Mon, 19 May 2014 22:05:55 EST Day 2 - Feeling Good http://www.sparkpeople.com/mypage_public_journal_individual.asp?blog_id=5697689 I beat my jogging record by 1 second!!!

I am doing the Run Keeper app and I love it!

Last year, late fall, I got my first iPhone and installed MapMyRun app. I upgraded it and ever since it didn't work properly, so I downloaded the Run Keeper. I also stopped running between January and April. Anyway, today I checked my MapMyRun app records and realized I was jogging almost 2 minutes faster per mile last year at my prime!

Okay....new goal is to get to my all ... Sun, 18 May 2014 13:27:08 EST Starting over with Day 1 http://www.sparkpeople.com/mypage_public_journal_individual.asp?blog_id=5696955 I decided to start fresh once again since I became inactive on this site due to a new career and the horrible winter. I know these are excuses since I could have made sure to at least get 30 minutes of exercising in on my treadmill.

Since I stopped working out due to my excuses, I became a couch potato working from my laptop doing work. I am overwhelmed with my work but I came to the conclusion that this will always be the case. I also realized that if I work extra more hours, I... I LOVE it! It maps out your distance, minutes, calories burned, and elevation. I have mine to speak to me every quarter mile. When the female voice comes on, it says something like this: 0.25 miles in 4.08 seconds. At this pace you are doing 16.32 minutes per mile.

I am doing a free training app to get me into shape for a 5K run. I did my 3rd training objective this windy 65 degree morning. Sat, 12 Apr 2014 14:06:14 EST 1 Year and 5 Days! http://www.sparkpeople.com/mypage_public_journal_individual.asp?blog_id=5664911 I was going to blog on my 1 Year Anniversary on here but time just kept on slipping. I think it was because I was so discouraged with the crappy April Fool's weather and I was feeling slightly sick.

Now I feel better, still a runny nose, but I can deal with that.

Lately, I have been feeling the aches and pains from not exercising. I sort of stopped exercising in January and ended up becoming a couch potato once again. I feel it in my lower back and I also feel "fat... Sat, 5 Apr 2014 09:39:06 EST Day 359 - Updates http://www.sparkpeople.com/mypage_public_journal_individual.asp?blog_id=5653821 I got a new, full time job back in late November and the paperwork to process was over a foot tall! I am a social worker and recently obtained my Masters. I work in residential group homes. The job is very challenging and I am enjoying it very much. Sometimes I make mistakes....like the other day...and I got reprimanded yesterday (giggle)

My house manager's personal belongings were damaged from a client and called me screaming. For 10 minutes she was going off and heading to w... Sat, 22 Mar 2014 10:16:02 EST Day 357 - Jogged a Pathetic Mile http://www.sparkpeople.com/mypage_public_journal_individual.asp?blog_id=5652648 It turned out to be a nice day (after the weird morning snow storm) in the mid 40's with a light breeze, so after work, I decided to jog outdoors.

I took my inhaler and walked / jogged a block with my puppy as my warm-up exercise. I did okay...

Dropped him off at home and off I went for my mile run. The last time I jogged a mile was the first week in January. Wow, I was pathetic!

Last summer, I was able to jog up to 6 miles with several small walking breaks... Thu, 20 Mar 2014 19:09:38 EST Day 337 - March 1st - Going Active Again! http://www.sparkpeople.com/mypage_public_journal_individual.asp?blog_id=5636809 I reset my weight in which I gained 6 pounds. Not too bad since I stopped working out altogether in the last 2 months. I have been insanely busy with my new full time job...which is just going to get more insanely busy since we are going paperless. Talk about scanning mega-documents into a .pdf format and saving to certain locations on the new company software...as well as switching old material from the old software into the new software. Sigh... I've come to realize that everyone else ... Sat, 1 Mar 2014 10:38:02 EST Day 317 - Still Here! http://www.sparkpeople.com/mypage_public_journal_individual.asp?blog_id=5619426 I have been working mega hours that just zapped me away from any form of exercising and on some occasions, good food choices. My training is almost complete - I missed a training session due to flight cancellations to get home for the training...which should have been cancelled!

I am almost caught up with the 6 months of paperwork and getting everything back into State compliance. On all levels! http://www.sparkpeople.com/mypage_public_journal_individual.asp?blog_id=5602061 Wow that I am one day away from 300 days on this journey! After accepting my new, full time position, I found it extremely difficult to get back on track..

Wow, my position I took is a huge mess! I don't know if it was a good or bad thing to get the company's software installed onto my new laptop...I worked the entire weekend, from morning to night. My butt is sore! It is very discouraging when I do not get support from the director. We had a staff meeting headed by the director and he was just lying through his teeth saying how he is very much on top of things...and he was looking right at me when he said it. Grrrrr.....

This weekend is my first time being On-Call, which means I am responsible for about 8 other group homes.

-------

My son, his girlfriend, and I flew ... Sun, 12 Jan 2014 22:06:08 EST Day 274 - Still Holding Steady! http://www.sparkpeople.com/mypage_public_journal_individual.asp?blog_id=5574201 I am still holding steady with my weight. I did make several not so good choices in the food / beverage department....soda, icecream, cheese, sausage, & crackers, Chinese food, pizza....yeah definitely not good choices...

But I am keeping my intake at a moderation!

Today was such a nice day that I tried out my MapMyRun app again. Sat, 28 Dec 2013 23:40:31 EST Day 266 - Eliminating That S.T.R.E.S.S.!!! http://www.sparkpeople.com/mypage_public_journal_individual.asp?blog_id=5569758 It been 3 weeks that I started full time in my new position. It has a tremendous amount of responsibilities and with all new jobs, it can be stressful. My director increased the stress by not supporting me or teaching me what I need to know. He basically told me I am on my own to figure it out. He also screwed up my staff schedule and if there is no coverage for these shifts, then it falls on me to work those shifts on top of my other duties. He is going on a 2 week vacation very soon an... Sun, 22 Dec 2013 10:02:58 EST Day 263 - Work Frustrations http://www.sparkpeople.com/mypage_public_journal_individual.asp?blog_id=5567852 I just recently got promoted at my job as a case manager for 9 clients in two different group homes. I understand that the transition can be quite difficult, but I am getting so frustrated with the lack of support from my director!

I ordered emergency supplies for the homes over two weeks ago that the director actually had to do for me since I was not hooked up to do It myself...the director shipped it to the wrong home! I literally had to use my personal credit card to purchas... I feel like I am really slacking off. I have pretty much stopped tracking my foods and haven't been on the treadmill in over a week.

I still step on the scale every day or two just to make sure I am still hovering at my current weight...which I am!

My new job is extremely stress filled! I am responsible for so much stuff it is making my head spin!

I am a Qualified Intellectual Disabilities Professional (QIDP)... Mon, 16 Dec 2013 22:06:40 EST Day 252 - I Survived My First Week in My New Job http://www.sparkpeople.com/mypage_public_journal_individual.asp?blog_id=5559612 I think I put in at least 50 hours of work in my new position. I have literally immersed myself in the paperwork that I miss my lunch. The previous case manager did a horrendous job keeping up with the paperwork and let some very important deadlines go by where the recipients lost their benefits. The client population I work for are all intellectually disabled and live in group homes. Several actually do work in the sheltered developmental training programs doing piece rate jobs.
... Sun, 8 Dec 2013 08:55:30 EST Day 248 - Mentally Exhausted http://www.sparkpeople.com/mypage_public_journal_individual.asp?blog_id=5557146 Wow, just WOW!

I really dove in head first with my new position! I do just about everything that has to deal with clients, staff, guardians, parents, nurses, etc...

There are mini crisis everywhere I turn and applications to fill out for clients and deadlines to meet and coordinate staff with clients for appointments, etc, not to mention entering data, creating IPs, case notes, etc... As well as paying bills, getting grocery money, petty cash...not to mention the upkee... I so can't wait to fly next month to see her and my dad!

I started my new position, wow! I just totally dived in to drama, paperwork, and meetings! This is day 2 of my full time position. I work out of two group homes and the main office. All locations are within a 5 mile radius from my home! Yay!

... Tue, 3 Dec 2013 09:05:02 EST Day 243 - My Mommie http://www.sparkpeople.com/mypage_public_journal_individual.asp?blog_id=5552619 My mom went in to the hospital several days ago for a heart induced heart attack with the alcohol test. Fri, 22 Nov 2013 15:12:08 EST Days 233, 234, and 235 - Seriously Need to Set Priorities! http://www.sparkpeople.com/mypage_public_journal_individual.asp?blog_id=5546790 I seriously dislike winter and cold, grey, wet weather! I dislike that the sun disappears by 4:30 pm. It is depressing. Every winter, usually starting in November and lasting until late March, I become a lazy couch potato. I don't want to do anything other than work, eat, and watch tv, read, or play games on my iPad. And I gain weight...

I am very thankful that my weight is holding steady and yesterday I did hit my recorded low. I was very good with my eating until we went ou... Thu, 21 Nov 2013 09:40:22 EST Days 230, 231, and 232 - Slacking On My Blogs... http://www.sparkpeople.com/mypage_public_journal_individual.asp?blog_id=5544100 This weekend I just felt like slacking on my blogs and obtaining Sparkpoints. My eating is in the high ranges to being over. I seem to be drinking soda again...at least I had two cans in the last 4 days. That needs to stop because I feel the slight heartburn afterwards as well as sparking food cravings that I normally don't crave.

My weight is holding steady, surprisingly!

I am still exercising with my jogging! I ended up just walking the rest of the mile so that I can log in at least something! 41

Today is my Monday and it will be a short week, ending on Saturday. Unfortunately I can no longer pick up extra hours - so the rest of November, I will be on part time status. 39 <BR... I really don't like to work out in front of my family (aka - husband) because I feel like I have to be accountable for a hard workout. LOL

So, I jogged two miles non-stop. The next mile I did many sprints at various speeds with walking in between so I can catch my breath!

The last mile I did various inclines for the first half mile, then... All I asked of my husband is that in several hours, unplug the crock and store the rest of the food in the fridge.

He may have just done that....hmmmm....

So, after my treadmill workout, I warmed up some roast beef for lunch. The beef fell apart instantly and I also noticed the juice was all gone.....hmmmmm.....

After eating half the sandwic... Wed, 6 Nov 2013 21:50:55 EST Day 219 - Making Progress! http://www.sparkpeople.com/mypage_public_journal_individual.asp?blog_id=5532962 I am officially below 175 pounds! 9 I reached my incremental goal! Since I started this weight loss journey, my original weigh in was 207 pounds, which is just an odd number for me. I like the increments of 5. Well, I found it easier for me if I make my incremental goals land on either a 0 or a 5 on the scale...and on a 0 or a 5 on the pounds lost (which would fall on the 2 or the 7 on the scale) So my next incremental goal is to lose 35 pounds which would put me at 172 pou... I feel like I am working a lot of hours and not making much money. I am worried now that my student loans kicked in with my first payment at the end of this month. Ugh!

I work extremely long hours which messes up my exercising.

I hope that once I land a 40 hour per week job with consistent hours, I will be able to engage in a routine that will accommodate my exercising...particularly with my jogging. Sat, 2 Nov 2013 18:36:16 EST Day 215 - October was Not a Great Month http://www.sparkpeople.com/mypage_public_journal_individual.asp?blog_id=5529616 I tallied up my walking / jogging for the month of October and I only did 38 miles. It is still slightly over a mile per day, on average...but no where near the usual 80+ miles per month. I have been working a ton of hours in October where I had a 20 day streak going without a day off. Two weeks ago, I put in a 60 hour week and this week, I will be finishing up over 50 hours by tomorrow evening.

Next week, I even got suckered in to working an overnight shift, from 6 pm to 7 am.... Fri, 1 Nov 2013 21:44:25 EST Day 214 - Job Interview http://www.sparkpeople.com/mypage_public_journal_individual.asp?blog_id=5528522 I had a job interview with my company. It is not really the direction I want to go but it pays well. The downfall is that I would go salary and I heard that most times other people work longer than the 40 hours per week.

This job is titled QIDP which stands for Qualified Intellectual Disabilities Professional.

I have another job interview on Monday that is outside the agency. My first outside interview!!! This job title is Court Advocacy for women of domestic vio... The puppy was worn out the night before and he slept until when my son normally gets up, but I was awake by then...just resting in bed. 102

I felt energized this morning, so instead of doing 2 - 3 miles on the treadmill, I did 4 miles! 315

What was great about the treadmill is that I can see my progress. I actually did my first mile in 15 minutes!!! I literally shaved off 2 minutes!!! 334</e... Wed, 30 Oct 2013 12:57:38 EST Day 212 - Exhausted! http://www.sparkpeople.com/mypage_public_journal_individual.asp?blog_id=5526918 I feel like I am on a roller coaster ride between feeling alert and feeling tired.

Two nights ago after the annoying cat was gone, I slept amazingly well! That next day (yesterday), I jogged 2 miles, I was very productive and I even worked 8 hours at my job when a girl called off.

Last night, I went to bed and I just couldn't settle my mind. The puppy woke up at 2 am and I took him outside. He went to bed quickly but I couldn't sleep. By 5 am, I did fall asleep onl... Mon, 28 Oct 2013 09:33:45 EST Day 210 - Pleasantly Surprised http://www.sparkpeople.com/mypage_public_journal_individual.asp?blog_id=5524656 After 2 to 3 days of eating the wrong types of food in excess, I stepped on the scale this morning and I did not gain a pound! Strange! I would have assumed that I gained at least 3 pounds!

My sleep is severely lacking. I was in bed by 9 pm but my puppy started barking at 10 pm. I held him, played with him, and took him outside...he finally settled down at 11 pm in the kitchen, which is gated off from the rest of the house. He cried in his cage... The last two nights, my son ... Sun, 27 Oct 2013 13:50:15 EST Day 209 - Taking a Vacation from My Lifestyle... http://www.sparkpeople.com/mypage_public_journal_individual.asp?blog_id=5524195 Working a combined total of 23 hours yesterday and today with 10 more to go for tomorrow, I seem to be taking a vacation from my lifestyle.

Not hitting my water intake, no walking or jogging, eating wrong foods which are conveniently easy to obtain, Subway lunch, lack of sleep which means hitting Duncan Donuts for lattes and swirls...and of course I cave in for munchkins...sigh

Yup, this weekend, I took a vacation from my lifestyle healthy habits.

I plan on g... Sat, 26 Oct 2013 21:15:48 EST Day 207 & 208 - No Exercising Yesterday and Today... http://www.sparkpeople.com/mypage_public_journal_individual.asp?blog_id=5523012 Yesterday I was feeling all over body soreness from working on the gardens. If I sat for awhile, it was very difficult to stand up. Oh I am getting so old...sigh

Today I am working a double shift, so no exercise for me other than taking a handfull of clients to a pumpkin farm to find their pumpkins. It will be cold outside! I am so not ready for winter...

Yesterday after work, I came home to see my son, his girlfriend and another couple were carving pumpkins on my ki... Fri, 25 Oct 2013 09:20:11 EST Day 206 - Cleaned Out the Gardens! http://www.sparkpeople.com/mypage_public_journal_individual.asp?blog_id=5521849 My puppy seems to really enjoy jumping in the small raised garden and run around like a ping pong among the many plants. He likes to attack the plants and in the process, gets very dirty.

Today, I decided to cut down many plants that are dying from the cold weather. It took 2 full bags for the small garden and 5 full bags for the large garden plus the many leaves littering the yard. He cannot yet jump onto the big garden since it is raised higher...but there is a chance! I ra... Wed, 23 Oct 2013 23:48:50 EST
