We will be releasing (in an artificial den) 2 black bear cubs that were rehabilitated when their mother was killed in September. When they were first taken they weighed 20 pounds each. Now they weigh 100 pounds, and are well fit to survive the winter and early spring.
We may not get a good look at the cubs because they are already in their den. We'll dig out a proper place for the den and cove... Mon, 14 Jan 2013 16:32:16 EST 2013 - Happy New Year http://www.sparkpeople.com/mypage_public_journal_individual.asp?blog_id=5183838 My first year in my official retirement I've managed to pack on the pounds.
Time to focus clearly and work hard at taking them off.
I'm squishing into my size 7 jeans as a reminder of how much I need to eat healthy! They are quite uncomfortable, so let's get busy shall we?
Each day brings a new opportunity to exercise more. I'm adding my old strength routine in again. I'll do it 3 times a week! I'm going to start right now :)
I was very shocked when I took measurements ... Tue, 1 Jan 2013 12:42:47 EST Feeling like a bloated sow. http://www.sparkpeople.com/mypage_public_journal_individual.asp?blog_id=4943835 I weighed on Friday morning. I was 139. Not that bad, but compared to 7 months ago it's significant and I feel every single pound. Especially this evening. My gut is bloated, my legs feel fat and when I sit my belly just hangs out.

I keep telling myself "today I'll really watch it and stay away from rice, corn tortillas and ice cream. But then I'll go out for an hour and a half run up the side of the mountain, and think I deserve a treat! That sort of thinking must be killing my ef... Tue, 26 Jun 2012 21:59:36 EST Enjoying life, possibly a bit too much. http://www.sparkpeople.com/mypage_public_journal_individual.asp?blog_id=4816561 To be more specific; hard cider and a decent gluten free beer, moose tracks ice cream, and community pot luck dinners!

It gets out of hand pretty quickly and before you know it, boom there it is, weight gain!

This week I'm focusing on logging in my calories, not cutting back yet, just making myself aware of what I'm puttin' in my pie hole, and then see where I can improve.

Finally acclimated to living at 8650 ft above sea level, I've already had 3 5k runs per ... Mon, 2 Apr 2012 10:59:00 EST New home & new routines. Happy in paradise! http://www.sparkpeople.com/mypage_public_journal_individual.asp?blog_id=4763218 Hello to all my sparkpeople friends! I guess I've been a bit AWOL on Sparkpeople. About one month ago we packed up and moved to the Rocky Mountains and anyone who's ever moved across states knows what a crazy time that can be!

I've purposefully not been tracking my nutrition. We had to throw out the old scale when we moved and we ordered a new digital one which I weigh in on every morning. I'm happy with my weight now, and feel I've settled into a life routine which maintains my go... Wed, 29 Feb 2012 10:57:04 EST Happy New Year! http://www.sparkpeople.com/mypage_public_journal_individual.asp?blog_id=4661552 Hello, and happy new year to all my sparkpeeps!

I've been absent for the last few weeks. We took a truckload of belongings to the Rockies and had a white Christmas there. Lots of snowshoeing, long walks, nachos, tamales and alcoholic cider, a 17 hour drive both ways and now I'm busy with last minute retirement details, boxes to tick, goodbye lunches and farewells... oh my goodness, it's no wonder I've no time to log in, let alone log my calories!

Pretty sure I've put on ... Fri, 6 Jan 2012 09:42:42 EST A look back at progress! http://www.sparkpeople.com/mypage_public_journal_individual.asp?blog_id=4607645 I used the wonderful Sparkpeople program to take a look back at my calories as average weekly totals over the coarse of this year since I started back with sparkpeople.
This is a lovely tool, and shows just how well I've done.
Here is a picture of the graph:

Since starting back I've lost 27 pounds! They were my UK vacation photos and I weighed 141.

I took some photos yesterday in my skin tight cute levis size 7 jeans. I thought it was time to post my progress visually, and that it might also help me to see, that yes I could stand to lose 6 more pounds.

I was quite tickled with this photo of me at 131

And if I hold m... Thu, 17 Nov 2011 10:14:29 EST Thanksgiving plans http://www.sparkpeople.com/mypage_public_journal_individual.asp?blog_id=4585051 Since our family is in the UK, it's just the 2 of us at Thanksgiving. This makes it easy for Willpower Woman to eat healthy during this famously gluttonous week in November!

We roast a small organic chicken, have mashed potatoes with skin but no butter, only a dollop of greek yogurt on top! Organic cranberry sauce, peas with organic gluten free mushroom soup (think sort of like a bean casserole only no beans or those high fat onion thingies) Steamed broccoli and carrots, no butter,... Tue, 15 Nov 2011 09:14:11 EST "Greedy Guts Girl" vs. "Willpower Woman" http://www.sparkpeople.com/mypage_public_journal_individual.asp?blog_id=4583458 I'm going through the same thing that many of my spark friends are going through right now.
I made a comment on GWG's blog this morning that perhaps Autumn is a hard time to lose weight because genetically our bodies want to store fat for the winter, not lose it. That's just my opinion, although I did read it somewhere once!!

We seem to keep sabotaging ourselves! For me, I'll have my food day planned out extremely well, and then the "greedy guts girl" in my head takes over! I ... Mon, 14 Nov 2011 09:48:40 EST Update on graft site. http://www.sparkpeople.com/mypage_public_journal_individual.asp?blog_id=4574262 I went to see my gum surgeon late yesterday and the good news to me was that I'd not busted a stitch. All was in tact, but the problem was that the graft site was bleeding internally (making a lovely pooled blood bruise on my back pallet) and a little externally, which tastes like, well, blood.
There's a healthy vein in there that refuses to close up. So he gave me a couple shots of local and tried to express it, but no massive blood came out, good I suppose. In the end he used some sur... Tue, 8 Nov 2011 09:13:36 EST Is it Thanksgiving yet? http://www.sparkpeople.com/mypage_public_journal_individual.asp?blog_id=4572485 Well, well. I had a gum surgery on Thursday which went real well. Apparently my bite was so off that my bottom teeth were just hammering the heck out of my front teeth, and they were wiggling alot, causing the bone to erode, and thus my gum on 2 front teeth had receded far too much.

I'd been eating alot of smoothies, and soft steamed veggies, which worked out nice, but yesterday we picked up some bbq'd carved Turkey meat, and I managed to bust a stitch in my palette (the graft site... Mon, 7 Nov 2011 09:44:13 EST Trick or Treat Trot 5k race http://www.sparkpeople.com/mypage_public_journal_individual.asp?blog_id=4561314 I did my race on Sunday, since I had a benefit show on Saturday.

This is the first race I've ever run in. I wondered how I would do, and you know what I totally surprised myself!

I ran it in 31 minutes and 1 sec!
I ran the virtual race on the gym treadmill.
I really pushed myself to run at a much faster pace than what I do normally considering I usually go for longer distances. Within 8 minutes my heartrate skyrocked to 180, but after the initial jolt to my s... Mon, 31 Oct 2011 11:48:15 EST Fundraiser this weekend! http://www.sparkpeople.com/mypage_public_journal_individual.asp?blog_id=4553903 In September over 1400 families lost their homes to the wildfires here in central Texas. I know several of these families, and many of them had livestock and pets that are being housed temporarily at other locations.

Hay is hard to come by, as this year saw the worst drought in decades. There is a forum that I belong to (because I'm a serious horse lover) who is putting together a benefit Horse show on Saturday with all proceeds going to help the equine victims of the fire. That's when we take the second to last truckload of possessions up to our new home nestled in the Rockies 8690 ft above sea level....
Our builder broke ground last week on the tiny one car garage we staked out Labor day weekend, and that's pretty exciting! He'll be pouring a slab this week, and he'll get the framing and metal roof up.
When we arrive in December we'll put on our snow clothes and hope... Tue, 18 Oct 2011 09:22:07 EST Birthday calories! http://www.sparkpeople.com/mypage_public_journal_individual.asp?blog_id=4533631 Yesterday was my birthday and I went for it!

2116 calories later... um, need I say more?

Ah but it was a wonderful day, actually it's been a wonderful week building up to my birthday. It started out with last Saturday getting on the scales and seeing the loss of 2 pounds put the biggest grin on my face early in the day!
132 lbs, I'm so pleased with that!

I had planned on trying my first attempt at making gluten free brownies.
You see usually we go ou... Thu, 13 Oct 2011 11:21:35 EST You're doing it ALL WRONG!!! http://www.sparkpeople.com/mypage_public_journal_individual.asp?blog_id=4521090 This is what leaps into my mind almost every time I read a post on the spark messages boards, (you know, the one that shows on the start page and catches your interest?). I get so frustrated whenever I go to those generic spark boards, so I just stick to my circle of great sp friends who are trying day in, and day out to do their best. They know what works for them and what doesn't work as well. I love my spark friends, and the great groups too, the rest of sparkpeople - not so much.
<... Wed, 5 Oct 2011 15:50:12 EST Being ill, and being well. http://www.sparkpeople.com/mypage_public_journal_individual.asp?blog_id=4516561 Last Friday I came down with a very bad urinary tract infection. I tried to kick it myself by first in the morning having a large glass of water with 2 teaspoons of baking soda, and tons and tons of water. Some ibuprophen for pain of course, which masked my symptoms and made me think I was getting better.
By the evening I was feeling miserable, but putting on the brave face, and drinking large amounts of the 100% pure cranberry juice (no sugar in it) and taking more pain killers.
S... Mon, 3 Oct 2011 09:41:50 EST Reached my October Goal EARLY!! http://www.sparkpeople.com/mypage_public_journal_individual.asp?blog_id=4504416 That's right, I stepped on the scale Saturday morning, and it read 134!
That's one pound under my goal weight of 135 that I wanted to reach for my 52 b-day on Oct 12!
How happy I am to have reached it early! Now I can focus on the next goal which is 125 before the new year. I did some research into it and by my calculations I should be able to reach it by November 1.
This site says to stay 136 I can eat over 2000 calories?!! NO WAY. If I did that I'd be up to 155 in no time. M... Mon, 26 Sep 2011 09:31:15 EST Treadmill calories burned VS Sparkpeople calories burned http://www.sparkpeople.com/mypage_public_journal_individual.asp?blog_id=4492497 There is a big difference between the two.
On Saturday I go to our apartment gym. They have a brand new PreCore treadmill which allows me to program in my age, weight, speed and time. It's a pretty impressive machine, and at the end of my run it gives me a workout summary which is very nice.
60 minutes total - 5.42 miles total - 532 total calories burned.
the first 55 minutes were spend running at a 10.5 mph pace the last 5 min spend walking at a 15 mph pace to cool down.
... Mon, 19 Sep 2011 09:52:22 EST Starving to DEATH this weekend! http://www.sparkpeople.com/mypage_public_journal_individual.asp?blog_id=4480360 Stepped on the scale and had LOST 2 lbs!!! So naturally my body thinks it's starving to death the whole weekend (lol)
Saturday we always go to the free gym. I got on the treadmill and ran 2 miles at 5.6 speed and then walked at 4.3 speed for the remaining 2.30 miles which gave me a cardio time of 60 minutes, burning 430 calories! Relaxed in the awesome hot tub and dipped in the pool for a couple laps. Saturdays rock, but wow was I hungry all day!
After a light lunch of 2 scrambled e... Mon, 12 Sep 2011 10:25:28 EST Time to step it up a notch! http://www.sparkpeople.com/mypage_public_journal_individual.asp?blog_id=4471125 After reading Mrs Shuck's blog, and since the scale hasn't moved since early August, I've decided I need to step it up a notch. I'm going to lower my caloric intake range by 200 calories. I read somewhere that it should get me out of this plateau. I don't want to add more exercise, because that just increases my appetite, I like my fitness minutes where they are. I may add an extra morning walk though, especially now that it's getting cooler here (yeah!)
This gives me a new range of 1050... Wed, 7 Sep 2011 09:22:30 EST The Labor Day Road Trip :-) http://www.sparkpeople.com/mypage_public_journal_individual.asp?blog_id=4469817 We left last Wednesday night at 8pm. I was smart to take that entire day off of work to do nothing but sleep in preparation for the 17+ hour long drive! I took a half a xanax and a couple benedryl and it was lights out for me from 8am to 11am, I had a quick lunch and then 2 more benedryl and I was out till 3pm.

Picked up Hubby at his work around 5:30pm then got home and we packed the truck, sorted the apartment and were off on the road at 8pm.
I had a very small cooler in th... Tue, 6 Sep 2011 16:07:25 EST At least I'm not ravenous today. http://www.sparkpeople.com/mypage_public_journal_individual.asp?blog_id=4454217 It must be pms week. Friday I spent most of my time at work summoning my will power, really putting it to the test, because I could have eaten a fridge full of groceries and still not have been satisfied.
That's how it starts for me, a ravenous appetite, insatiable, starving to death, can't shovel it into my mouth fast enough symptoms.
I've come to recognize it, which is half the battle. The other half is knowing how to not let it take over. I do the whole "volumemetrics" thing. Yo... Mon, 29 Aug 2011 09:58:39 EST Measurements are coming! http://www.sparkpeople.com/mypage_public_journal_individual.asp?blog_id=4445518 Measurements, hmm... every time I look at that word this morning it gets a little weirder looking. Ever have that happen? what is that about?

Last night I was looking (digging) through my bra and panty drawer looking for my cloth tape measure so that I could actually weigh and measure my body this coming Saturday morning. I FOUND IT!!

The last time I measured my body was exactly 1 year ago today.
I was in pretty good shape and weighed 138.
<img src="http://p... Wed, 24 Aug 2011 09:36:52 EST Hello Size 7, where have you been all my life? http://www.sparkpeople.com/mypage_public_journal_individual.asp?blog_id=4441635 This weekend was the "tax free" weekend. The state of Texas lets you buy clothing and shoes tax free. It's to help with back to school clothing, but really it's a ploy to pump up the economy. They've been doing it for several years now, and we take advantage of it too.

I took back a spare pair of Levis 524's size 9 jeans because I'm on my way down, and I know I won't be in 9's for much longer. So I tried on the 7's and wouldn't you know they fit! It's a pretty snug & sexy fit, but ... Mon, 22 Aug 2011 11:17:12 EST TRIUMPH - A story of high blood pressure http://www.sparkpeople.com/mypage_public_journal_individual.asp?blog_id=4436398 Introduction:
My mother was diagnosed with high blood pressure at the tender age of 40ish.
She was within a healthy range BMI, but she also never really got out of the house, never exercised indoors either, so she was put on a beta blocker and time passed. In her 60's she began having minor strokes. She'd pass out only to tell my father later. Brain scans clearly showed the minor strokes.
She was advised to exercise. Dad bought her a treadmill. I think she used it for a week or... Fri, 19 Aug 2011 10:09:48 EST Ipods http://www.sparkpeople.com/mypage_public_journal_individual.asp?blog_id=4427850 I've had one for a very long time. I think about 8 years now.
I retired my first 8 gig ipod, and got a new 80gig about 3 years ago.
Before the advent of ipods I would prerecord my own CDs to play on my portable CD player. Before that I made my own cassette tape mixes to jog to using my walkman.
And to give even more history when I was in high school (70's) I would carry around a portable cassette player with a hand crochet'd carrying case. I'd listen to tapes I'd made from s... Mon, 15 Aug 2011 09:57:20 EST A book recommendation. http://www.sparkpeople.com/mypage_public_journal_individual.asp?blog_id=4420738 I'm not a big reader. I simply don't have time. I always think I should be doing something more productive than reading. The only books I actually read are informative ones. I'm trying to find the time to finish a book that my acupuncturist handed to me several months ago, and said take your time reading it. She gave it to me because I was really craving sweets, and felt exhausted.
It's called:
REAL FOOD - What to eat and why
<img src="http://photos-ak.sparkpeople.com/nw/4/4/... Thu, 11 Aug 2011 11:57:45 EST New ambitious goal! http://www.sparkpeople.com/mypage_public_journal_individual.asp?blog_id=4414630 Yep, that's it. I have one.
I want to reach 125 by Jan 1st, 2012.
If I stay on track and stay within my calorie limits I can do it easy.
I did a quick look on another site. I plugged in my sex, height, weight, age, & activity level and here is what it calculated:

Wow that's promising!

I took a look at what I'm burning per day and this is what it calculated:

<i... Mon, 8 Aug 2011 14:16:42 EST Jogging, and the heat. http://www.sparkpeople.com/mypage_public_journal_individual.asp?blog_id=4407053 Before we left on vacation I'd been nursing my poorly knee which had been hurting like mad ever since I tried a new elliptical machine at the gym. I was under dr's care for the knee and it was feeling better, but not perfect up until we left.

We I was getting on the big plane I was sideways scooting over to get to the window seat and RIP! I felt something in that knee get torqued bigtime! OH MY GOODNESS it hurt like a mutha! I bit my lip and didn't say a thing, but in my head I wa... Thu, 4 Aug 2011 14:30:14 EST The perfect mindless snack! http://www.sparkpeople.com/mypage_public_journal_individual.asp?blog_id=4400429 I was famished and so I reached in the fridge for my bag of fresh cauliflower & broccoli and the Bolthouse Farm chunky blue cheese totally healthy yogurt dressing. Only 50 calories in 2 tablespoons, and still has that blue cheese bite to it without any nasty sweetner chemicals, no preservatives either!

So I sat and stuffed my pie hole and chomped and chomped enjoying every bite until I was full, and most definitely all chomped out.

The end result cost me 100 calories. I go every 4 months, they take 4 viles of blood a few days before my appointment so that when I see him he can tell me how good I'm doing.
I'm doing great. All my blood work looks fantastic.
I did not have radiation, and I refused the standard treatment of 5 years of tamoxifen. He doesn't like it that I'm not taking it, but it's not his body is it?!

If it weren't for the oncologist appointments I would totally forget I ever even had can... Thu, 28 Jul 2011 16:37:07 EST "Vacation was awesome" or "The scales they do not lie" http://www.sparkpeople.com/mypage_public_journal_individual.asp?blog_id=4389978 Hard to choose a title for my first blog entry after coming back from jolly ol' England, so you the reader may choose!

So yes vacation was awesome. I must point out that on the very last day in London we walked from Victoria to the London Zoo and spent all day there walking, then walked home again. I wore my pedometer that day and OMG it read 32294 when we made it back to the hotel room. We were totally knackered!! I took a photo of it, here it is..
<img src="http://photos-a... Wed, 27 Jul 2011 14:16:48 EST Feeling a bit chunky today http://www.sparkpeople.com/mypage_public_journal_individual.asp?blog_id=4365780 I'm still on vacation. So far it has been outstanding! Lots of daily long walks. Usually 2 hours, but on some days up to 6 hours of walking. Lincoln castle was amazing as always (we were engaged there 10 years ago next march) and the Dovedale walk was probably the highlight.
However, the english eat too much pork. I think I've had gammon and chips about 6 times too many already, as most everything else is breaded. I order turkey whenever possible or get a jacket potato with cheese. I've... Sat, 16 Jul 2011 04:00:03 EST GOAL MET!!! http://www.sparkpeople.com/mypage_public_journal_individual.asp?blog_id=4340142 Wow, it happened, I stepped on the scales this morning and weighed 141!

Hubby said to me, how can you lose 2 pounds since saturday, and I told him that I had been peeing like crazy the last 2 days, and so I thought that I'd retained a bunch of water on Friday night. This makes total sense to me because I knew the scales should have reflected all my hard efforts of the past week.

Now it's off to blighty, and I'm going to watch my meals, but I'm not going to be neurotic ab... Mon, 4 Jul 2011 09:45:27 EST Staying the course whilst on Vacation. http://www.sparkpeople.com/mypage_public_journal_individual.asp?blog_id=4335713 This is easier said than done, especially when you're going to be gone for 3 weeks and everywhere you turn people are offering you treats, beer, & fish & chips!

Well I usually gain about 3 to 5 pounds on vacation, but this time I'd like to see if I can keep from doing that. It won't be easy. I won't have my daily access to sparkpeople for one thing. That's a biggie for me, so I'll have to do the numbers in my head. I'm blond and not much good at math...

We'll be doing a ... Fri, 1 Jul 2011 16:16:20 EST Walking works, so get walking! http://www.sparkpeople.com/mypage_public_journal_individual.asp?blog_id=4327780 I decided to step up and add a 25 minute walk in the morning each day this week to my regular daily routine. I know that walking is not as aggressive as jogging, but walking burns calories, walking works.

2 pounds from my goal of 141, and I'd like to lose those 2 pounds by this Saturday. 1 pound = 3500 calories, so I need to either drop my calorie intake, or increase my calorie burn.
Caloriecount.about.com says I can't do it, it's too aggressive, they modify my goal date and ... Tue, 28 Jun 2011 09:38:42 EST Today's walk was not the usual... http://www.sparkpeople.com/mypage_public_journal_individual.asp?blog_id=4320590 I actually had errands to run today so I put on my pedometer first thing in the morning. Then I took off for Target at 10 and parked at most far end of the parking lot, took a long loop around the inside of the store and got a new oral B electric toothbrush for hubby.
Then drove to the long strip mall and parked at one end and walked to the other end and back, just to pick up some fabric paint at JoAnn's for my suitcase. I'm going to paint daisys on it so I can pick it out of the crowd o... Fri, 24 Jun 2011 17:16:22 EST The deal with Gluten http://www.sparkpeople.com/mypage_public_journal_individual.asp?blog_id=4319673 Well since Joy asked, I thought I'd give a quick blog about gluten and why so many people are finding out they are intolerant, sensitive, or the worst case -full blown celiac because of it.

Wheat gluten is a protein, think of it as the glue molecule holding the other molecules together. Over time we've engineered our US wheat to be plumper, with more gluten (glue) per grain, thus yielding in nice fluffy loaves of bread and ways to stick flavorings to stuff like Nacho Doritos.
... Fri, 24 Jun 2011 09:53:12 EST Weigh in on Saturday! http://www.sparkpeople.com/mypage_public_journal_individual.asp?blog_id=4317785 I don't usually weigh in that often. I can tell from how my clothes fit how much I weigh. I've been doing this long enough that 1, 2 or 5 pounds feels significantly different from each other.

I know it makes no sense to weigh during PMS week, and it also makes no sense to weigh myself weekly. In fact the main reason I weigh at all is to verify what I already know for a fact!

I'm looking forward to my weigh-in on Saturday. I've stayed on track, I'm proud of myself for the... I knew I'd be on my feet all day back and forth, getting various graphics produced trimmed mounted and to there proper place. I also knew there would be no time for a workout either, but I would get my workout just doing my job.

The light bulb went off in my head when I was having my salad at lunch... "WEAR YOUR PEDOMETER"
well duh!
So having missed out on the first 4 hours of steps I went ahead and clamped it on. In the las... Wed, 22 Jun 2011 15:41:50 EST My 4.07 mile walk around campus today http://www.sparkpeople.com/mypage_public_journal_individual.asp?blog_id=4313724 Here is the best part of my walk around campus, the pine needles path! It's the only shaded area I traverse, and the needles are so soft and cushiony

I got very hot as the temp read 90° today.

-mrs Tue, 21 Jun 2011 16:40:06 EST Date night tonight! http://www.sparkpeople.com/mypage_public_journal_individual.asp?blog_id=4312612 Date night tonight
Logans Roadhouse! They have the 2 lunch portion entrees for $13, you can't beat it!
I love the Sante Fe Tilapia with a plain sweet potato and the grilled veggie skewer! I always leave full, and it's a very healthy meal.

Hubby loves their endless peanuts. He needs more protein than I do. No temptation there, way too much fat in them for me. Even when I ate gluten I never liked their rolls and always passed. They have absolutely no flavor. I have no idea ... Tue, 21 Jun 2011 09:15:26 EST Saturday night at the movies :-) http://www.sparkpeople.com/mypage_public_journal_individual.asp?blog_id=4310066 Here in Austin we have this very cool theater called the Alamo Drafthouse. Google it if you're curious... They show really great flix and serve you food and ice cold beer right at your seat. We went to see an original 35 mm showing of "Taxi Driver" Hubby and I love that movie, and it was great being able to see it on the big screen having missed it when it first came out 35 years ago!

One of the coolest things about the Alamo is that they have a no talking policy, and they will ki... Mon, 20 Jun 2011 09:23:11 EST Joy of joys, it's PMS week.. http://www.sparkpeople.com/mypage_public_journal_individual.asp?blog_id=4302397 It starts with a feeling that I'm starving to death, can't sleep, cry at everything, become hard of hearing, and think my normally wonderful husband is being a jerk. Of course he's not a jerk, it's me! I'm the one who is behaving completely out of character! Not to mention the water weight retention of about 3 to 5 pounds. Don't go near the scale during PMS week, it only serves to discourage.
I had to take a full xanax & regular melatonin last night, and slept so wonderfully. Today I fee... Thu, 16 Jun 2011 10:36:18 EST Knee injury status report. http://www.sparkpeople.com/mypage_public_journal_individual.asp?blog_id=4298385 Saw my knee specialist yesterday and after xrays concluded no damage, I got some expensive anti inflamatory gel to put on my knee 4 times a day, and I'm also taking a steroid pack for a week, and some new exercises to do to strengthen the hamstring. I added them to my circuit routine today and did them last night as well.

I said I'm healthy & active and want to stay active, with which he replied "you may want to cross train with biking/swimming."

He also mentioned that ... Tue, 14 Jun 2011 14:26:08 EST But I'm too healthy to have breast cancer! http://www.sparkpeople.com/mypage_public_journal_individual.asp?blog_id=4027893 WTF?!

That's all that kept going through my mind 2 weeks ago when I got the diagnosis "invasive ductal carcinoma". I'm too healthy to have cancer! Even now 2 weeks later I feel healthy and have been jogging 5 miles a day, eating right and even ran a 10k 2 days after I got the diagnosis.

Apparently my hormones are the culprits of this cancer, and that's good news, or so all the doctors tell me. It's a slow growing cancer, a stage 1b. The mass is the size of a penny. I fel... Fri, 18 Feb 2011 12:34:35 EST August 4, up 10 pounds... http://www.sparkpeople.com/mypage_public_journal_individual.asp?blog_id=1379251 I weigh 147!
I have plenty of excuses... I'll start with the chronic pain I've had for the last 6 months caused by 2 hydrosalpinx that I recently had to have laproscopic surgery to remove, and I'll end with vacation fun, not logging in my cals, not having workouts, and a fantastic decadent anniversary weekend!

So it's time to reSPARK myself!

My goal is to lose 10 before my birthday October 12, and then another 5 before Christmas 2008!

We are planning a tr... I'm happy with my upper body, but my thighs are too big.

I've changed my exercise regime. I'm now doing strength 3 times a week and cardio 2 times a week.

Calorie intake is somewhere between 900 and 1200 calories a day. Fri, 11 Apr 2008 08:43:38 EST
