I have been around but my attention has been divided into so many segments. A lot has happened and I will try to mention as much as I can without making it a really long blog.

First topic is my running. Due to my husband's busy travelling schedule, I usually take the summer off and focus on indoor exercise because I do not have anyone to watch my kids. It's okay by me since I take my training serious once I do start it up so I enjoy the summe... Mon, 23 Jun 2014 17:08:42 EST My 5th half - Miami Beach 13.1 http://www.sparkpeople.com/mypage_public_journal_individual.asp?blog_id=5282865 The Miami Beach 13.1 was my first half a year ago. I had a great run last year, but this year it was even better. The temperature was in my favor for once. Usually I start my races sweating, from the humidity, and that is just waiting around for the gun to go off to start the race. I was in "runner's heaven" on Saturday; the temp was in the high 50's with NO humidity with a slight cool breeze!!!!!

The morning started off a little rough though. I don't know what it is with the 13.1... Mon, 11 Mar 2013 17:34:46 EST Strength training http://www.sparkpeople.com/mypage_public_journal_individual.asp?blog_id=5237625 Lots of things go through my mind when I think about doing strength training.

Before:
Hmmm, I know it is good for me, but I just don't want to do it.

During:
Why am I torturing myself with this workout?

After:
So glad I did it. I feel GREAT!

Strength training done! Repeat conversation on Thursday. Mon, 4 Feb 2013 18:57:49 EST 4th half....ING Miami http://www.sparkpeople.com/mypage_public_journal_individual.asp?blog_id=5229423 Sunday was the ING marathon and half marathon here in Miami. I signed up for this race last year two days after the race for a steal. People fly in from all over the world to run this race. And some like my fellow Miami sparker (MBSHAZZER) use it as a qualifier for the Boston Marathon. Big congrats to you!!!

Friday I went to the expo to pick up my race packet. I was impressed with the race setup from the expo to the finish line. They send you an email with your race info(name, age,... Tue, 29 Jan 2013 21:56:13 EST Salmon wrapped in bacon http://www.sparkpeople.com/mypage_public_journal_individual.asp?blog_id=5207699 .....turkey bacon.

I went grocery shopping Saturday night at my local supermarket, Publix, with the kids and we stopped by the cooking station on our way to the checkout counter. Linda, one of my favorite Publix ladies mans the station a couple nights a week. My plan was to say a quick hello and keep on moving towards checkout. My son was a little hungry (I know...never go to the supermarket hungry) so he wanted to see what Linda was cooking up that night.....Salmon wrapped in bac... Tue, 15 Jan 2013 00:25:02 EST I thought I was going to run a short peaceful 3 miler this morning.....not http://www.sparkpeople.com/mypage_public_journal_individual.asp?blog_id=5178911 So I head out the door this morning for a quick 3 miler. I thought it was going to be nice and quiet. School is out and I'm sure a lot of my neighbors went out of the country or are at home lounging around; it was 9 in the morning. For my short runs I head out my front gate and either run in a cross on the side streets or a straight line, up and back. And yes I run on the streets. There are traffic lights on all the street corners, but these particular streets end with drivers having to turn... Fri, 28 Dec 2012 14:29:35 EST Last minute race http://www.sparkpeople.com/mypage_public_journal_individual.asp?blog_id=5161096 This morning I ran the Weston Rotary half. It was a last minute decision.

My second half was in November; my last blog explains how that race went. There were only a few halfs being run in December so I did not really think about running one this month....until. One of the ladies in a running club called BGR (Black Girls Run) talked this race up on Facebook last week. It was a local run in Broward county, Weston, not too far from my house and it was only $40!!!! I made up my mind l... Sun, 9 Dec 2012 13:07:19 EST They started the race without me.....yikes! http://www.sparkpeople.com/mypage_public_journal_individual.asp?blog_id=5131879 I don't understand what happened because I woke up early enough to make it on time. Everything was laid out last night and the Nano and Garmin charged. I placed the safety pins in my bib, socks stuffed in shoes and flip flops placed in my bag for after the race. This was the best part of my morning....getting ready for the race.

I had planned on leaving the house at 5:30, but somehow I lost track of time and I did not leave until 5:45. I go out my back gate to hop on Doral Blvd. to... Sun, 11 Nov 2012 19:29:42 EST Great weather = a great run http://www.sparkpeople.com/mypage_public_journal_individual.asp?blog_id=5123438 This was not an easy run, but I really enjoyed it because the temps have dropped a bit, here in Miami. Yesterday I ran a 12 miler with the local running store. The morning temps were in the high 50's to low 60's. This is perfect running weather.

It was still dark when we hit the turnpike trail ( about 6:35) and the traffic on the streets was very little. I had a 12 miler planned and my running partner had a 14 miler to do. My city, Doral is growing by the minute and it is refreshi... Sun, 4 Nov 2012 10:23:16 EST You know you are a runner when...... http://www.sparkpeople.com/mypage_public_journal_individual.asp?blog_id=5109151 you get bummed out because you have to postpone your weekly long run with the local running store for one day. 39

I had to postpone my Saturday run until Sunday due to my mother in law's flight. She went to Venezuela for one week (my husband is half Venezuelan/ half French) and she flew back here, to Miami, Friday night. I take my daughter to speech therapy on Saturdays and the airport is on the way so I had already planned to take my MIL to the airport last week.....t... Mon, 22 Oct 2012 22:07:47 EST Refreshing rainy run http://www.sparkpeople.com/mypage_public_journal_individual.asp?blog_id=5098669 I had a fabulous 8 miler yesterday. The week started off hot and humid. Hot weather I can deal with but humidity is another thing. For instance, when the temp is 84, with high humidity outside temps feel like 94.....caliente!!!

Tuesday was a hot and humid run, at 9 in the morning, so I ran in my sports bra and shorts....was so glad that I did. My Wednesday run was NICE; I sweat a lot and it felt refreshing to feel a cool breeze in the hot sun. This was the beginning of very nice w... Sun, 14 Oct 2012 13:51:24 EST Hills ( bridges) or speed work http://www.sparkpeople.com/mypage_public_journal_individual.asp?blog_id=5087284 Hills it was. I am six weeks out from my half in November and I want to make sure I am readdddddy for it. When I trained for my first half, I just ran....a lot on flat streets and I was overwhelmed with the four bridges I had to run up and down back in March at the Miami Beach 13.1.

I am following the Hal Hidgons Novice 2 training plan. I run on Tuesday, Wednesday, Thursday, and long runs on Saturday. Thurdsays are going to be my "torture Thursdays" alternating between speed work ... Fri, 5 Oct 2012 00:04:41 EST Ice cream for breakfast & repeat race report http://www.sparkpeople.com/mypage_public_journal_individual.asp?blog_id=4879484 So yesterday I left the house early to head over to Coconut Grove (Florida) for a 10k. I ran this race last year. My husband watches the kids when I go out for my longs runs on the weekends and also when I run races. Yup, the kids had cookies and cream ice cream for breakfast. And then pop tarts and chocolate milk a little later. Sigh (and shake my head).....no wonder why mommy is the bad guy. All of this happened before I got home at 10:30.

This year was a light year for races. I ... Sun, 13 May 2012 13:54:25 EST This can't be happening to me.....knee pain http://www.sparkpeople.com/mypage_public_journal_individual.asp?blog_id=4865050 So I head out the door for a quick 3 miler this afternoon. I go through my checklist:
Garmin,check
Nano, check
start the Garmin, check, check, check.

I do a short jog through my gated community and then I stop in a shaded parking spot to do my warm up exercises. Within the first 10 to 15 steps, I started to feel a sharp pain, behind my left knee cap. I slow to a walk, bend down and rub my knee and then decide to give it another try to warm up. Again, the pain is star... Thu, 3 May 2012 16:26:00 EST Recap of past two weeks: Spring Break and trying to get back on schedule http://www.sparkpeople.com/mypage_public_journal_individual.asp?blog_id=4803431 It has been hectic for me the past two weeks and I am still trying to adjust to Daylight Savings Time. Thank goodness the time change happened when the kids were on spring break.

We did not go anywhere for spring break....everyone is coming here (Miami....okay not everyone) to party and have fun so most of the hotel bookings are overpriced right now. There is tons to do locally, but it is just a matter of picking something to do or somewhere to go. Yeah, my husband shot down everyt... Sun, 25 Mar 2012 00:20:56 EST The most knowledgeable 46 minute run I have had. http://www.sparkpeople.com/mypage_public_journal_individual.asp?blog_id=4780402 So last Sunday I ran the Miami Beach 13.1. It was my first half. I met up with (MBSHAZZER), Sharon before the race. She is a really sweet person and so glad that I know her. It is funny how we both ran the same race, but had two different perspectives about it. So on to my recovery week.

I was sore in my quads from doing 4 bridges in the race so I wanted to take it easy with my runs this week. I rested on Monday and ran a 3 miler on Tueday, my usual. I took different route and it w... Sat, 10 Mar 2012 09:59:34 EST Race day.....I am a half marathoner!!!!! http://www.sparkpeople.com/mypage_public_journal_individual.asp?blog_id=4770948 My decision to run a half marathon started from a dream over a year ago. After finishing my first 5k (The 2010 Turkey Trot) my girlfriend tried to talk me into running the 2011 ING half. After we came off our runner's high, we quickly realized that we were in no shape or form ready to run an additional 9 miles in 2 months. So we decided to aim for the 2012 ING half. I did not think I would be ready for the ING in January so I aimed for the Miami Beach 13.1 knowing I would have plenty of time ... Sun, 4 Mar 2012 23:31:43 EST Weeks 18 & 19 half marathon training: squish, squish, squish http://www.sparkpeople.com/mypage_public_journal_individual.asp?blog_id=4770631 I am behind two weeks for my half marathon training blogs. I have had a lot on my mind lately and when I get stressed, I get quiet. I ran my race today and I will blog about it right after this post. Plus I am looking for my cable that I need to connect my phone to the computer. I want to add photos to my race blog.

Week 18 started off a little stressful. Monday I go to pick up my son from school and.....he was in the principal's office. He is part of what I call the four musketeer... Sun, 4 Mar 2012 20:04:35 EST Week 17 half marathon training: 6:38 am....oh no http://www.sparkpeople.com/mypage_public_journal_individual.asp?blog_id=4735337 First I will give a quick recap about my week and then my long run. I ran my usual two 3 milers and a 5 miler. I have different routes for all my runs. On my Wednesday route, I saw one of the mom's from my daughter's school while I was running my 5 miler. I was having a little fun around that time using up a little too much energy dancing (and running) to one of the songs. This was a pace run so I had to force myself not to start off too fast. Thursday I saw the guy who picks up the trash in ... Sun, 12 Feb 2012 15:20:38 EST Week 16 half marathon training: juggling my training schedule http://www.sparkpeople.com/mypage_public_journal_individual.asp?blog_id=4727654 The title just about says it all. My husband had to travel out of town last weekend to go help out his airport for the Superbowl. I run during the week while the kids are in school and on the weekends for my long run, my husband watches them. Well with him leaving on Thursday to go to Indiana that meant my long run would have to be moved to Friday......I wish.

Monday afternoon, after my son finished his homework the only thing left to do was read a book and record it in the reading... Tue, 7 Feb 2012 18:29:38 EST Week 14 and 15 half marathon training: too tired to blog http://www.sparkpeople.com/mypage_public_journal_individual.asp?blog_id=4720992 I have been busy the past two weeks. I have been getting in my runs and also I am trying to finish up the 28 day bootcamp dvd. Boy am I am tired. I am adjusting my calories on a weekly basis to meet my fitness goals. Once I reach my calories burned for the week, I sit down and enjoy my accomplishments and rest up for the next busy week. Tired and all, I am happy because my scale is finally moving. I plateaued last April at 162 lbs. and since then I have gained and lost the same 3 to 4 lbs ove... Fri, 3 Feb 2012 20:01:09 EST Week 13 half marathon training: 12 miler with local running store http://www.sparkpeople.com/mypage_public_journal_individual.asp?blog_id=4684619 This week started out a little hectic. On Monday, I had to have an ultrasound on my thyroid and then a trip to the endocrinologist office on Wednesday for the appointment. Back tracking a little, about 5 years ago when my son had just turned one I was working in an ENT's doctor's office and I got really sick. This was a busy office that had six doctors: four were ear specialists, one was for the throat, and one for nose. I had a bad sinus infection and when the doctor did his routine examinat... Mon, 16 Jan 2012 14:31:21 EST Week 12 half marathon training: 12 miler http://www.sparkpeople.com/mypage_public_journal_individual.asp?blog_id=4670209 I knew this week would be challenging. This was my first full week back at training since the holidays. My schedule was back to normal with the kids in school. Yay!!!

The weather last week was all over the place. Monday was my rest day and boy was it a beauty. The forecast for the rest of the week was cold temps warming up by the weekend. Tuesday was the worst. It was in the 40's with wind gusts up to 15 - 20 mph so it felt more like the 30's. I ran in a long sleeve turtleneck shir... Mon, 9 Jan 2012 23:31:41 EST Week 11 half marathon training: Happy New Year....vacation (part 2) http://www.sparkpeople.com/mypage_public_journal_individual.asp?blog_id=4647387 So continuing on from my "Merry Christmas" blog, I will wrap up the vacation in the Smoky Mountains. I was surprised when my husband, myself and the kids did not have to tag along and participate in the activities that my mother in law had planned for the trip.....this is a first. On Christmas Eve, my mother in law, sister in law, and my nephew hopped in the car, early in the morning, and headed off to Knoxville to do the tour of the Biltmore mansion. It is a 250 room mansion that took them 4... I ran on Tuesday and Wednesday and then started my vacation on Thursday.

Monday was a hard day for me. My husband had to go out of town even though his vacation started on Friday. To make matters worse he was traveling to my home city....Chicago. I really wanted to run, but I had no babysitter (my husband) and he was where I have not been since my dad's funeral in February 2007. I moped around the house all Monday.

Tuesday, my husb... Sun, 25 Dec 2011 20:40:28 EST Week 9 half marathon training: 11 miler with a rooster and a couple of ducks http://www.sparkpeople.com/mypage_public_journal_individual.asp?blog_id=4631084 Last week was an interesting week. I had to change up the schedule a bit to fit in the kids holiday parties. My son's party was on Wednesday and my daughter's was on Thursday. Thank goodness I did not have them both on the same day. I ran my usual Tuesday, Wednesday, Thursday, and Saturday.

My runs on Tuesday, and Wednesday were 3 milers and went great. I had to shorten my 5 miler to 2 miles, on Thursday, so that I would have enough time to come home and get all glammed up for my d... Mon, 19 Dec 2011 08:39:46 EST Week 8 half marathon training: 10 miler with my 3 year old in tow http://www.sparkpeople.com/mypage_public_journal_individual.asp?blog_id=4629251 I had an okay week for running. I ran Tuesday, Wednesday, Thursday, and Saturday. This blog is a week late because I have been so tired from running and doing my best to take care of the kids and house. I will blog about my 11 miler tomorrow.

Oh mother nature was all over the place a week ago. My Tuesday run was perfect. It was not too hot or cold so I got in a quick 3 miler and it was a fast one. I am thinking that my 5 miler on Wednesday is going to be just as great...wrong. Wed... Sat, 17 Dec 2011 14:03:15 EST Week 7 half marathon training: 9 miler with a new water bottle http://www.sparkpeople.com/mypage_public_journal_individual.asp?blog_id=4615273 I had a busy week as usual. I am helping one of my neighbors who is returning to work part time. This is week two of me picking up her son and bringing him home to do homework and have a quick snack. I pick up my 3 year old at her school first and then double back to pick up my son and his friend. I learned in week one that they need to be separated otherwise they spend the entire time looking at each others answers. Wow, since when did first grade math become so complicated? I did fairly wel... Tue, 6 Dec 2011 18:03:13 EST Week 6 half marathon training: the Turkey Trot....thank you George http://www.sparkpeople.com/mypage_public_journal_individual.asp?blog_id=4600100 This week was very busy for me. I had to shorten my runs this week because I ran the turkey trot on Thursday....will get to that later. I meant to run on Sunday, but I spent time with the family. My husband was going out of town the next day and was not going to be home for Thanksgiving. So I ran on Monday, Tuesday, Thursday, and will run later today.

Monday was pure chaos. Another Turkey day meal...this time at my daughter's school. She goes to school in the afternoon, but on Mond... Sat, 26 Nov 2011 13:52:19 EST Week 5 half marathon training: sunshine and rain http://www.sparkpeople.com/mypage_public_journal_individual.asp?blog_id=4591206 I had to shift my running schedule a little this week due to my husband traveling and my son's Thanksgiving Day lunch. I have a small window of opportunity to exercise in the afternoon after I drop my daughter off to school at 11:20. So when I drive home change, throw on my Garmin and Nano (I love it, I strap it into a case that fits on my wrist like a watch and I run the ear plug wire up my arm through my shirt), it is around 11:45 - 12 before I head out the door.

I had some good ... Sat, 19 Nov 2011 11:08:31 EST My seven miler on Saturday.....the good and the bad http://www.sparkpeople.com/mypage_public_journal_individual.asp?blog_id=4582135 So I head out the door for my seven miler. There were two men jogging by just as I was locking my front door. One of them said hello; so nice when another runner makes such a small gesture. I did a small warmup run and a few stretches and then I was off. The weather was perfect for South Florida this time of the year. It was about 7:15 so the temps were a cool 70 with no humidity so it really felt more like the 60's; a perfect morning for running. I run a different way for my long runs versu... Sun, 13 Nov 2011 12:02:10 EST It all started with one race last year http://www.sparkpeople.com/mypage_public_journal_individual.asp?blog_id=4548092 My blog was inspired by a comment that I left on Sparkguy's (Chris) 10+ minutes blog. This is what I wrote: "I enjoyed your blog. Thank you for sharing. You are sharing how just getting outside and kicking the ball around for a few minutes with your family or a burst of cardio can make a difference. I will try to incorporate 10 minutes of fitness a day, with my children, to help them acknowledge early on the importance of exercise (and I get to play with them)."

"I used to ru... Sat, 22 Oct 2011 17:06:40 EST Has it been a year already...yes it has!!!!! http://www.sparkpeople.com/mypage_public_journal_individual.asp?blog_id=4451623 I started my journey here on Spark on 8/27/10. Some of the reasons that caused me to get serious about my weight loss were: no longer wanting to be in the overweight category on the BMI rating, I was experiencing pain on my ring finger because I was 30 lbs heavier and I did not want to have my wedding ring cut off again (1st time I was pregnant with my first child), I did not want to be dependent on any medication due to the extra weight, I wanted to be able to climb the stairs in my home and... Sat, 27 Aug 2011 17:45:29 EST I got pulled over by a Doral motorcycle police officer..... http://www.sparkpeople.com/mypage_public_journal_individual.asp?blog_id=4223946 while walking. LOL!!!!!

I used to walk and run in a park down the street from my house. My two year old would see me turning into the entrance and start to fuss because she knew we would be there for a while. So I decided it was time for a change of scenery.

At first I would jog while my son rode his bike to school. I would either walk or jog back and call it a day. Each way was about 1.5 miles. Depending on how I felt, I could get in a 3, 4.5 or 6 mile jog for the day.... Tue, 10 May 2011 20:37:38 EST My first 10k in 18 years!!!!!! http://www.sparkpeople.com/mypage_public_journal_individual.asp?blog_id=4216378 I had a wonderful morning. I finally got to meet (MBSHAZZER- Sharon) in person after chatting with her for many months. The temp in my car read 71 so I was very pleased with the weather. The race took place in Coconut Grove so I had to get there early to find off street parking. This was my first time doing this race so I did not know where I was going; I just followed the group of people and hoped they would take me in the right direction. I finally made it there and met Sharon. Once I got t... Sat, 7 May 2011 12:47:53 EST My first trail run http://www.sparkpeople.com/mypage_public_journal_individual.asp?blog_id=4177492 So this past Sunday morning I woke up early to head up to Oleta State River Park in North Miami Beach for my first 10k trail run. There were three races that day; the 5k, 10k and 13.1 mile trail run. I have ran quite a few 5k races and one 8k and so I decided it was time to take it to the next level; 10k with an adventure.

I did not know what I was getting myself into so I decided to look at the photos from the last trail run they did one month ago. The first photos were of the run... Tue, 19 Apr 2011 18:24:50 EST According to my IPhone app.... http://www.sparkpeople.com/mypage_public_journal_individual.asp?blog_id=4152629 I am healthy!!!!!!!!! Finally. 334

I finally broke my plateau. What a good feeling. My father-in-law came to visit from Switzerland, a few weeks ago and he just went home on Sunday, and of course he brought some Swiss chocolate. The selection has gotten a little lean since I took him to Walgreens during one of his previous visits and showed him our selection of Swiss chocolates. There are a couple that he brings that I absolutely love; hence the plateau (six boxes l... Fri, 8 Apr 2011 21:08:39 EST People are noticing!!!!! http://www.sparkpeople.com/mypage_public_journal_individual.asp?blog_id=4120361 Friday was a great day for me. I dropped my son off at school and then headed home to park the car and go for a short run. I did my usual half mile walk as a warm up and then off I went for my 2 mile jog. It was perfect for running; the morning temp was about 64 with a slight cool breeze. And by ten, it was back to Miami's usual temps in the low 80's. I have asthma but so far the weather has not been an issue for me.

Since I got my jog in, I drove to my son's school early to get a ... Sat, 26 Mar 2011 20:55:22 EST I ran a 5k with a great view http://www.sparkpeople.com/mypage_public_journal_individual.asp?blog_id=4106126 So yesterday I headed over to Miami Beach for the Ocean Drive 5k. The weather was perfect for a race. It was not too hot, too cold, and there was little wind. To be honest I was feeling a little iffy about this race. I have been feeling a little off for the past couple of weeks. I get up and exercise consistently, and I feel good while I am exercising but I just can't put my finger on the emotion I am feeling right now.

The race start was a little later than usual (8:30) compared t... Sun, 20 Mar 2011 23:26:46 EST Do you run with music? http://www.sparkpeople.com/mypage_public_journal_individual.asp?blog_id=4086858 I just started running again a couple of months ago. I have ran a couple of 5ks and one 8k. Waiting for the race to start, I look around and see a lot of people fidgeting with their IPods. I listen to music when I walk and when I go on my runs but not at races. I am afraid that I will focus on the music more and maybe do a little dance. I think it could improve my times because the music will motivate me to run faster. But on the other hand, I think I could run too fast in the beginning and s... Sat, 12 Mar 2011 18:38:19 EST I missed getting a 3rd place metal by 39 seconds, but I still had fun http://www.sparkpeople.com/mypage_public_journal_individual.asp?blog_id=4068919 I knew I wanted to run a race this weekend. I had a choice to run the Doral 5k (right down the street from my house) or the Karhu 5k (Miami Beach). The deciding factor came down to the starting times. The Doral 5K started at 8 am and it was 5 minutes from my house and the Karhu 5K started at 6:30 on Miamia Beach. So the Doral 5K it was.

The weather was perfect for a run. A little windy, but I sweat a lot so I really enjoyed it. I start off a little slow at the beginning and gradual... Sat, 5 Mar 2011 18:44:26 EST I had a great run http://www.sparkpeople.com/mypage_public_journal_individual.asp?blog_id=4033109 Today I ran the Carnaval 8k. I was not sure how I would do since I have only run a couple of 5ks. I want to run a couple of 10ks so I thought this would be a nice introduction to a 10k. My goal was to finish in under an hour, under 50 minutes was a dream. So proud of myself; I finished in 53:06. Woo Ha!!!!! I'll take it.

I got off to a slow start. I was near the back of the crowd. Once I crossed the start line, the bobbing and weaving started. One lady was walking and I was trying ... Sun, 20 Feb 2011 18:27:08 EST I ran the Tropical 5k in Miami today!!!!! http://www.sparkpeople.com/mypage_public_journal_individual.asp?blog_id=3972441 I had a great day today. I woke up early and drove to the Children's Musuem here in Miami for the Tropical 5k. I am going back tomorrow to watch and see if I can cheer on some 25 to 30 sparkers running the ING marathon and half marathon.

This is my second 5k. I am so proud of myself because I did not stop and there were a couple of moments when I wanted to. I just kept going and was hoping to find a person or group that I could tail but that did not happen. I was so impressed to se... Sat, 29 Jan 2011 19:24:55 EST In my size 10 jeans....standing room only http://www.sparkpeople.com/mypage_public_journal_individual.asp?blog_id=3970410 As I continue to lose weight, I reach into the back of my closet to see how close I am to getting back into my old clothes. About three years ago, my father-in-law felt pity for me because I gained about 10lbs. in a short span of time and I did not have anything to wear because I was always a size 6 and I had to go up to a size 10 and eventually a size 12. Well I pulled out a pair of Tommy capris (size 10) today and I could get my legs in (and they were not snug), and zip them up (no struggl... Fri, 28 Jan 2011 22:22:11 EST 5th month anniversary http://www.sparkpeople.com/mypage_public_journal_individual.asp?blog_id=3965576 So it all began 5 months ago while I was reading my email, I stumbled across this promotion on mypoints that read I would get an extra amount of points for signing up; and so I did (for the points of course). Well little did I know it would mean the beginning of a new me. Now of course I did not hop on Spark right away and start working on losing the weight. I kept doing what I was doing. Nothing. Well the weight kept creeping up. When I signed up in August, I was 176lbs. I somehow ended up w... Thu, 27 Jan 2011 10:39:27 EST The scale keeps moving down....Yay!!!! http://www.sparkpeople.com/mypage_public_journal_individual.asp?blog_id=3901151 So glad the holidays are over. I love to see them come and I really love to see them go. Tuesday, I got back on track with my exercise. I started back to doing my videos in the morning and two days this week I walked to pick my son up from school.

I had a good weigh in today. I finally made it into the 160's (169.5 to be exact). I always remember to mention that I exercised and ate well and forget to mention that I am getting between 7 to 8 hours of sleep. In the past, I would get ... Fri, 7 Jan 2011 17:11:19 EST Weigh In 12/31/2010 http://www.sparkpeople.com/mypage_public_journal_individual.asp?blog_id=3875018 Hello there. So this is my last weigh in for the year. I started out this week at 173 and I was able to drop back down to 172.50 (1/2 lb. loss). I'll take it.

Going to the grocery store is pure temptation. All of the bad things are right up front and usually the items going for buy one get one free. I have the willpower to bypass them, but I would like to see more healthy things on sale and I wish Miami had more health food stores. I have to travel to the Kendall Whole Foods store... Fri, 31 Dec 2010 19:05:17 EST Weigh In - Not as bad as I thought it would be http://www.sparkpeople.com/mypage_public_journal_individual.asp?blog_id=3866565 Hello there. I usually do weigh in on Fridays, but I was out of town. My family spent Christmas in the Great Smoky Mountains. We live in Florida, and my mother -in -law wanted her grandchildren to have a white Christmas; and we did. We stayed in a hotel and had to eat out for every meal. I tried to eat healthy when I could....I was surrounded by cookies, chips, fast food restaurants and soda on the ride up to Tenn. from Miami and on the way back. My baby girl got a little sick on the way up a... Tue, 28 Dec 2010 10:25:09 EST Weigh in http://www.sparkpeople.com/mypage_public_journal_individual.asp?blog_id=3851825 Friday is my usual weigh in day. I have been super busy so I have not had a chance to blog yet. Last Friday my weight was 174 and this Friday it was 172.5. Yay!!! I lost 1.5 lbs.

I am exercising, but not as much as I would like due to the cold weather in Miami. I have a two year old at home with me all day so I have to think of her health as well. The indoor outlet mall is down the street from my house, and I would normally go but with the holidays in full season. I am staying awa... Sun, 19 Dec 2010 07:53:14 EST Friday 12/10 Weigh In http://www.sparkpeople.com/mypage_public_journal_individual.asp?blog_id=3835655 Hello there. So today is weigh in day. Last Friday, my weight was 177 and today it is 174. Yes, a 3 pound weight loss.

After last Friday's weigh in, I knew I had to make some changes. I was exercising consistently and eating healthy, but that was not enough. So I made some changes by changing up my exercise days, and I follow the nutrition tracker as closely as possible. There are some things I just won't eat so it is nice to be able to switch an entire meal out or just a fruit or ... Fri, 10 Dec 2010 07:08:22 EST
