my 21 Day Sugar Detox and I feel amazing! There were days when it was hard in the first week or two but after that it wasn't hard anymore and I have been feeling on top of the world! I plan to continue eating a low sugar lifestyle as it makes me feel very good. I will slowly add back more fruit than I was eating but probably not more than 2 servings of fruit per day. I plan to continue eating large amounts of non-starchy vegetables and moderate starchy veggie... Tue, 26 May 2015 20:13:08 EST Going to keep going no matter what! It's been a while since I posted a blog entry. I've had ups and downs as far as sticking to my eating but when I do I feel excellent! I have started and completed the Bikini Body Mommy Challenge 2.0 which was 90 days long (six days of work one day of rest) and made some excellent progress! I lost 7 lbs and 19.25 inches on that challenge.

I started the next one, BBMC 3.0 and made it through 17 days of it and then the day before yesterday I somehow managed to injure my ankle. I... Tue, 5 May 2015 17:01:45 EST It can be that way sometimes. Well I ended up gaining back some of the weight I lost over the summer and I just didn't add it back to my tracker since I was kind of ashamed of it. But I am back to being honest with myself plus I have lost some of the regained weight so I felt I should get back to tracking with my weigh-ins. I am only doing them weekly now. I was having issues with weighing more and more and finally ended up doing it every day so I just stopped altogether.

Any ways I recently discovered tha... Sat, 27 Dec 2014 16:17:14 EST Moving forward I am doing it! I really am! I am losing the weight! It is coming off! I am working out and doing my darnedest to make healthy choices at every meal. I have goals to meet and one goal is to be in One-derland by the time summer ends! My family is getting healthier too! I make sure that even my children are have fruit and or veggies at every meal! I am having a beautiful freshly extracted veggie/fruit juice every morning for breakfast and am feeling great! Tons of energy! I am going to... Wed, 23 Jul 2014 01:38:58 EST Time to restart...again Whew life has been crazy these last few weeks. I can't believe that as of tomorrow we will have been living in our new house for a month! I am finally ready again to start the weight releasing again. Last month so much happened, moving, and traveling, and all sorts of other things. I have started again with my drinking 2 liters (8 cups) of water in the morning before I eat anything, and it feels so good. I don't really know why I stopped. I normally drink about 4 liters (16 cups) of wat... Sun, 6 Apr 2014 16:54:30 EST Progress for week 5 BLC 21 I haven't made a lot of progress as far as healthy eating and weight loss are concerned this time around. We moved from an apartment to our first house on the weekend of March 7th and have finally, pretty much, finished unpacking the boxes. We just celebrated my daughters 5th birthday yesterday so much caloric intake was quite high but it was a great time. I will try harder now that my house is unpacked. Please send me encouragement because I want to lose this weight! Mon, 24 Mar 2014 00:36:38 EST Back again! To a brand new start! So this month starts the beginning of my entire family's new life. We are slowly changing our eating patterns to that of the Eat for Health plan. We are cutting out processed foods and focusing on real whole plant foods and plant based foods. I have been working very hard to change own taste preferences and it is working. I am eating things now that I never would have even tried as a child

My whole family is embarking on this journey together. I am determined to cure my hus... Fri, 21 Feb 2014 22:15:33 EST Busy Busy Busy Been a while since I posted a blog but I have been fairly busy these last couple of weeks. My family has been looking for land to buy so we can build a house on it and in these last few weeks my husband and I have been looking a lot at different lots. We may have found one that we really like now just to see what all has to be done first before we put in an offer on it.

I haven't been on the scale lately but I am starting to like what I see in the mirror more and more. Some of m... Sat, 16 Nov 2013 00:50:50 EST I have made it to Month 3! Wow it is has been a little bit since my last blog post. I have been doing the best I can with what I have. My third month of Chalean Extreme started on Monday and oh boy I can tell I am in for some nice heavy duty workouts. After my first work out I was very sore but at the same time it felt good to be worked in a new way. That is part of what I like about Chalean Extreme, the workouts themselves change every 30 days!

I am so proud of myself to have actually made it to month 3... Wed, 30 Oct 2013 15:41:11 EST Yay back at it! Yes finally over being sick and I am back at working out full steam ahead! I think I have made some very good choices during the time while I was sick for two weeks. I worked on moderation and I was still able to lose weight while I was unable to workout. I will be continuing with moderation while I work out and plan to continue to lose weight and gain strength.

I have gotten back on track with my workouts and I am feeling rather sore but loving that feeling at the same time. ... Wed, 16 Oct 2013 19:17:23 EST A small dent Even though I have been down and out with this congestion I am happy to report that I am down some more weight as of my Sunday weigh-in. I am at 209.4 lbs and I am super happy! Even though my workouts have consisted of light walking and lots of house work this past week it would seem my dietary changes have made some difference. I hope to be able to take up at least the strength training again later this week or maybe postpone it to next week if it proves to be too much.

At le... Tue, 8 Oct 2013 16:02:11 EST A step backwards So it would seem that my working out on Wednesday actually turned out to be a bad thing. I am now fully down with a head cold. I can't breathe hardly at all, I am coughing up phlegm and I feel like I am in a fog. I have been coughing and sneezing so much my ribs are hurting. My throat is killing me and so working out is practically impossible right now. Though I am trying to make sure I am still moving around at least as much as I am sitting. Stuff like doing housework and walking aroun... Sun, 29 Sep 2013 15:35:30 EST Still pushing onward It is rather amazing to me that I am still working out and still doing all I can to eat the best that I know how. I pulled something in my outer leg on Saturday the day before my rest day. Now normally the old me would throw in the towel and say I'm done. Before injury would mean total and complete derailment. I would say whats the point, there is no way I am going to lose this weight and just stop working out and not care about what I ate. But not this time. I injured myself by pushing... Thu, 26 Sep 2013 02:08:34 EST Self Sabotage? There has been one thing recently that I just can't seem to get my head around. I have been doing excellent with making sure I get my workouts in and making sure they are effective. But it seems that when i am making progress and going strong I sabotage myself. Today I did my cardio interval routine which is pretty intense and then tonight I made chocolate chip cookies!! What am I doing!! At least I didn't eat them all. I only had 5. The chocolate in them is a little too dark for my ta... Fri, 20 Sep 2013 00:35:49 EST Surprised myself today After only two weight sessions into my second month of Chalean Extreme I have noticed that the cardio interval training sessions are not as hard to me as they were last month so now I don't have to modify as many of the moves. I feel much harder worked at the end of the workout now than I did last month due to the removal of certain modifications. I discovered today that the next time I do this work out I should be able to increase the weights I use!

Doing everyday things is st... Fri, 13 Sep 2013 02:06:54 EST 4th week of BLC coming to a close I think that taking part in this BLC (Biggest Loser Challenge) here on Sparkpeople has been a key point to helping me make sure I keep on keeping on with my exercise and still working really hard to figure out my nutritional needs. I have noticed some of my clothes fitting better and that doing the exercises I have been doing for the past month are getting slightly easier.

Good thing starting next week my exercises change a little to help keep things moving on their merry way! ... Sat, 7 Sep 2013 20:19:50 EST Getting stronger A large part of the workout program I am doing is about strength training. It is so crazy to think how much weaker I was 3 weeks ago. There were some lifts that the heaviest I could do was 5 lbs! But now 3 weeks later I am lifting 12 lbs! (per hand I might add) My sweet baby boy is a nice big healthy 20 lbs and he was so heavy to me when I started this program. I absolutely had to use a nursing pillow to be able to feed him right because my arms were just to weak to hold him for as long ... Wed, 4 Sep 2013 01:51:43 EST Hurry up Autumn! Phew it is super hot in my apartment today! I was hoping the lovely rain we had all day would cool down the apartment but I think it has just made it muggy. I love the rain and I love that up here in Washington we get the rain that cools down the temperature. I wish this apartment was made a little better so the air circulation would be more efficient.

I love the Autumn and can't wait for the cooler weather especially since once fall is officially here I will be most of the way ... Fri, 30 Aug 2013 01:00:28 EST Making Progress Well I have finished workout day 1 of week 3! I can't believe I made it through the 2-week slump. Or at least for me I tend to hit week two and be done. I am down 2 lbs since my weigh in last weekend. I was actually able to go outside and kick a ball around with my 4 year old daughter and while I didn't move very fast I was moving! My husband is definitely my rock in that he is keeping me going. I am seeing much improvement in his mood from day to day. He seems much happier and quicker... Mon, 26 Aug 2013 17:12:14 EST I must keep going It was not at all easy to get out of bed this morning to workout. It is the middle of the the second week of my working out and I am tired and sore. Normally this would be the time in most workout programs that I would be petering out and saying I was a failure. But I can't do that this time. I need to keep going. It is helping that my husband is working out with me. I need to hold on to that feeling I have when I am done with a work out. The feeling of accomplishment of finishing it, ... Thu, 22 Aug 2013 21:24:22 EST Unexpected things :) Well after my husband and I finished our weight lifting this morning and we both had showered and had our protein shakes right before he left to go to work this morning he turned around and said "thank you." "For what?" I asked "for being a positive influence and getting me to work out with you."

I was floored. Me be the positive influence? I just wanted him to workout because I know he was tired of being over weight and it is affecting he sleeping (he has sleep apnea) which i... Mon, 19 Aug 2013 13:04:24 EST One day at a time Woke up a little bit late today for working out but I was still able to drag myself to the living room and put in my workout DVD. Normally I would have just rolled over and gone back to sleep as I was both tired and sore. Sore because I am changing the shape of my body one day at a time, and tired because I am nursing my son and he woke up 4 times last night! Normally he only wakes up one time at about 04:30 and I can handle that but last night was something else. He is teething so that i... Sat, 17 Aug 2013 17:19:21 EST Puffing along being the example I was greatly en-heartened today when I put in my workout DVD and my husband joined in with me this morning! We pounded out the workout together and were both sweaty and tired by the end of it but that is okay! My 4 year old daughter also came out of her room and joined in as best as she could. My husband is seeing me make a change and he is tired of being overweight himself. So my pushing myself to keep on keeping on this time is making a difference in my household! This makes me so hap... Thu, 15 Aug 2013 16:31:41 EST It's time to be the change Okay this is it! I am done being in the 200+ lbs for my weight! My first goal is get under 200 lbs. I am currently 217.8 and that is going to change. I am going to be part of a sparkpeople BLC that starts tomorrow. I will be doing Chalean Extreme ( I have done this before years ago and it worked wonderfully) for the next 90 days. Lifting weights and cardio it is for me!

I know I will need people to check in with me because it is easy for me to lose motivation and stop worki... Sun, 11 Aug 2013 20:42:26 EST Change is coming It is crazy to think that in 20 more days (give or take) I will be the mother of not only 1 but 2 children. Part of me wonders how I am going to cope having a 3.5 year old and a newborn at the same time. I will not lie. I am terrified of how I am going to be able to do it all. My due date is 12 January and my husband will start night school on 21 January. He will be going from 1800-2200 hours Monday-Thursday. At that point I will be well and truly on my own with two kids. I am so proud... Sun, 23 Dec 2012 13:35:48 EST In such great pain today! Had another baby appointment yesterday. I am down to 24 days until my due date but the doctors think he will probably come sooner than that. My PGP pain is at an all time high today. I can hardly walk! I am desperately hoping for an earlier physical therapy appointment to help me get this pain under control. I can't take anything for it being pregnant and it is just absolutely miserable. It is disheartening knowing that not even giving birth will ease this pain though I am praying that ... Wed, 19 Dec 2012 13:00:28 EST 5 years and counting! Today I have been married to my best friend for 5 years. I love my wonderful husband. Even though we have hard times sometimes he is a good man and a good daddy. We have had a good run so far the past 5 years and I am looking forward to many many more years together. We will be starting our new journey with our son being born next month and we are both nervous and excited for this next step in our lives.

Sat, 15 Dec 2012 13:28:35 EST 30 days or so to go! I can't believe how close to the end of this pregnancy I am! I have 30 days left until my actual due date but I don't know if my baby will wait until then to be born. My husband is telling me he things the baby will come a week early. I don't know and won't know until baby makes his move. My daughter came 3 days before her due date so I guess it wouldn't really surprise me if this little one decided to come week early. I don't really care as long as he is healthy when he is born. He is... Thu, 13 Dec 2012 14:31:36 EST Slow changes Well for the past 3 days I have met my goals. I have done my 10 minutes of exercising and I have also made sure to drink 1 smoothie every day as well as 10-12 cups of water every day. I woke up fairly early this morning or at least much earlier than I usually wake up and I didn't wake up feeling exhausted. I mean sure the tiredness came on about an hour and a half after I woke up but then hey I am 34 weeks pregnant and being tired is not really all that unusual.

I have started... Tue, 4 Dec 2012 11:55:29 EST Honest admissons Exercise is literally painful for me at this point because my pelvic muscles are really loose this pregnancy. Since pretty much the time we got our positive pregnancy test my pelvic muscles have been hurting, at this point it hurts to walk or even to drive our stick shift car. I am hoping that delivery will ease up the pain so I can start walking for exercise again and I hope to get into a water aerobics class. I am currently around about 230 pounds maybe more, I don't get on the scale unl... Sat, 1 Dec 2012 14:51:42 EST One thing at a time I have discovered that my body seems to react much better to moderate strength training with a small amount of cardio than a large amount of cardio with a small amount of strength training. I was burning about 4500 calories a week with straight cardio and only a little bit of strength training, but was seeing absolutely no results whatsoever. I had about 2 weeks of no exercise at all due to a hospital stay with my 2 year old and then the rest of us were sick for a while. After that I had 2... Thu, 9 Feb 2012 04:59:51 EST Lets take it a chunk at a time Just finished reading the article about the 10% rule. If I do that at my current weight which is 177 that would be a 17 lb lose to aim for. Which would be 160. I haven't weighed that much since before I got married in 2007. So I will give this 10% rule a try. I am working out twice a day at least plus 5 days a week I walk my daughter to and from day care which equates to about 63 minutes of walking pushing my 30 lb daughter in her stroller. By the way is that weight I should be adding t... Sun, 15 Jan 2012 08:45:35 EST On my new life style path I am on my third week of daily walking. The first few days I only walked about 30-35 minutes a day; but I have worked my way up to 45-50 minutes a day. Most of those days I am pushing my daughter in her stroller and my route has some pretty good hills. I am most certainly feeling the burn. This is a routine that I will continue for the rest of my life, I have even gone so far as to purchase the "Walk Away the Pounds" workout DVDs so that I can continue even during the winter when I am st... Mon, 3 Oct 2011 02:46:34 EST New places, new things Well we have been in Germany a little over a month now, and I have made some great friends here. I cannot wait until the rest of our house hold goods arrive here so I can get back into my healthy life style. I didn't think quite far enough ahead about sending my workout dvds ahead, because I didn't think it would take quite this long for our things to get here. Luckily one of my friends here has lent us one of her strollers so I can at least go walking and learn my new surroundings. It is... Sun, 19 Jun 2011 05:43:43 EST In a funk I have been so out of the mood to exercise it is not even funny. I think part of it is the fact that we are getting ready to move and all the stress is just weighing me down. I have been very lucky to not gain any weight during this stressful time, but I have not lost any either, I seem to be stuck between 160-163 and it is starting to get very frustrating. I just do not know what I should be doing, I have thought about walking in either the morning or the evenings but I have yet to do it.... Thu, 14 Apr 2011 12:17:06 EST
