And, the funny thing is, I didn't plan it, it just sort of happened. I just had this epiphany a few minutes ago after working out and was about to track my fitness minutes for my ticker. I realized that I no longer cared about how many fitness minutes I kept count of, I no longer want a ticker that shows how many more pounds I have to lose to reach my goal, I no longer want a ticker that shows how many pounds I lost. Of course, things don't always go as planned when it comes to the weather. We all know how cool it has been this summer, so most of my training runs were done under the best weather circumstances, nice and cool! Well, wouldn't you know, the day of the race, the temp rose to 80+ degrees during the race!!! My goal was to complete it in less than 3 hours, meaning 2:59 would have been great. I finished in 3 hours and 5 minutes. And I was so happy to have done so... You would think I would be ecstatic, cheering, and jumping for joy. But, noooooooo, I immediately go into my "this can't be right" mode! I start to think, "Am I sick"? "Is something wrong with me"? When running, I use the Jeff Galloway method, I run 6 minutes/walk 1 minute until I complete my training time. I'm just six weeks out before my half marathon and I'm going to be soooooo ready!! One reason is because it's not a quick fix type of weight loss show. The person is not expected to lose 40 pounds in 2 weeks like on other shows. They are given a year. I also like the fact that the show's host, Chris Powell (who is quite nice to look at, by the way) helps them to deal with their emotional issues as well as the physical, without all the screaming and yelling done by some of the other weight loss coaches on TV, not saying any names but Jillian comes to...
