After months of postponing and waiting for changes in insurance coverage, I finally had anterior cervical fusion surgery on Aug 9. After reviewing my MRI, the surgeon decided to perform 3 levels of the cervical fusion from c4 through c6 to correct degenerated discs, bone spurs and narrowing of the spinal column. My surgeon was a very busy man that day, so I was glad to be first on the table. Surgery lasted 3 hours and then he had two more patients after that. Fortunately, there were no reacti... After doing about a week and a half of squats and core exercises, mowing was soooo much easier! Stopping smoking has had a few different effects on my body functions - bloating, problem BM's and of course an insatiable need to want to snack all the time!!! A few weeks ago I told myself to quit kidding around and realize that I really did need to lose some weight and get in shape. Today was a double weigh in - weekly at home and one at the doc for my annual well woman check up. I was not happy with either result...I am topping the scales at 142 and that is the most I have ever weighed and almost 10 pounds more than my last visit. I have had a difficult time this week being motivated to work out. I think about it, plan it, think about it some more, but have not been able to make myself "just do it".
