I am on track to walk 1,800 miles for the year! Some of those miles are from walking in place or just walking during commercials while I watch TV. The weather or my schedule sometimes keep me indoors. I have a daily goal of walking outside for a minimum of 10 minutes but usually do 30 minutes. Regardless of where I walked my miles, they all add up and equal body in motion and calories burned. With this extra e... When I got up I thought I would drive into town to the gym and then thought again. It is a beautiful day, 40 degrees with the sun shining so I donned some warm clothing and off I went. It was a nice walk, took me about 90 minutes (I have short legs) and I am so glad I did it. I feel good and I have finally accomplished that goal.... It is a 1000 foot assent in 2.2 miles. It was hard, there were times I thought about turning back. Times where my heart was beating so hard I thought I need to turn back. But with the help and encouragement of a friend and my own determination to not let this mountain beat me, I made it to the top!. My job is the biggest obstacle to exercise. Getting up at 4:00 am to start work at 6:30 doesn't leave me time to exercise in the morning. Working until 4:30 pm and sometimes as late as 5:00 doesn't give me much time after work. So I have to squeeze in exercise. I really enjoy walking and I enjoy going to the gym. Yes I fell short on protein for the day and was at the top of my fat for the day but I adjusted dinner and came within my calories.
