Got my health fair results in on Friday and the numbers are not what I was expecting. I am all in and taking no prisoners this time. My goal is to lose 37 lbs by 12/7 when I leave on my cruise and I definitely know I can do this. My focus is to really dial in on keeping the data and analyzing the results, then making adjustments. I do this at work all the time so I should be able to do it on this "project". I am excited to... Sun, 30 Jun 2013 11:38:04 EST Reality check http://www.sparkpeople.com/mypage_public_journal_individual.asp?blog_id=4912241 Wow! Wellness Fair today at work, weighed, measured, needle stick and body fat analysis. 43.3% fat, unbelievable. Made me go back to check old data, lowest ever in 12 years was 36.6%. Seems I traded in 20 lbs of muscle for 20 pounds of fat even though I have lost 23 pounds since then! Enough of this, I need to turn this ship around starting today. This is my re-commitment to myself. Final and last because I will make this work. I have the time and the tools so I'm gonna have at it! <... I read the whole book yesterday and thought I'd give it a try. Had to do some serious shopping and was surprised my debit card went through because I don't buy that many veggies usually! They have a fraud tracker on it that stops transactions that don't fit your spending pattern:) Let me know if any of you have had some success on the SB
Enjoy your day! Sun, 17 Apr 2011 07:31:20 EST Bye 2010 http://www.sparkpeople.com/mypage_public_journal_individual.asp?blog_id=3873580 I can honestly say that 2010 will go down in history as the worst year of my life.

I am looking forward to 2011 as the year I am going to LIVE like I have not before. I see I logged 2807 minutes of exercise this year, that was with little effort on my part. I plan on breaking the 10,000 mark in the coming year. That's about 30 minutes a day, something that I should easily be able to hit and will make a huge impact on my fitness. I will lose 40 pounds in 2011 and I am very excit... Warning~this may be a bit of a downer.
My Hubby has been sick since the beginning of August. We have had about every test known to mankind here in Illinois. He isn't making red blood cells, don't know why. Because of this, he is severely anemic, very tired and goes to sleep shortly after dinner every night. Weekends get very lonely because he can sleep for hours at a time and I won't deny him that. We had an appt scheduled for Jan 201... My latest excuse for not sparking much and not taking care of myself has been my Hubby's health. He was hospitalized about 6 weeks ago for high blood pressure and we found out he is severely anemic. 66 tests and a blood transfusion later they have not figured out the cause for his anemia. I have searched the web over and brought any scrap i could find to the doctor. I have decided that this medical mystery will take awhile to unravel and that... Went to bed too early = woke up too early = have time to blog and get some water in this morning. I normally don't have much to blog about, but my experience last Friday compelled me to share the joy I felt all weekend. I work for a company that sponsors a Christmas party for a Charities program for inner-city children. About 100 kids from K through 8th grade attend the party each year. This is the first year I had the time to go to the celebration. I was a helper in the... Tue, 17 Nov 2009 18:32:19 EST 30 Day shred http://www.sparkpeople.com/mypage_public_journal_individual.asp?blog_id=2563190 I was out running errands at Wally World today and saw that Jillian's 30 day shred was only 10 bucks, so I tossed it in the cart. When I got home, I had to unhook the DVD/VCR thingy from my bedroom and set it up on the tv in my guestroom/exercise room/room where my bike and scale hang out. Holy cow, that video kicked my butsky! Sat, 7 Nov 2009 08:50:17 EST Halloween Wedding at Church of the Latter Day Saints http://www.sparkpeople.com/mypage_public_journal_individual.asp?blog_id=2521782 I am heading back to Iowa today to attend a wedding. It is being held at the Church of the Latter Day Saints, which I believe is of Mormon faith. Costumes are strongly incouraged, which is one reason I wouldn't miss it for the world. Who could say they have been to a wedding like this? Only bad thing it takes about 3 hours to get there and the drive can be quite lonely.
Have a Ghostly Day!
Sat, 31 Oct 2009 06:30:16 EST Parents of small ones.....learn from my mistake http://www.sparkpeople.com/mypage_public_journal_individual.asp?blog_id=2513776 Today I took my 15 year old son to the eye doctor because at his last physical the doc mentioned his right eye was weak. What I thought was going to be an exam and a script for contacts/glasses ended out being a lot more. Apparently he has a "Lazy Eye" that is extremely weak. Problem is, at this age, it is very hard to reverse as most of this is fixable only in the formative years. We are going to try patches and see if we can turn this around, however most of the damage is done. Any par... My first order of business,,,,getting rid of my creative excuses om why I can't exercise. My current excuse is that my exercise bike is in the basement, the current hangout of my 15 year old and his various pals. How embarassing would it be for your 41 year old 200 lb Mom to be sweating to the oldies in front of your friends! Well, never mind that my 20 year went away to college in August of last... Sat, 7 Feb 2009 07:48:47 EST YIPPEE!!! http://www.sparkpeople.com/mypage_public_journal_individual.asp?blog_id=1127238 I went to the Dr. today for a 3 month follow up. I had asked her on 1/7 for some medication to help me lose weight after I was informed that I was obese. She said to come back in 3 months after putting some effort into losing weight and we'd see.
She came into the room with a graph showing I had lost 12 pounds in 3 months and wanted to know what I was doing differently. I told her to check out SP, that's all I have been doing. What a great feeling!! Thank you to my fellow Sparkers ... A few more weeks, and heck, this may become a new healthy habit for me. More shocking to me is that I have actually eaten 8 apples this week, which is more than I have eaten in the past 10 years combined! Baby steps, Dawn, babysteps! I finally took my heart rate watch out of the box, read the materials and actually strapped it on while I went for a ride on my Airdyne. I now realize that I have been doing my cardio at too high of an intensity, no wonder I get demotivated so quickly. Also, dear husband knowing I want to wean myself off of Diet Coke and drink more water installed an awesome filter under the kitchen sink to make our water more palatable. I believe I am starting to make small... Sat, 1 Mar 2008 15:58:44 EST
