Of course, things don't always go as planned when it comes to the weather. We all know how cool it has been this summer, so most of my training runs were done under the best weather circumstances, nice and cool! Well, wouldn't you know, the day of the race, the temp rose to 80+ degrees during the race!!! My goal was to complete it in less than 3 hours, meaning 2:59 would have been great. I finished in 3 hours and 5 minutes. And I was so happy to have done so... You would think I would be ecstatic, cheering, and jumping for joy. But, noooooooo, I immediately go into my "this can't be right" mode! I start to think, "Am I sick"? "Is something wrong with me"? I then weight myself over and over and over just to see if the number will... Did I mention that there were hills involved in this run! Yep, about 4 hills as a matter of fact. When running, I use the Jeff Galloway method, I run 6 minutes/walk 1 minute until I complete my training time. I'm just six weeks out before my half marathon and I'm going to be soooooo ready!!
