Almost to 4 weeks out.

So, I have a problem. I have lost a grand total of 2 lbs since surgery. I keep going back up to heavier than I was right before surgery and dropping down to around the same.

I'm drinking all my fluids.
I'm tracking all my food.
I'm getting about 65 to 80 grams of protein per day.
I'm eating between 500 and 700 calories on most days, some days more.
I'm exercising about 20 minutes a day.

Photography is a big hobby of mine. And I am super excited about the fireworks tomorrow! I can't wait to get out and see what I can do with them this year.

The past few days have been over 100 degree temperatures, which is basically the story everywhere across the U.S. It's made for a pretty uneventful weekend. I'm afraid to do anything but walk because my incisions keep opening up if I do anything else. But, it's so hot I can't walk outside either. Thankfully we got some rain today and it's already cooled considerably. I'm hoping for more rain and more cooling for the rest of the week.

Hungry (Day 9)

I'm hungry today. Like legit, stomach growling hunger. I wasn't expecting it 4 days post op. I've eaten 900 calories worth of food today and I feel like a cow. Every other day I was struggling to make 500 calories, even though I know it should be an 800 calorie minimum. Is it normal to be hungry this soon after surgery?

Does anyone know how many calories I'm supposed to staying under a day? I'm sort of paranoid at this point. I don't want to ruin anything.

It has been a wild last few days. Thank you everyone for your support and kind words. I have been in Huntsville, AL with my parents since I came home from the hospital last Thursday. Yesterday we drove back to Birmingham (about 2 hours) to go back and see my surgeon and get my staples removed. I really really really hate that this blog system isn't compatible with Chrome. Really? C'mon guys. It's more popular than firefox nowadays. It's annoying.

I seriously think my doctor is in cahoots with the big pharma companies. My post op drugs were $200 WITHOUT me filling the most expensive, which would have been an additional $140. I know plenty of people who have had this surgery with other surgeons and not paid NEARLY that much. Cheaper drugs do work just as well. Less drugs ...

I'm having issues with the blog service loading. It's odd.

Surgery went well. I woke up in so much pain and the recovery staff didn't want to give me any more pain medicine because I wasn't "breathing deep enough". Well, if they had given me more pain medicine where I could have tolerated breathing deeply, I think the problem would have remedied itself. I wasn't a terribly nice person to the recovery staff, but pain does strange things to people.

It's 11pm the night before my surgery date. I have to be at the hospital bright and early at 5:30 am tomorrow, so I'll make this as brief as possible.

I've been running around trying to get everything in order for the past two days. I had some photos I had to catalog and post as proof galleries and a doll to make and ship for an etsy client. I also had pre-admin testing and a job interview, that I really hope I get. Busy day, all in all.

I'm not sure about every other person who has had gastric bypass, but my surgeon makes all his patients follow a completely liquid only diet for the last 1-2 weeks before surgery. I'll be honest. It sucks. If my mom didn't have left over adipex, I honestly think I might have strangled someone by now.
However, I have lost 14 lbs in 6 days. So, it is absolutely effective.
My surgery will be Wednesday 6/20/12, and, despite my young age, I will be required to stay in the hospital 2 days...
