You can substitute exercise for weight loss:-) Thu, 1 Sep 2016 20:42:30 EST My passion for carbs.....why are you soooo yummy? http://www.sparkpeople.com/mypage_public_journal_individual.asp?blog_id=5384609 Before I went to sub a class this morning at the Y, I stepped on the scale there,...big mistake. My scale at home has been broken and TTOM is looming, so you can guess my reaction...YIKES.
I LIVE for carbs...they are my comfort, my go to, my now "frienimy" Being in the fitness field for 20 years, I can spew nutrition til I'm blue in the face...and my main spew to anyone is ' ANY diet that eliminates and entire food group is not healthy". That said....I can live off carbs. Protein... Mon, 10 Jun 2013 13:30:25 EST I will NOT let myself down. http://www.sparkpeople.com/mypage_public_journal_individual.asp?blog_id=5381620 Lately I have been having the feeling that I want to walk away from my life for a few days...let someone else be me and deal with my woea while I get to be carefree and problem free for a few days....wouldn't that be lovely?? Then I realize that everyone has their own problems. so I should try to figure out how to deal with mine.
One of my "problems" is that I LOVE food (who doesn't?)--especially carbs. I am also a stress eater, and this has come forefront in the last 9 months. How... Fri, 7 Jun 2013 15:25:14 EST Running away from running http://www.sparkpeople.com/mypage_public_journal_individual.asp?blog_id=5283087 I hate to run.. This is no new revolation to me. However, if I plan on finishing the Pittsburgh Marathon, I'd better kick my non-running butt into gear. What's holding me back??? Simple answer---my knees. After 20 years of teaching higher impact aerobics (10+ on a concrete floor covered by linoleium), my knees feel as though they are 90. They swell and I have decreased range of motion. I personally can see and feel this....but do I stop torturing my knees? NOOOOO.....I love teaching too... Mon, 11 Mar 2013 21:21:01 EST Humbled, Finished, Proud http://www.sparkpeople.com/mypage_public_journal_individual.asp?blog_id=5244281 Today was my first 10k and I finished it in 75 minutes (that looks better than 1hr 15 min). I honestly think everyone should participate in some type of event they "think" they can do, but as the event is going on, you are thinking "WHAT AM I DOING??"
The race itself started at 9:45, but I arrived at 7:45 so I could get a decent place to park, dd in tow, If I ever fail to mention, it was a balmy 22 degrees at this point. Since I am already registered and have my number, I pop into ... Sat, 9 Feb 2013 18:18:00 EST Thankful for BLC friends http://www.sparkpeople.com/mypage_public_journal_individual.asp?blog_id=5233738
Even though I have "been" a SparkPerson, it wasn't until Round 21 (current) that I realized what this group of wonderful women mean to me.
Let me explain....Round 19 I was (and at times ) a "newbie" to BLC and did not know what to expect. When I looked at the teams, I, of course being the overachiever that I am, picked one of the more challenging teams to be on, and they accepted me. I was on a different weight loss sites bootcamp challenge before this, so I was comparing the... Fri, 1 Feb 2013 20:42:34 EST 1 step forward...6 steps back (stupid Little Debbie's cakes...) http://www.sparkpeople.com/mypage_public_journal_individual.asp?blog_id=4833736 I'm sure we all know our trigger food or foods....my arch nemesis happens to be cheese curls, that is until I was introduced to Little Debbie's Strawberry Shortcake rolls. Let me tell you my cheese curl story---my friends actually LOVE this story and ask me to tell it to their friends when we meet. Years ago (14 to be exact), I was on Weight Watchers..my weight was dropping and I was happy. The Steelers were in the Super Bowl that year, so we had a small party. A few days later, I found a... Fri, 13 Apr 2012 16:43:38 EST Humbled..... http://www.sparkpeople.com/mypage_public_journal_individual.asp?blog_id=4824908 First off--let me start by saying I LOVE THIS SITE!! I signed-up about 2 years ago, but never reallly took full advantage of what all SparkPeople has to offer...my mistake. I used to belong to another site, but the challenge wasn't there anymore, and the cost/month was getting expensive.
This morning I decieded to work out before I went to work (let me say I need to get up at 3:45 am to be semi-awake and dressed by 4am to do this...then into the shower by 4:30am). UUUUGGGGHHHH...th... Sat, 7 Apr 2012 19:34:54 EST Brainwashed??? http://www.sparkpeople.com/mypage_public_journal_individual.asp?blog_id=4818832 Yesterday as I was tracking my food, I checked to see how many calories I had eaten just in breakfast alone, and it hit me then just how off course or brainwashed I really am. Let me explain---I am a Weight Watchers Lifetime member, and my biggest success with WW was before kids when I could control my food, workouts, and my life. Although my kids are now 13 and 12, they still rum my lifes show..lol. When I did WW back in the late 90's, I followed the "fat and fiber" plan, which was new to... Tue, 3 Apr 2012 16:02:32 EST
