We met our DD and DGD there (they flew and we drove). From the cabin it looked like about a 12 hour drive so we thought an easy two days. Wrong - the first day we lost 3 hours sitting in traffic due to an accident so that made the 2nd days drive really long. On the way home we couldn't leave until we dropped the girls off at the Toronto airport for a 4 p.m. flight so we only drove 3 hours that day, 8 hours the next and 2 1... I find myself going out for my morning walk earlier. We're trying to finish up some family obligations in the next couple of weeks so that we can head up to our little cabin in the mountains and enjoy the rest of the season there. Her service was yesterday and the church was fairly full which was nice to see since she was 92 and most of her peers had gone before her. We rejoice that she is at peace even though we will miss her greatly. She had a heart attack late Sunday night and was rushed to the hospital where it was determined there was nothing to be done for her. She was 92 and had a DNR (do not resuscitate). Everyone is coming for dinner to celebrate DS's birthday so I have cleaned up the house, done laundry, baked a cake (left the frosting for the DGD t0 d0), baked DS some cookies to take home, made the mac and cheese and the roast is ready to go in the oven, salad is made and veggies are prepped.
