My son committed suicide in February and my husband had a massive heart attack in April and passed away due to complications in June. I'm getting through all of this but have managed to gain back 15 lbs due to stress eating. So here I am, trying to get active on SparkPeople and reverse my weight gain and get back to where I was. Tue, 16 Oct 2012 23:09:18 EST New Recipe-BlackQuinoa Blueberry Pudding http://www.sparkpeople.com/mypage_public_journal_individual.asp?blog_id=4098323 Tried a new recipe last night for Black Quinoa Blueberry Pudding. Of course I had to make it my own, I used sugar substitue for 1/4 C of honey and added an egg for the creamer texture. Also the original recipe called for soy milk which I don't care for. I posted my recipe on Spark Recipes if you'd like to try it. It was yummy for breakfast. I try to keep my carbs at under 30 g per meal, so it works for me on my version of a low carb diet. 252 Thu, 17 Mar 2011 11:22:00 EST Spark Rally May 21, 2011 in Florence, Kentucky near Cincinnati, Ohio http://www.sparkpeople.com/mypage_public_journal_individual.asp?blog_id=4082198 To all my Teams & Members,

A group of SparkPeople are having a rally in Florence Kentucky. My "pouch" is the stomach I have left after my RNY gastric bypass. Even with surgery, losing weight is not an easy thing. Thanks to my SP friends I've located some very helpful information. One item is the "5 day pouch test", and the other is the "Rules of the Pouch". I was eating foods that just slide through my stomach. I've changed the way I was eating and now no longer feel the urge to ... Thu, 3 Feb 2011 13:39:22 EST Struggling http://www.sparkpeople.com/mypage_public_journal_individual.asp?blog_id=3845333 Many people think that if you have weight loss surgery, its easy to loss weight. It certainly helps, but I am still struggling with following my doctors orders. I don't exercise enough and I still want to snack at night. I'm doing the portion control OK, but find my self nibbling. I'm so afraid I will be one of those folks who gain back what they have lost, or just stop losing. Weight loss is never, ever easy. Even with the surgery! Wed, 15 Dec 2010 11:16:01 EST Stuck again. http://www.sparkpeople.com/mypage_public_journal_individual.asp?blog_id=3843995 Well, I have only lost about 2 pounds since thanksgiving. So I seem to be plateauing again. It gets discouraging as I was hoping to be less than 200 lbs before the end of the year, and I had been doing about 10 llbs per month so I thought I could do it. Who knows, may be I will yet.

211 Tue, 14 Dec 2010 17:05:43 EST I drowned my iPhone 4 (2 Months Old) http://www.sparkpeople.com/mypage_public_journal_individual.asp?blog_id=3753686 Put phone in pocket of robe. Decide to turn on light. Notice laundry on floor I had tossed down the stairs. Pick up laundry & put in washer. Robe is dirty, needs washed too. Put it in washer. Look for phone. OH NO!@!$%#^T$% Grab phone out of washer, too late it's all wet. Can't turn it off. Try to dry it with hair dryer on cool setting. Won't do anything. Probably need new phone. In 2 year contract, can't get new phone that way. New phone at least $500. So much for that Thanksgiv... Mon, 1 Nov 2010 10:30:18 EST More realistic expectations. http://www.sparkpeople.com/mypage_public_journal_individual.asp?blog_id=3704756 Well, I have adjusted my expectations. I lost 27 lbs in July, 14 in August, and 12 in September, for a total of 54 lbs in 3 months. I had an appt. with my rheumatologist and he said I was doing great, even for some one with a gastric bypass. The good news is I'm off many of the meds he had me on!

We had a great vacation vacation in Sept. made it hard to go back to work. 211 Sun, 10 Oct 2010 01:18:38 EST Well finally! http://www.sparkpeople.com/mypage_public_journal_individual.asp?blog_id=3637921 I just lost another 3 lbs, maybe the plateau is beginning to shift! 244 Tue, 14 Sep 2010 15:33:59 EST Ok, May be I was expecting too much. http://www.sparkpeople.com/mypage_public_journal_individual.asp?blog_id=3634217 I have lost a total of 46 pounds since my RNY gastric bypass on July 2, 2010. Yeah 46 pounds in approximately 10 weeks. I just expected the rapid weight loss to continue for a bit more, but after some reseach on the net, I found out my loss is fairly typical. I do need to exercise more, no correct that, not more but some. I just always have an excuse for it. Their is no magic bullet, weight doesn't just fall off, even with a gastric bypass, you still have to work at it. Even if my stoma... Mon, 13 Sep 2010 14:52:29 EST I'm not ready to have my weight loss slow down! http://www.sparkpeople.com/mypage_public_journal_individual.asp?blog_id=3577512 I have been losing weight at an amazing rate. Thirty seven pounds in July, of course, having a gastric bypass helps a lot! This month however, I've only lost 12.5 lbs. I have been struggling to get my new plumbing "regulated". I know what it is though, I am going to have to EXERCISE. Not just more but ANY! Last month I could get by with my recovering from surgery, but not any more. My surgeon gave me a complete release for physical exercise. Now I just need to get off of my skinnier bac... My BP is running fine without it, and too low if I take it. I also had an appointment with my RNY surgeon. He said I was a "poster child" for the way things have been going.

Also, I got my new iPhone 4. I love it. It has so many features and I have already used all but 13 G on the 32 G RAM.
