Recall how I was having pain/mobility issues with postop foot and that prior surgeon said it would take "a year minimum" for full mobility and remodeling of tendon/scars post-transferred tendon surgery/excission of torn tendon/tendon transfer/osteotomy to return.

Well, I saw two other surgeons and one recommended "shockwave treatment" -- an experimental therapy t... Thu, 11 Sep 2014 20:22:13 EST Maybe Headed Towards Another Surgery...& PICS Hello my dear lovely friends,

I've been super busy w trying to recover from my foot reconstruction surgery. It's been 4.5 mos. Up & down w pain and stiffness. I have to physically massage and/or do ROM exercises on my adhesions every hour. Otherwise they get tight and painful, like a big rock in my ankle joint, and I cannot weight bear or walk :'( Even though I'm able to loosen them myself, they quickly re-form so it's almost useless since it gets exhausting to have to continuous... Sun, 27 Jul 2014 20:53:36 EST SHADY FUN in the SUN w pic :)

I know I've been MIA. I've just been super busy trying to regain full range of motion and stability in my ankle/foot.

PT is going well. Docs and PT are amazed I am able to regain near full mobility so quickly. I have about 95% ROM and I can almost run again :) I believe it's all thanks to my daily yoga practice and also the PT home exercises and the massages at the PT office.

For the past tw... Mon, 5 May 2014 10:05:35 EST FUN video: Spring Clean in Cast & Knee Scooter Saw Dr C on Wed for 2nd postop visit. He was sweet as always. They removed the cute blue cast Dr C had fitted me on 1st postop visit (after I complained the splint from surgery was way too tight and painful) with a tiny circular saw that did not spin. Apparently it's the vibrations of the saw that actually cuts the cast. A few times I did feel the saw touch my skin but then it automatically paused when that happened.

They also removed the staples/stitches. I was bracing for the pa... Sun, 13 Apr 2014 20:30:10 EST COPING with Post-op Immobility & Emotional Eating

I was doing fine and learning to navigate about with my knee scooter and crutches, and even taking my Xoxo to the yard when I noticed the past few days the pain in my tendon site when I'm sleeping has started to get MORE excruciating than before. Now I have to up my dosage of Tylenol and I do NOT want to turn towards the prescription opiates like Percocet for relief of pain... Also my toes have gotten more blue-pu... Fri, 11 Apr 2014 12:19:21 EST So proud! I made it SAFELY down & upstairs on my crutches with Xoxo! Xoxo was SO happy. I actually managed to make it downstairs ON CRUTCHES for the very first time. And back upstairs TWICE today! WOOHOO!

Not bad. Thank goodness I had been building up my upper body muscles prior to the surgery. Otherwise, I'd likely have fallen down the stairs like I did a few months ago when I tried to hobble downstairs with crutches for the first time!

I'm SO proud! :)

Here are some pics of me in yard w/Xoxo:

<img src="http://phot... Wed, 2 Apr 2014 16:50:56 EST Getting Cold-Feet... I caught a cold the past few days. First it was only sniffles, then full-blown runny nose and sore throat and slight cough. I took Benadryl, Tylenol and Nyquil. The drugs zonked me out and I was totally asleep nearly the entire day which irked me because I wanted to do things!

A few days ago I searched online and saw videos of one of the surgical procedures that will be done on me on youtube. If you're like me and are curious about the surgery, you can glimpse them at:

... I figure "Kill two birds with one stone."

I also went to do Iyengar yoga this morning.

My orthopedist said "FDL Tendon transfer and medial glide calcaneal osteotomy". Thu, 20 Feb 2014 18:33:23 EST So blame the victim, HUH?!!! Saw a new PCP yesterday, a female. If you have followed my prior blogs, you'd know I've been considering changing docs...

Although this female PCP was shocked about some of Dr. G's behaviors, e.g., his constantly at every single visit asking if I want pap smears, etc. and that he would personally be performing the pap smears -- the female PCP says she refers her patients to female gynecologists and doesn't do the tests herself because they are too time-consuming though she does go ... Tue, 11 Feb 2014 11:48:34 EST DOC update So I went to see Dr. G. I vented and let him have it...I was so angry...I told him I was considering changing doctors because I question his conduct and character...

Well, I mentioned as much as I thought he needed to hear. He was SO NICE AND ACCOMMODATING, just like he was when I first met him. AND he was PROFESSIONAL this time.
