So I decided to check in and type. My salad was wilted and not very appetizing looking. I thought ahead and bought a Kentucky Friend GRILLED chicken. I have also just stopped and prayed because I realized this was CRAVING not huger. Stopping to pray has helped me stand strong so I am doing so now. I had a whole chicken breast and a stuffed 1/2 of egg. Now carrots for crunchy something.

I did walk this mor... Tue, 22 Aug 2017 14:21:54 EST Walk before the eclipse :) http://www.sparkpeople.com/mypage_public_journal_individual.asp?blog_id=6402514 I walked three miles this morning before the real heat of the day hit. I had time at 9 am so took advantage of the 87 degree temp instead of waiting for the 95+ heat of the day by noon... I was still hot and tired from the heat, but got it done! This allowed me to eat and rest at lunch before the eclipse hit here. I took my shoe box viewer outside and saw the first stage of the eclipse through it, only to run into a visiting coworker with 20+ pairs of glasses he passed out for all of the s... Sun, 20 Aug 2017 10:18:35 EST 40th Wedding Anniversary today! http://www.sparkpeople.com/mypage_public_journal_individual.asp?blog_id=6401693 We are going to a nice restaurant called Seasons 52 for dinner tonight. My husband selected it because he knew it would be something I would like. He asked our weight trainer who eats like I do where he should take me :). Sweet hubby. I have checked out the menu and am very happy with the fresh organic food that will be keto friendly.

So at 3 pm today I have been busy all day and have 18,000 steps already. I helped cut grass, trimmed bushes, washed dogs, made 18 stuffed eggs,... Sat, 19 Aug 2017 16:06:29 EST Feeling GOOD! http://www.sparkpeople.com/mypage_public_journal_individual.asp?blog_id=6401315 Thank you Jesus! Yes! I seem to have pushed through the carb withdraw and already have a little more energy and less fatigue. I got 6 1/2 miles yesterday WOO HOO and did 4 this morning already. I am on food track and in small ketosis. I don't expect this to get higher as I do eat carbs but low carb. I am eating 1,000 or so calories with 85 fat as I am trying to take these few lbs off. Then I will raise my calories and fats back up.

I'm off to get my hair done so planning a gr... Fri, 18 Aug 2017 11:52:43 EST Scale was kind :) http://www.sparkpeople.com/mypage_public_journal_individual.asp?blog_id=6400241 So I stuck with it yesterday through the carb headache anti the I don't want to it would be easier to eat out, thoughts in my head. Today the scale was down 2 lbs. Today I am on track but it's 2:23 and after a sweltering walk for 1 1/2 miles at lunch I have down time...Time to think about wanting to eat...time to realize I have that Carb withdraw headache again...So I am typing instead. I decided to check in, write this, comment on another blog, record today's foods, and take some Tylenol.... Tue, 15 Aug 2017 15:34:48 EST New beginning :) http://www.sparkpeople.com/mypage_public_journal_individual.asp?blog_id=6399656 Today is a new day and I am beginning again. Cleaning up my eating again and recommitting to the way I have eaten since 2013. This past month and 1/2 not so much. I am sick that I have undone so many healthy habits in such a short time. I kept my miles up but gained weight during my vacation and my vacation from good clean eating and low carb. Simple carbs are not my friend or I should say a false friend. Superficial love that will kill me! Ugh. Prayers for the next few days as I with... Mon, 14 Aug 2017 07:37:37 EST July is gone... along with a month of no willpower! This changes NOW! http://www.sparkpeople.com/mypage_public_journal_individual.asp?blog_id=6399460 Since June 28th we have been on the go. Vacation, my sisters visit, then I was sick and on steroids (man was I hyper) and finally a relaxing time at the beach. The scales outcome was not pleasant to confront nor is the rapidness that bad habits return after YEARS of change. But here I am, starting again cleaning up my eating and getting on track 15 lbs over my lowest weight of 122. I am at 137 and while my clothes still fit they wont much longer and are no longer lose. I am not buying bi... Sun, 13 Aug 2017 17:38:03 EST Steroids and sleep http://www.sparkpeople.com/mypage_public_journal_individual.asp?blog_id=6394577 I am just not sleeping since I started these steroids that are thankfully titrating down. Just two more days. Zyrtec D and Antibiotics continue a few more days. My face looks like I am sunburned from the steroids and I imagine the concentration of all those antibiotics where they are needed across my cheeks and nose which is where it all is. The good news I am not having any fatigue, I have lots of jittery energy, I am getting my steps and walks in. I am cleaning house at 4 am, doing my... Tue, 1 Aug 2017 08:40:05 EST Cruise, House guest (My younger sister) and sick http://www.sparkpeople.com/mypage_public_journal_individual.asp?blog_id=6394139 That's my July. It was so jam packed full of fun that I just didn't slow down until the sinus infection shut me down last week. Now 3 days full of steroids, antibiotics and Zyrtec D its getting better but not gone. The yucky effects of feeling anxious/shaky/and tasting nothing but antibiotic is the current status. Sleep has been tough and I am feeling it today. I work until Thursday of this week and get to then go to the beach. This should be rest for me. The hubby has a workshop and I... Mon, 31 Jul 2017 08:22:47 EST Saying Goodbye http://www.sparkpeople.com/mypage_public_journal_individual.asp?blog_id=6392621 I returned from a wonderful 10 day vacation to welcome my sister for 2 weeks. It was wonderful fun. She had to leave yesterday evening and I miss her already. We don't get to visit often enough. Her life is in PA and mine here in AL but when we do it's like we were just together yesterday. It's always hardest right after a visit because we would like to live life together every day. I am so thankful and great-full for our time together! Just a few pictures of the fun we had :)
<i... It is what it is. I thought I plugged it up to charge but what ever I did drained it instead. I think it was backward and a button depressed draining it instead...ugh. It's on the charge but I will leave within the hour. We shall see.

I have had a busy prep day. Tonight is Hailey's twilight run and I hope not in the rain but, well it is what it is, and I have a hat and windbreaker to protect me... Sat, 24 Jun 2017 19:17:26 EST Contract and prayers please http://www.sparkpeople.com/mypage_public_journal_individual.asp?blog_id=6378654 The board is going to re look at the contract but I have no idea how it may change or if it will be acceptable. A little scary for reasons I discussed with DH (so thankful to have a supportive husband) but can't put in black in white on media. Soooo I started the day praying. I put it in God's hands. I trust God to lead me and all will be as it should.

The prep for vacation continues with packing, checking off the lists, getting hair cut, and a much needed massage after some... Tue, 20 Jun 2017 08:04:20 EST The Packing has begun! http://www.sparkpeople.com/mypage_public_journal_individual.asp?blog_id=6376939 I have placed a portable hanging rack in the bed room to process what we really need all week. We are really trying to pack light. So far it looks good. We will add and take away as we think all week about overland and cruise bags. We are trying to minimize the bags we will carry.

Meanwhile on the food front I have been up and down again. Sabotaging my positive efforts again and staying within that same few lbs. Weekends seem to be the challenge and allowing temptations as ... Mon, 19 Jun 2017 07:52:11 EST Didn't run but had a GREAT day http://www.sparkpeople.com/mypage_public_journal_individual.asp?blog_id=6376430 I stayed home from the 10 K today. It was 1 1/2 hours away and this is the first weekend I have not been drained by the time the weekend got here. I decided I would not run.

So today was a very nice day. My hubby and I had a pistol cleaning class, then I had a nice lunch of left over fish and vegi's, washed three dogs/one cat, cleaned the kitty litter and started the packing of things prepping for travels. I cleaned out the cosmetic bag, refilled shampoo's and travel meds. I... Sat, 17 Jun 2017 21:40:48 EST ALASKA is calling http://www.sparkpeople.com/mypage_public_journal_individual.asp?blog_id=6374767 This is our 40th anniversary cruise that is coming soon!!! I am getting excited!

The goal is to get some lbs down before the trip and so far so good. The ah ha moment was on the scale on Friday I was up again to 133.4. I really began strictly on Monday with a liquid reset diet for bariatric WLS patients. Today I was down to 129.3 which I know is all fluid as reality is you don't loose fat that fast but hey 4 lbs of fluid are gone and I am under 130. Tomorrow I begin soft food... Tue, 13 Jun 2017 19:03:38 EST Finally feeling recovered http://www.sparkpeople.com/mypage_public_journal_individual.asp?blog_id=6374238 I have just been fatigued since my husbands surgery. Its taken weeks it seems to get back to feeling myself and not dragging. I am only now really recovered enough that I am not out of steam by Thursday's each work week. I am still taking care and getting my sleep. I am not running a 10K this week as its 1 1/2 hours away and that's 3 hours on the road with 6 miles in the middle. I just don't have to so decided not to. I will walk or run my 3 miles around home this weekend. I am getting... Mon, 12 Jun 2017 14:50:11 EST 2 hour nap and 10 hours of sleep! http://www.sparkpeople.com/mypage_public_journal_individual.asp?blog_id=6367853 First of all I took a two hour nap Saturday afternoon. I deserved it! I had cut the grass in the dog yard (a must to keep flea's and ticks down) and washed three dogs. The DH usually does this but is still recovering (well by the way) from rotator cuff surgery and can't right now. I ended up with 3 miles cutting that yard with a push mower on a hillside! After the nap we went to my nephew's 40th luau birthday party. The party was really fun. I tried green banana's in coconut milk. Once... Sun, 28 May 2017 21:30:12 EST 2.5 hours till rest time! http://www.sparkpeople.com/mypage_public_journal_individual.asp?blog_id=6366815 I am coming down to the light at the end of this work tunnel and then a three (and 3/4 days counting the rest of today) off! I am ready for this! Fri, 26 May 2017 09:09:08 EST Still pushing through http://www.sparkpeople.com/mypage_public_journal_individual.asp?blog_id=6366398 Since I have checked in I had that 5 mile run Saturday and came in 4th in my age group. It was a tough run but I was glad I did it. Then Chehea Challenge rest stop. It all went great! Those riders are major competitors and just strong to ride 124 miles up the Chehea mountain twice through our rest stop! I have had to work long days every day this week and I am just looking for Friday at 10 am when I am through for the week. I have a 9-10 meeting then LET THE PAMPERING BEGIN. I get hai... Thu, 25 May 2017 09:25:36 EST Well I had a BLIP http://www.sparkpeople.com/mypage_public_journal_individual.asp?blog_id=6363874 Yesterday was a blip in the food plan and today I feel ok about it. Why is it when you feel good coming off a stress that's when you eat bad... I had lost that lb and got back to 129 lbs consistently for three days. That was a little of yesterday... I got my space back and felt great about it but was also fatigued and bought a small muffalotta for lunch instead of eating what a brought. I ate half for lunch and a quarter for dinner. I have one quarter left. Now I did eat too much eating... Fri, 19 May 2017 08:30:41 EST MIA http://www.sparkpeople.com/mypage_public_journal_individual.asp?blog_id=6363518 I have been missing checking in. We changed the whole room around to put the big man recliner in my morning meditation, prayer and work space. Thus I relocated and am not getting me time.... So yesterday since my DH cannot even use the chair because it is a right sided recliner he can't get in and out of, I moved his chair out. I moved my stuff back and hey I feel so much better! I feel great! I am so happy to get my space back. I was mighty and moved that big man recliner hefting it ... Thu, 11 May 2017 12:11:57 EST A little tired http://www.sparkpeople.com/mypage_public_journal_individual.asp?blog_id=6360243 I am counting on some extra rest this weekend. No race planned and other than teaching the Kindergarten at church Sunday. That's IT! But I am hanging on until FRIDAY at around 3 pm when I will be done this week. The DH is doing better but still needs me to handle all the house stuff and help him out.

OK I am good! gotta go back to work!

Keep Sparking! Wed, 10 May 2017 15:54:17 EST Loosing days http://www.sparkpeople.com/mypage_public_journal_individual.asp?blog_id=6359890 So my life has been very busy resulting in forgetting to check in to spark daily. I am doing well and DH is healing. I have just been busy. Food choices are going better and I am not snacking on sugar. Thanks for the idea about star anise in tea I will have to try it. I am getting shorts walks in no long run's or walk but I am satisfied considering I am caring for recovering DH working full time. Life is good, and all will be fine, and I am blessed. Tue, 9 May 2017 20:34:11 EST Better day today http://www.sparkpeople.com/mypage_public_journal_individual.asp?blog_id=6358931 I through away the licorice that I bought for me and said "No more", the chocolate has not tempted me the same today although I did almost mindlessly reach a couple of times but said no. The hubby is doing well except for the contact rash he seems to have developed on his trunk and sling arm. Its itchy but OTC hydrocodone cream seems to help. I need a nap but the dogs also need bathed...Not sure which I will do. Right not I am just sitting. This morning I finished that TAX prep and we ha... Sun, 7 May 2017 16:02:03 EST What a beautiful day! http://www.sparkpeople.com/mypage_public_journal_individual.asp?blog_id=6358552 It's gorgeous here today. The hubby got up with me and we went to our small group bible study today at 10 am. We came home for lunch then went to the outlets just to get outside. DH got about 5,000 steps and did some movement to help his rest tonight instead of dozing all day. We took it easy but enjoyed the casual walk in the shaded area's of the outlet.

I am not doing so hot on food today. I have snaked on some comfort food he requested. Yes, chocolate... NONO NO NO NO DONNA... Sat, 6 May 2017 19:13:24 EST Rough night better day http://www.sparkpeople.com/mypage_public_journal_individual.asp?blog_id=6358131 So...DH began to have feeling again about 10 pm. Yes he took his pain pills but it was a rough night after not having any pain meds all day as he was just numb until bedtime. Up and down all night and so was I. I hope we sleep better tonight. Today he has been mobile and using meds as prescribed. He is uncomfortable but managing well all things considered. Still tired and recovering, got my steps in for the day, and still recovering and resting along with the DH. It's rainy and cold he... Fri, 5 May 2017 17:01:59 EST Home from the surgery center http://www.sparkpeople.com/mypage_public_journal_individual.asp?blog_id=6357646 DH had same day surgery and we are both home kicked back in out recliners. He is still numb from the block. Everything went of without a hitch, thank you! I am at about 6,400 steps at 1:30 and need a nap. After I nap I will see about a walk. Right now I am just tired and at a good point to rest.

Keeping on track and hope your are too. Thu, 4 May 2017 14:38:52 EST Dinner success and READY to go! http://www.sparkpeople.com/mypage_public_journal_individual.asp?blog_id=6356994 The spiral Lasagna and pesto chicken (left overs) were a great success with our dinner guest. Oh ya I had left over cheese cake. Everything was LCHF which is how he also eats. I filled up and it was yummy.

Today is a full day with a Daniel Plan bible study at the end which I will need! Despite being busy I strive to keep God first and put aside time to be in the word. Luke's surgery is scheduled tomorrow again. I have a hour cancellation to take care of me and get in a walk... Wed, 3 May 2017 07:30:20 EST Up and going :) http://www.sparkpeople.com/mypage_public_journal_individual.asp?blog_id=6356730 Pushing through until Thursday when the hubby's surgery is rescheduled. I think I am ready but there are a few things that need to fall into place...or not and I will deal with it then. We are expecting delivery on a new adjustable bed which will help my hubs during recovery. We also moved a recliner into the bedroom for possible sleepless nights (I remember oh to well). I am mostly doing well with food choices, yet must admit to having a burrito supreme for lunch today. I will count it ... Tue, 2 May 2017 15:25:48 EST REST yesterday http://www.sparkpeople.com/mypage_public_journal_individual.asp?blog_id=6355974 Yesterday I woke up and went to work in the kitchen prepping for food for this week and making ribbon cut Lasagna for dinner. It turned out great and my hubby likes it. He said "I just have to get used to eating things other than pasta." So far he is liking several new things that cut significant calories using my new Vegi Bullet. I got the fridge and Kitchen clean before church. After lunch I time spent in the office cleaning out and shredding until 2 pm.

My back was hurting ... Mon, 1 May 2017 07:44:42 EST Husband Heart arrhyhemia http://www.sparkpeople.com/mypage_public_journal_individual.asp?blog_id=6355522 We went in to get him shoulder surgery and they cancelled it as he had a heart arrhythmia. So for the next several hours we spent time in ER then to the cardiologist the next day. Well all is well. He has arrhythmia but not the kind they shock or put on blood thinners. He is cleared for surgery and now it needs rescheduled. So my whole routine has been upside down. This morning I prepped food for next week and feel like I am back on track. Purging clothes, folding the winter clothes, hanging the summer clothes. I am so glad its done. I am exhausted and I ended up with 23,928 steps at 6 pm. Lots of effort that doesn't look different but I know is greatly different. It's CLEAN and ready for the spring/summer clothes in ALABAMA.

Hope you have had a great day.
