Can't believe the day for my very first baby to arrive is almost here. Are we ready? No, not really. I think emotionally we are. Mentally and physically? Well, considering we don't even have a car seat for her yet... My body has definitely gone through some major changes. We'll see if I ever get to wear that bikini I bought the week I found out I was pregnant, lol! Not because I won't lose the weight, but because now I have stretch marks all over the ... Tue, 20 Jan 2009 08:25:09 EST Big news http://www.sparkpeople.com/mypage_public_journal_individual.asp?blog_id=1382564 Well, I haven't been doing much on SparkPeople lately. I've been feeling exhausted, too tired to do much physical activity. Guess why? I'm pregnant! Woo hoo! We had been trying for over a year. After getting my thyroid hormones under control, I got my fertility back. We'll be expecting our first child on March 1. Can't wait! I must say, though, I didn't think being pregnant would be so tiring! Tue, 5 Aug 2008 15:21:38 EST Updates http://www.sparkpeople.com/mypage_public_journal_individual.asp?blog_id=1284725 Wow, I didn't realize it had been three weeks since I last posted. Well, I finished the Swimsuit Bootcamp workout, though we were out of town for the last week and I kinda fell off the wagon there. I haven't posted a new pic yet because I wanted to get my new swimsuit first! I'll be going shopping on Monday morning :)

Anybody have any ideas on what color would look good with my complexion? I'm very fair (though I have a little more color now due to both sun and sunless tanner) ... Sat, 21 Jun 2008 15:32:40 EST Oops http://www.sparkpeople.com/mypage_public_journal_individual.asp?blog_id=1237708 So the "vacation" definitely got me side-tracked. I haven't done a Swimsuit Bootcamp workout in a week! Holy cow! I sure have some catching up to do. :) I did run 5 miles yesterday and did a little lifting, and I'm definitely feeling it. Just gotta get back on track! I think I'll continue the Bootcamp into June. I WILL look hot in a bikini in time for Ruthie's wedding :) Fri, 30 May 2008 00:15:22 EST Road trip http://www.sparkpeople.com/mypage_public_journal_individual.asp?blog_id=1221537 Russ and I are heading to Florida tomorrow to go to his friend Joe's wedding. Road trip. 14 hours in the car each way. Sitting still. Snacking constantly - to stay awake, because of boredom, and because you never feel quite full unless you just gorged on burgers and fries. Sneaking sips of his huge 64 oz diabetes-in-a-cup (aka soda). Not drinking water to avoid bathroom stops. Huge fast food meals. What do I do?

I need tips to not feel hungry and to get in a little exercise... Wed, 21 May 2008 14:41:10 EST So I stepped on the scale this morning... http://www.sparkpeople.com/mypage_public_journal_individual.asp?blog_id=1211805 So I stepped on the scale this morning and it said 125!!! That's my goal weight! Now, my weight tends to fluctuate by a few pounds, so I'm sure tomorrow it will be back at 128 or so, but still, woo hoo!!!

Now that the scale says what I want it to, now I've just got to convert some fat into muscle mass. I still don't like how much fat is around my thighs though I'm happy with my tummy now :) I think it's the cellulite - without that I'd probably be fine with how my legs look, wi... Fri, 16 May 2008 13:54:51 EST Swimsuit Bootcamp http://www.sparkpeople.com/mypage_public_journal_individual.asp?blog_id=1195898 Well I joined the Swimsuit Bootcamp team. I gotta get ready for Ruthie's wedding! Not for the wedding actually, but home = Florida = BEACH = SWIMSUIT!!! I haven't worn a swimsuit in public since last summer when we went to the lake and that was IT for the summer - I think I wore board shorts over it, too, and it was a one piece, lol. So I've got an old bikini on right now, and when I say old, I mean OLD - I wore this in 8th grade, lol! (Yes I had stopped growing by that point). So a 10 ... Thu, 8 May 2008 13:22:56 EST Cholesterol and thyroid stuff http://www.sparkpeople.com/mypage_public_journal_individual.asp?blog_id=1191471 I just got my results back from my labs! I'm so excited! My thyroid levels are totally normal now, TSH at 1.5! (It was over 100 before!).

In addition, my cholesterol is totally awesome now! A thyroid imbalance can make you have high cholesterol, so I'm sure this is mostly from fixing that, but it might also have something to do with exercise and stuff. Anyway, here's the breakdown:

Total cholesterol:
Before: 254
After: 160 - woo hoo!

Triglyceri... Tue, 6 May 2008 15:04:55 EST New Spark Team http://www.sparkpeople.com/mypage_public_journal_individual.asp?blog_id=1161629 I just made a Spark Team for people who love Shaklee products. If you've never heard of Shaklee, it's a company with over 50 years in business. Their products range from nutritional supplements and weight loss to green cleaning products to beauty and skin care to water and air purification. Oprah has featured the Get Clean products on her show several times now.

My hubby was a "Shaklee baby" (grew up in a Shaklee home) and his immune system is like a brick wall. Or at least, it... Wed, 23 Apr 2008 08:26:30 EST New goals http://www.sparkpeople.com/mypage_public_journal_individual.asp?blog_id=1161606 Well I've decided to start racing. That's right. I'm becoming a runner. Now understand, my body is not designed to run. I have wide hips so my legs don't go straight up and down unless I'm standing with my feet about 12 inches apart, lol. I've never been fast, but I've always been persistent. I hate stopping to walk, even if sometimes people can walk faster than I run when I'm tired, lol! Well, I did a mile yesterday and had my hubby time me. 1.1 miles in 11:18. Not bad for me! Whe... Wed, 23 Apr 2008 08:12:49 EST Bad choices http://www.sparkpeople.com/mypage_public_journal_individual.asp?blog_id=1154476 Well I made some bad choices yesterday. I was doing alright at the start - Russ made me a homemade egg, ham, and cheese bagel before I headed off to my muster. Once there, I avoided the donuts at least, but got some fruit, a mini cinnamon roll, and a piece of pound cake. Could have been worse. Once I got home I had a bowl of cereal and some cottage cheese with tomatoes. Still good. THEN we dropped off some trash at our housing office and they were cooking hot dogs. So even though I had... Sun, 20 Apr 2008 09:32:52 EST Gotta get back on track http://www.sparkpeople.com/mypage_public_journal_individual.asp?blog_id=1138512 So this week wasn't such a hot week for exercising. But that's ok, I'll get back on track this week. I'm planning on planting my flower beds this week and getting some veggie plants! I'm thinking tomatoes for sure, and a bunch of herbs. I'd like to do sugar snap peas and green beans, but I'm not sure how well they'd grow here. I suppose I should get some advice from people who've lived here a long time. Sat, 12 Apr 2008 23:38:09 EST New Trophy! http://www.sparkpeople.com/mypage_public_journal_individual.asp?blog_id=1124577 Woo hoo, I just got the 2500 point trophy! I love SparkPoints :) I think it's great that you can earn them for doing all sorts of healthy things - tracking your food, tracking your fitness, educating yourself by reading articles and emails, logging in every day. What I think is really cool is that you can earn more points by posting on the message boards than almost anything else (cardio minutes are the exception). That's something I've been working on because I tend to be kinda a loner, ... Sun, 6 Apr 2008 22:28:50 EST Zumba http://www.sparkpeople.com/mypage_public_journal_individual.asp?blog_id=1120823 I just love my Zumba class at the gym. It's so much fun and I'm totally sweating after! The best part is that there are so many people in the class that I can disappear and shake my moneymaker without feeling self-conscious, lol. Fri, 4 Apr 2008 23:09:16 EST Skinny Jeans http://www.sparkpeople.com/mypage_public_journal_individual.asp?blog_id=1099395 So my "skinny jeans" are a junior's size 7-8. The jeans I'm wearing right now are also a size 8, but it's a night and day difference. Well, the other day I tried them on. I ZIPPED THEM UP! I had to suck in my stomach to do it, but I DID IT! Yesss!

I also wore my purple dress on Easter that I hadn't been able to fit in since I got out of the military. It wasn't a perfect fit, but it fit well enough to wear it in public! (And without worrying about ripping it by sitting down, ... Wed, 26 Mar 2008 22:38:32 EST Feeling sore! http://www.sparkpeople.com/mypage_public_journal_individual.asp?blog_id=1097543 Haven't posted in a while... I should fix that :) Anyway, I had a great workout yesterday at the gym and worked several upper body muscle groups. I'm feeling it! I love feeling sore (not I-can't-move-sore, but I-had-a-great-workout-sore), because then I know I did something good for myself. I've been reading the pages of SP Motivators, and now that's given me the motivation to become a Motivator, lol! I think I'll have Russ take some "before" pictures of me and then follow up every mont... Wed, 26 Mar 2008 08:18:33 EST On track http://www.sparkpeople.com/mypage_public_journal_individual.asp?blog_id=1056437 I figured out what I need to do to get on track... go stay with my MIL for a couple weeks! Since I've been home I've worked out every day, gotten in my 64 oz of water, and have been eating well. I've even been getting up fairly early (for me anyway), which is another thing I've been wanting to get in the habit of doing. It probably helps that my uber skinny 19-year-old SIL is here motivating me, lol! We shall see if I can establish these habits well enough that they'll stick when I get b... Wed, 5 Mar 2008 22:04:52 EST Hoo boy http://www.sparkpeople.com/mypage_public_journal_individual.asp?blog_id=1038288 Ok, so I've found a big problem area for me: parties. Not only do I chow down on the leftover party food at our house when we host them, but if I go somewhere else, it's like all self-control is gone. We went to the Around the World party this Saturday, and wow, so much good food, you just had to try it all! Then there was the thing at Paige's house where there were two types of cake, cookies, "rabbit turds" (cocoa puffs with peanut butter), and some sort of white chocolate popcorn with m&... Tue, 26 Feb 2008 23:13:30 EST Small Victory http://www.sparkpeople.com/mypage_public_journal_individual.asp?blog_id=1025846 I fit comfortably in my khaki pants again! They're still not a perfect fit, but at least the seams aren't about to rip :) Thu, 21 Feb 2008 16:11:07 EST Last Week http://www.sparkpeople.com/mypage_public_journal_individual.asp?blog_id=1018020 Well I did pretty well last week. I wasn't as strict as I wanted to be, but I did do more cardio than normal, and watched my portions and made sure to get in my fruits and veggies. I've gotten pretty good at getting in my 8 cups of water a day! Yay! I'm actually "thirsty" more often now since my body is used to having all that water. I think my next goal is making sure I get 5 fruits/veggies a day. :)

My weight hasn't gone down, and my clothes don't seem looser, but I'm on my... Mon, 18 Feb 2008 16:51:54 EST Munchies!!! http://www.sparkpeople.com/mypage_public_journal_individual.asp?blog_id=999446 Ok so the past couple of days I've done really well during the day, but I get the munchies at night. I allow myself a snack but I'm still hungry so then it's all over. We had party food in the house from Friday so after pigging out on chips and dip on Friday I went and did it again last night with the cheese torta and crackers. Not good, I'm up a pound instead of down where I should be. At least this morning I was able to resist the donuts we brought for our Sunday school class. I did ha... Sun, 10 Feb 2008 13:59:27 EST So far http://www.sparkpeople.com/mypage_public_journal_individual.asp?blog_id=975753 So far this program is going alright. I'm doing more physically active things and drinking a lot more water. However, I'm also still spending a lot of time on the computer. My eyes hurt from eye strain and yet here I am sitting at the computer again. I feel stressed out and I don't know why. I think I need to go clean/organize. That always makes me feel better :) Or maybe I should exercise, ha! I could do Dance Dance Revolution or maybe see if Sandy wants to go to Turbo Kick class. I... Thu, 31 Jan 2008 16:36:59 EST Giving it a shot http://www.sparkpeople.com/mypage_public_journal_individual.asp?blog_id=955798 Well, here's another program I'm trying out to get healthy. I've done Denise Austin (I love Denise) before but got tired of the same routines all the time, plus I didn't use the meal recipes (and probably won't here either), but this place seems like it has so many more tools.

I've already polished off a liter of water today, and it's only 1:20pm!

So far the forums are great, since I can talk to people in my same situations (thyroid issues, trying to conceive, small wei...
