Wed, 17 Dec 2014 23:58:32 EST The 9 month Plateau, is it finally over?! http://www.sparkpeople.com/mypage_public_journal_individual.asp?blog_id=5224418 I've had a rough year of working on my weight loss and health. I got down to 212 on May 5, 2012 and then not long after that I got STUCK and somehow regained or retained more weight even with my calories on paper showing the deficit needed for steady weightloss. I thought some of it might be my ulcerative colitis starting to heal up so with a working colon processing things correctly that would weigh a little more, right? So I wasn't sure if I really abruptly regained 5-8 pounds or not. <B... Sat, 26 Jan 2013 13:29:00 EST Wipeout, recovery, wipeout again. http://www.sparkpeople.com/mypage_public_journal_individual.asp?blog_id=4852636 After my park adventures followed by car trip and visiting friends, I was wiped out Saturday night. But it didn't really REALLY kick in till Sunday and then it waited to get really bad AFTER breakfast, while I was delusional it was getting better. Got hit HARD with the sunburn, the actually normal aches and pains of using muscles not used to it, AND the fibro flare up, fatigue, and a few stabby colon AND reproductive pangs thrown in just to not get left out of the excitement. It was a eat ... Thu, 26 Apr 2012 00:50:09 EST Hooping and Hiking and Florescing, oh my! Hubby said we could go shopping to buy me my own baseball glove to play catch with now that I tried it at a friend's house and loved it and can actually DO it. So we went glove shopping and I had been talking with him earlier about wanting to try a weighted hula hoop to see if I could do that at all, and lo and behold, the store had a PADDED PINK one! And he bought me the glove AND the... Mon, 23 Apr 2012 00:01:56 EST My Emotional Eating http://www.sparkpeople.com/mypage_public_journal_individual.asp?blog_id=4765903 I took a quiz and ended up pouring myself out explaining my quiz answer so here it is. I've been thinking about this a lot lately too, trying to find help here for my own weird kind of emotional eating.

I picked Emotional eating multiple times a day, but I'm learning that my emotional eating isn't the same as described in most of the articles here. I have trouble with every meal. First there is the struggle with deprivation and fear of getting fat sending me conflicting impulses... Thu, 1 Mar 2012 18:58:37 EST Sick with a cold but getting things done! http://www.sparkpeople.com/mypage_public_journal_individual.asp?blog_id=4752460 The cold that I'd been fighting off and felt looming in the back of my throat for over a week finally hit after the big walk in the park. Juan got sick first and sure enough I couldn't keep fighting mine off with his active at the same time. One of the things I hate about getting sick with a cold or flu is that it can hit a friend or my brother or now my hubby hard and fast but after 3 to 6 days of concentrated wipeout it's all done and over with and they're back up and running by the next ... Thu, 23 Feb 2012 01:06:31 EST Made it to the park! http://www.sparkpeople.com/mypage_public_journal_individual.asp?blog_id=4741034 I'm happy I managed to make it out of the house and go for an exercise fast paced walk in the park along the birdwatching trails today! I wasn't sure I was going to make it out of the house at all but around 4pm has been when I've been trying to exercise and/or figure out my energy levels and plans for dinner. Hubby was grumpy it took me so long to be ready to do anything today but once we got out and got going it was wonderful! I found my little lightweight snapshot camera in my purse and... I'm at that point where I've eaten breakfast and lunch, and entered my anticipated Valentines dinner including wine, chocolate cake hubby made, pasta with a "cream" sauce I make with half and half and a bit of corn starch to thicken, shrimp, asparagus, and strawberries to go on/with the cake and wine. The thing is... hubby making the cake was a surprise and I HAD planned on making heart shaped red velvet rice crispies using our silicone heart cupcake cups. BUT that would be TWO bi... Tue, 14 Feb 2012 19:35:39 EST A Few Realizations http://www.sparkpeople.com/mypage_public_journal_individual.asp?blog_id=4656293 Just had a breakthrough in understanding what's going on with me and my relationship with STUFF, my hoarding tendencies etc. Going through the closet and sorting and getting stuff OUT of the storage in boxes limbo helped me see that what I keep on purpose is for 3 main reasons. 1. Supplies for Doing. This is where my illnesses and not getting around to it kicks in the most. I want to DO things, I'm creative and really enjoy it when I'm expressing and exploring that part of me. But I have... Wed, 4 Jan 2012 08:43:08 EST My One Word for the year: Reclaim! http://www.sparkpeople.com/mypage_public_journal_individual.asp?blog_id=4654667 Towards the end of 2011 one of my friends posted on Facebook that she was going to be doing a Scrapbooking class/project that had them pick one word to focus on for the year. I thought this sounded really good so, even though I can't afford to join the class and do the scrapbooking, I picked out my One Word for the year too. I thought about picking something like Health, since I've been working on that a lot this past year and want to continue. I thought about years ago when I decided my p... Tue, 3 Jan 2012 16:25:35 EST For 3 days I left the house! BREAKTHROUGH! http://www.sparkpeople.com/mypage_public_journal_individual.asp?blog_id=4601877 This Thursday for Thanksgiving we went to our friends' home and had our big family dinner with their entire family with both sets of grandparents, another couple, and 2 Airmen in training from the Air Force Base! Then Friday I went out to the latest Twilight movie with my friend Cissy and it felt so odd leaving the house without Juan and locking the door with MY key. Then yesterday we went over to visit and play Jeff's new board game and hang out with Jeff and Cissy and on the way over I re... Sun, 27 Nov 2011 22:22:33 EST Diagnosed with Crohn's Disease on Wednesday http://www.sparkpeople.com/mypage_public_journal_individual.asp?blog_id=4569231 Well my Colonoscopy and Endoscopy went well I guess since they did find at least some of what's going wrong inside my digestive system. Lots of colon inflammation and something irregular going on with my upper stomach entry and lower stomach areas. Still not sure if my body will keep stalling out here getting used to this new weight range before I can get back to one pound every week or 2 like my weight loss before I hit this plateau.

Hoping whatever the doctor finds in the colonoscopy Wednesday lets him start work on making me more functional and lead to less pain in my life.

Hubby helped me make a super veggie beef spaghetti sauce AND get the o... Mon, 31 Oct 2011 15:38:02 EST Made it to the doctor this time! http://www.sparkpeople.com/mypage_public_journal_individual.asp?blog_id=4556717 Today was really rough but I made it to my appointment with the new doctor today, he's a Gastroenterologist but I keep referring to him as the gastrointestinal doctor or tummy-guts doctor. Juan came home from work early to help me get up and ready, he even made coffee to help me make it to semi-coherent functioning. Had stabby abdominal/vaginal/intestinal/rectal pains but they weren't so bad while they weren't actively stabbing. I had the itching healing feeling I usually associate with an... Thu, 27 Oct 2011 23:40:39 EST Headed to a new Dr tomorrow http://www.sparkpeople.com/mypage_public_journal_individual.asp?blog_id=4533106 Hoping I can get good sleep tonight to make it to the new Dr. tomorrow. Right now both hands and my left foot especially ache and burn and feel hot, like the times my arms feel dipped in jalapeno juice but not as bad except in the foot.

Still having a really rough time with focus and exhaustion. Thu, 13 Oct 2011 01:00:46 EST Lots of exhaustion lately. http://www.sparkpeople.com/mypage_public_journal_individual.asp?blog_id=4518150 I seem to be having a huge slump where I'm just drained all day till evening. I think it started Thursday or Friday when I woke startled while dreaming I was about to read a handwritten note, and WHUMP the whatever-it-is in the bathroom ceiling started making it's horrible noise again after over a month of NOT making noises.

I've tried napping when I'm just too tired to keep dragging on but I'm still pretty tired when I wake up. I've tried caffeine but ended up needing a nap anyw... Tue, 4 Oct 2011 00:15:32 EST To fill in backlog of Nutrition Tracking, or just go on? http://www.sparkpeople.com/mypage_public_journal_individual.asp?blog_id=4513038 We went out of town last weekend starting Thursday evening and didn't get back till Monday and I didn't track anything I ate or take notes or anything. I kept tabs on my calories guesstimate though, and TRIED to get in my fruit and veggie servings but it was really hard! For example, at home I usually load up on the diced onions, cilantro, and salsa when we have barbacoa or tacos for breakfast and get 1 or 2 actual servings of veggies there. At his parents house there was maybe 1/4 cup dic... Sat, 1 Oct 2011 00:44:55 EST Nice surprise this morning http://www.sparkpeople.com/mypage_public_journal_individual.asp?blog_id=4479792 After learning about Set Points and Plateaus and realizing I HAVE lost 10% of my body weight this year already I was ready to just switch to maintenance for a few months while my body adjusted to it's new 10% lighter body weight and got used to being happy and un-threatened in this weight range before losing more weight. And then I stepped on the scale this morning and saw a new number, 218! So I guess maybe my body isn't needing to hang on at this weight range for a few more months after a... Sun, 11 Sep 2011 23:53:51 EST Fertility Doctor was HUGE crushing disappointment and hurt. http://www.sparkpeople.com/mypage_public_journal_individual.asp?blog_id=4477452 We went to the specialist at the fertility clinic that my Gynecologist sent us to yesterday. She had told us that my remaining fragment of an ovary had scar tissue and that needed to be removed by laser surgery to give us a chance at having a baby, and also thought that with all the fibroids in my uterus they might need to remove the one big one the size of a ping pong ball because she said it might interfere in the egg being able to implant in my uterus. I'm still on the 3 months on then 1... Sat, 10 Sep 2011 16:00:17 EST Got lots done today, and exercised TWICE! ^-^ http://www.sparkpeople.com/mypage_public_journal_individual.asp?blog_id=4463576 Last night I had another bout of insomnia, partly my days/nights flipped still so I ended up treating it kind of like another extra day. I got some cleaning done, scooped out the kitty litter box, cleaned the bathroom and swept and got the bathroom rug nice again. Then I was HUNGRY around 1am and realized it had been about 5 or 6 hours since dinnertime, so I had "breakfast" and read and watched TV and did things online for a while. About 5 or 6 am I realized hey, I have some ENERGY, I'm no... Sat, 3 Sep 2011 01:14:52 EST Plateau Blues, Feeling Stuck! http://www.sparkpeople.com/mypage_public_journal_individual.asp?blog_id=4448097 I've been stuck at/around my 220 pounds weight for what emotionally seems like forever now but it's been over a month. I'd been hoping to keep making my one pound a week weight loss but I'm feeling like it's just not going to budge and maybe this is the best I can do? I'm still doing all the same things that were working, sticking in my calorie range, paying attention to balance carbs/protein/fat ratio close to the recommended range here, being a lot more active with all my extra walking w... Thu, 25 Aug 2011 15:18:25 EST Doctor turned out well! http://www.sparkpeople.com/mypage_public_journal_individual.asp?blog_id=4429389 The doctor visit was less traumatic than I'd feared, and he actually listened to everything I was trying to tell him about my symptoms and figured out 1. I didn't have a cold or sinus infection but I DID have terribly aggravated sinuses with inflammation blockage and he gave me medicine for that and sure enough a few days later my throat and ears are MUCH better and sinuses are letting me breath and seem on the way back to fully normal finally. The "whatever it was" mystery of my foot skin p... Mon, 15 Aug 2011 22:56:05 EST Sick but exercising! http://www.sparkpeople.com/mypage_public_journal_individual.asp?blog_id=4420676 Well I came down with hubby's cold that he's just gotten over, and it's at the scratchy sore throat and sneezing and sinus horrible-ness can't breathe through more than one nostril at a time HUGE pressure stage. I'm especially frustrated to be sick with a cold again when I never quite got over my 2 month cold I had in April and May, that fluid cough deep in my chest never went away completely. But I woke up all sweaty and hubby says it helps him to sweat out a cold, so I thought hey, it's w... Thu, 11 Aug 2011 11:32:44 EST Went over first time on calories! http://www.sparkpeople.com/mypage_public_journal_individual.asp?blog_id=4413203 Wow today was unusual, we had eggs and toast for breakfast and then I had a cup of strawberries to get started on my fruits and veggies for the day. After being too dazed to leave the house all day we finally decided to go out for dinner partly because we've stayed home all day Friday and Saturday while hubby's been off work, so the stir crazies were kicking in. Halfway down the road we changed plans from trying the English Pub we'd heard about to going to Golden Corral for the first time i... Sun, 7 Aug 2011 22:21:45 EST Cake Live-it! http://www.sparkpeople.com/mypage_public_journal_individual.asp?blog_id=4381373 I've decided to be goofy and say I'm not on a diet, I'm on a LIVE IT! :-P It shouldn't get to me but sometimes it really bothers me when I see friends self-righteously depriving themselves and giving me unsolicited advice and labeling foods as BAD thus making ME "bad" when I eat those foods around them. And I find myself holding back not saying things about what I consider THEIR crazy-making eating rules but I find myself thinking about other people's food. I eat over at a friend's house ... Sat, 23 Jul 2011 16:29:27 EST Bracing for Pain Day http://www.sparkpeople.com/mypage_public_journal_individual.asp?blog_id=4373950 I just know tomorrow will be the Horrible Terrible No Good Very Bad Pain Day that the birth control pills kept from happening for 3 months now. I was half hoping it wouldn't happen at all, or it wouldn't be so bad, but today my abdominal pain and swelling and tenderness is all starting up and headed that way. I napped as much as I could earlier today because even though I could have gotten up I know that once the pain hits I won't be able to sleep so I figured I might as well face that as w... Wed, 20 Jul 2011 00:54:05 EST STILL recovering day http://www.sparkpeople.com/mypage_public_journal_individual.asp?blog_id=4371505 I thought yesterday was my recovery day but today I've been slower and more dazed and achey and hobbling around the house. Got up at 8am thinking I was up for the day but I was passing out reading my NEW BOOK that I've waited YEARS for so I went back to bed and napped from about 11am till 1pm. Had a lot of trouble getting comfy reading on the couch. Having more abdominal and chest pains and twinges, aching feet and ankles, and tender arms and hands. The place in my left hand that felt bru... Mon, 18 Jul 2011 23:38:55 EST Scooching Adventures and Recovery Day! http://www.sparkpeople.com/mypage_public_journal_individual.asp?blog_id=4369119 Yesterday was my BIG day! First I made out the menu plans for the week and decided I wanted to make Sinigang for the first time ever because of one of my facebook friends talking about how much he loves it! I also planned for a version of samosas using flakey biscuit dough instead of deep frying them, and my own version of the ruben on rye like the HEB deli does with cooked apple bits mixed in with the saurkraut. I tried to make it a short shopping expedition and not wander around a lot bu... Mon, 18 Jul 2011 00:16:47 EST Ribs and Ribs Redeux http://www.sparkpeople.com/mypage_public_journal_individual.asp?blog_id=4365611 Well after deciding it's time to eat through our stocked up freezer and clear out the fridge, hubby realized it was the last day for boneless beef ribs on super sale and know it's one of our favorites he got some so we marinated them overnight and then yesterday I didn't think I was up to cooking but once I got the beef on the pans and in the oven I kept going and chopped the carrots and onions and sauteed them too! So when hubby got home from work expecting to have to cook dinner it was alr... Fri, 15 Jul 2011 23:45:31 EST Walking, Cleaning, Watching TV! http://www.sparkpeople.com/mypage_public_journal_individual.asp?blog_id=4361386 Today I mostly read and watched TV, got caught up on my recorded shows and did extra laps up and down the hall and across the dining/living room. But then I set it to the HGTV channel and watching those shows with all the pretty homes makes me want to make MY home nicer like the ones I'm seeing! So I ended up straightening out the living/dining room, and then cleaned and cleared off a lot of cluttered kitchen counter space so it looks MUCH better now. I may not have granite counter tops, b... Wed, 13 Jul 2011 23:24:26 EST Sicky Icky last night, better today http://www.sparkpeople.com/mypage_public_journal_individual.asp?blog_id=4359207 Yesterday I was stressed with having to be up and functional and dressed all day because the maintenance contracted outside work to come in and clear ALL the dryer and bathroom vents in the entire complex, starting at 8am on building 1, and we're in building 3. I re-read the letter from the office and realized if it took them the 30 minutes maximum they estimated then they might not get to our apartment till about 4pm, or even not make it till the next day at 8am arrgh! So I took a nap with... Wed, 13 Jul 2011 00:00:10 EST Had a Day Out yesterday, Day IN today! http://www.sparkpeople.com/mypage_public_journal_individual.asp?blog_id=4354383 We got up late so had a late start for the day and I wasn't sure I'd make it but we were invited over to visit with friends and play Battletech and Mechwarrior and I'd only played ONE time when I was 19, hubby played a few times but it was about 20 years ago for him too so we were the newbies. I got my hair washed and we had pancakes and fresh strawberries and blueberries for breakfast around 2:30PM right before our friend picked us up so my hair was damp but it mostly dried on the car ride ... Mon, 11 Jul 2011 01:06:22 EST Sleepy Nap Day Strikes Again http://www.sparkpeople.com/mypage_public_journal_individual.asp?blog_id=4350444 Tired all day, took a nap after breakfast and had WILD dreams, one I was back in the town we moved here from, with an old college friend, at her bizzare house that was supposed to be her real life home with a huge dining set and having a big emotional fight! Then suddenly I was somewhere else and trying to get on this train/trolley/tram thing that took off with me clinging to the back/side of it with my hands pried into this rubber bumper lining, hanging on for dear life, screaming for them ... Fri, 8 Jul 2011 22:53:12 EST Discouraging Plateau, Encouraging Pedometer. http://www.sparkpeople.com/mypage_public_journal_individual.asp?blog_id=4348159 I'm frustrated with my current plateau that I seem to have hit this week. I've been tracking my calories and exercise and the difference between calories burned and consumed and according to the numbers I've made a difference of over 4,000 calories this week but according to the scale I may have regained a pound or so. How does that happen? This is part of why I have trouble trusting that weight loss will work predictably and reliably for me. Right now my best guess at "how do you gain we... Thu, 7 Jul 2011 21:35:28 EST New Shoes and a Pedometer, yay! http://www.sparkpeople.com/mypage_public_journal_individual.asp?blog_id=4346195 I knew my old shoes were old, I had them when we moved here seven years ago at the start of 2005, but I had to sit down and think to realize I'd had them for about 3 years before we moved! So when we went to Academy to get my pedometer we also looked at shoes for me and a wonderful thing happened that had never happened to me before. I found a pair of black running shoes I actually liked the looks of, and it came in my size range, so I tried on the larger of the 2 sizes on my left foot, and... Thu, 7 Jul 2011 00:56:35 EST Walking on broken glass... really! O-o http://www.sparkpeople.com/mypage_public_journal_individual.asp?blog_id=4341590 Had one of those moments last night where I realize my chronic pains are more than painful and bothersome and getting in the way of living life, sometimes they keep me from realizing when the pain is something ELSE that need attention! I was in our bedroom and bathroom after having been up and down the hall mostly in our computer room some time after getting my last glass of water from the kitchen. My right foot had been bothering me with cramps and threatening to cramp and stabby pains off... Tue, 5 Jul 2011 00:29:27 EST Bad tummy/guts! http://www.sparkpeople.com/mypage_public_journal_individual.asp?blog_id=4339547 Not sure what triggered it but my abdominal pain flared up big time after dinner tonight, hubby ran to the store for me to pick up emergency kefir with active cultures and HEB version of probiotic yogurt. I've been wanting to start again on the probiotics I'd tried from the health food store before, the improvements they made stay with me after each set of pills is done but it's also a bit rough on my system as they do their work so I'd been taking them on again off again every few months la... Sun, 3 Jul 2011 22:12:29 EST Having a day... just not as planned. http://www.sparkpeople.com/mypage_public_journal_individual.asp?blog_id=4337699 Well last night we were hoping I'd be able to wash my hair before bed and sleep all night and wake up all rested and rarin to go! The plan was we'd get to go watch Green Lantern with friends who wanted to treat us to a movie for Juan's birthday to celebrate, and then hang out at their place with more friends afterward. Potentially a day full of friends and fandom movie and maybe even grilling!

BUT!

I couldn't get the oomph to wash my hair so plan B was to get to bed ea... Sat, 2 Jul 2011 19:04:49 EST Exercised just before the pain hit! http://www.sparkpeople.com/mypage_public_journal_individual.asp?blog_id=4333639 I was happy I managed to get between 6 and 8 hours of sleep, but it was from 6am till noon and then I stayed in bed till almost 2 trying to sleep the rest of the 8 hours. I had my leftover moussaka for lunch and then about 5 I did my stretching warmup and 10 minutes of cardio and worked up my light sweaty glow and was feeling pretty good. Did my cool down and stretches again at the end and had more range of motion than at the warm up. Got myself all showered and changed and then BAM sharp ... Thu, 30 Jun 2011 18:55:29 EST Big Surprise! http://www.sparkpeople.com/mypage_public_journal_individual.asp?blog_id=4330907 Well after this big weekend of visiting and eating and eating and eating some more and a party and not being able to exercise because of my bug bites blazing up when my circulation increases, AND the huge lunch at burger king yesterday, I was braced for going up a pound or 2, or holding steady, but wow, I actually LOST a pound this week through all that was going on! This really helped me see that the occasional splurge won't destroy me utterly and also helped me be OK with a few setbacks an... Wed, 29 Jun 2011 14:57:55 EST Back from the weekend! http://www.sparkpeople.com/mypage_public_journal_individual.asp?blog_id=4324890 Just made it home and settling in, got caught up adding all my eating to the nutrition tracker and for once I'm definitely good on protein and fats, it's carbs I'm low on today! Had a V-8 on the trip home and now we're seeing what we've got for fruit and veggie snacks before bedtime. I topped out my recommended calorie range for the day yesterday but when I weighed myself this morning it was down half a pound from the morning before so I'm hoping I continue in my slow progress.

I... Mon, 27 Jun 2011 01:28:42 EST Road trip and big weekend! http://www.sparkpeople.com/mypage_public_journal_individual.asp?blog_id=4320828 After struggling to get my days and nights back to sleeping nights and being unsure whether my Pain Day had hit for the month yet or not, I'm doing pretty well, pain only around a 4-5 and a few random twinges of 8 now and then but not often, so I call that Good to Go! ^-^ Had a horrible hand cramp shaving my legs though, that wasn't at all what I thought might act up and hurt me, it wasn't even the holding the razor handle for so long part, it was just while smoothing the shaving cream down ... Fri, 24 Jun 2011 20:21:30 EST Hunger day attacks! http://www.sparkpeople.com/mypage_public_journal_individual.asp?blog_id=4318251 I'm having one of those days where I just keep getting hungry every couple of hours ALL DAY LONG and I'm not sure what's causing it. So far I've tried to have meals and snacks that include fruit/veggies and protein and NOT fall back into grabbing comfort carbs like the potatoes in the fridge or a double serving of tortilla chips etc. but I did have a sandwich for breakfast balanced out with 2 servings of tomato soup. I'm at that growly achey tummy stage where if I ignore it for too long I g... Thu, 23 Jun 2011 15:53:42 EST Sleep day http://www.sparkpeople.com/mypage_public_journal_individual.asp?blog_id=4316890 Well today I wasn't feeling well all day, woke with a headache and queasiness and had some saltines and dried fruit and nuts and still didn't feel safe to take pain pills because it seemed they might be on the way out again before they could take effect, ugh. Went back to bed and woke up in the afternoon but still felt awful, Juan got off work early around 5 so he came home and saved me by making grilled cheese sandwiches and tomato soup for dinner. I ate and took pain pills and crashed bac... Thu, 23 Jun 2011 00:42:17 EST Nutrition MIA! http://www.sparkpeople.com/mypage_public_journal_individual.asp?blog_id=4314673 I realized I was actually really REALLY hungry around 1am so after drinking 2 big glasses of water and giving it about half an hour I went for my lots of salsa simple nachos, just chips with 1/8 cup shredded cheese sprinkled and zapped in the microwave, and then while still warm and bubbly I dump an entire cup of Juan's salsa over it. ^-^ I have to tip the plate and sip all the extra juice before eating them or they'll end up super soggy at the end.
I went to enter my latest 2 glasses o... Wed, 22 Jun 2011 03:00:14 EST Yay I kept going making dinner! http://www.sparkpeople.com/mypage_public_journal_individual.asp?blog_id=4311556 Today I was feeling wiped out and daunted at the thought of dealing with all the peeling and chopping and hauling the big pot of water from sink to stove, and draining the boiling water later, but I figured I'd try to get started at least and if I had to call it off at least I'd have some veggies pre-cut for tomorrow and cooked egg noodles for a jump start on dinner. My backup plan was more talapia tacos or chicken sandwiches or leftover Moussaka, I love having multiple backup dinners to fal... Mon, 20 Jun 2011 19:51:39 EST Hard Habits post http://www.sparkpeople.com/mypage_public_journal_individual.asp?blog_id=4308976 I just posted this in the message boards and realized I wanted to save/share it here too.

Hard habit number one:
Not eating for too long and then hitting that brain dead too hungry can't think Zombie Need Food phase where I will stand dazed staring into the fridge or pantry going "buuuuh" and end up eating bizzare assortments of food like all the remaining pickles, 3 saltines, leftover something-starchy with cheese and maybe pico or salsa on top if I can manage to remember I'm... Sun, 19 Jun 2011 19:12:21 EST Franks Red Hot Veggies? http://www.sparkpeople.com/mypage_public_journal_individual.asp?blog_id=4308865 The other day I woke up way earlier than Juan so I was up and awake and HUNGRY long before it was reasonable to wake him up for breakfast, so I had a snack to tide me over so I wouldn't be all desperate and grumpy by the time he woke up. I remembered I still had 3 little chicken hot wings from when Juan got us Papa John's Pizza for dinner so I had those and all the cut up carrots, about 1 cup total carrot sticks and slices combined from when we had them cut for salads. I discovered franks r... Sun, 19 Jun 2011 17:52:56 EST Long recovery day http://www.sparkpeople.com/mypage_public_journal_individual.asp?blog_id=4306062 I stayed in bed for 14 hours and think I got sleep but I was still tired when I forced myself out of bed in the afternoon and had breakfast right away because my first thought was "oh no I'm running out of time to eat all my calories for the day!" It was one of THOSE days. I intended to go put my contacts in but when I got to the bathroom I ended up scrubbing the toilet instead, and by the time I remembered my contacts I didn't feel up to dealing with them. Next time I was in the bathroom ... Sat, 18 Jun 2011 00:47:18 EST MRI done http://www.sparkpeople.com/mypage_public_journal_individual.asp?blog_id=4304055 Sleeping to be ready for the MRI, then getting myself ready, going through it all, and trying to recover all REALLY wiped me out today! Juan was wonderful and stayed with me through it all at the radiology lab. The nurse guy who put the needle in my arm was wonderful too, he was joking trying to make me feel better while he took my blood pressure, which surprised me by being 120/74 even though I was all worked up and anxious. I had to ask for bigger pants when they gave me woven plastic pa... Fri, 17 Jun 2011 00:54:42 EST
