It's a machine that gently forces air into the lungs while the person is asleep to help keep the passage ways open. By doing so it helps keep oxygen levels up during the night which is suppose to lead to a better quality of sleep. <BR> Not too fond of the concept overall of me needing such a machine. But I'm optimistic that it will help with my quality of sleep. Which I'm hoping will help me overall to have more energy to do things throughout the day. With that e... Thu, 9 Jan 2014 19:30:00 EST Still Cold Outside, but Warming It's still a bit cold outside today, but is finally slowly warming up. Starting to see closer to single digits of both temperature and wind chill within these past couple of hours or so. It was still quite cold this morning though with wind chill temps being close to around minus 30 range. So schools, some businesses, etc were closed for the day. It's been in the negative digits temperature wise outside since last night and is expected to continue for at least a day or two (or maybe longer). The wind chill here has been hovering around minus 30. There hasn't been much snow here though. I thought about seeing if my car worked to drive down to the fitness gym, but decided that I didn't even want to see if my car will start. <BR> The schools and quite a few other places have all closed in the... But with those it seems that I've been met with good, but somewhat limited success. I had lost some weight and I was able to establish a regular sleep schedule. I've been able to maintain for the most part ever since. I've also made some friends through SparkPeople that I'm still friends with. <BR> <BR> I'm making the committment to stick with the program definately much longer than last time. Couldn't get much done yesterday in the way of excercise due to being on the road most of the day driving back and forth to Rochester. The sun is shining with very few clouds in the sky. Visited with my neighbors for a bit this morning. Then went for a nice walk around the neighborhood. Could hear the birds singing and the flowers are starting to come out. Planning on going back out this evening for another walk around the neighborhood. Fri, 13 Apr 2012 16:02:48 EST My Walk Today It was chilly out today here and had snowed a little last night. I had a tough time getting motivated to walk outside. I was not looking forward to it. I had to "self-talk" myself into going through with it. Things such as eating right, exercising, drinking plenty of water each day, etc. Right now have the goal of loosing 50 pounds overall. Did get the chance to try out the body ball I bought. Its pretty cool! I love it! <BR> <BR> It was pretty inexpensive too. I only spent about $9 at my local Walmart for it. I saw some that were even a little more cheaper there. But this one had the Gold's Gym seal on it. I'm not sure if it makes it any better than the others or not. I don't know much about the brand or about the body ball in general. But am still learnin... Fri, 23 Jul 2010 02:05:27 EST Camping Update Camping was awesome! We pitched up a tent and got to cook on the open fire on some of the cast iron pots and pans that we have. I have to say though boiling water for coffee or tea in those kinds of pans gave the water a kind of nutty taste. It wasn't bad- just different. But other than that the pans cooked the food very nice and evenly. Fri, 23 Jul 2010 01:16:40 EST Stuff I Bought I went yesterday and wondered around Walmart for a few hours. <BR> <BR> I ended up buying some tennis balls. They were pretty inexpensive. I got them because I remembered that I had some tennis rackets up in my attic. Which I haven't used in years (but I remembered that they were up there). Which is really exciting because that says to me that it works. I felt great and had learned how to eat to maintain my weight. <BR> I'm starting back with the program because I want to lose about 100 pounds.
