Tue, 7 Feb 2012 17:37:06 EST Niggling Fear http://www.sparkpeople.com/mypage_public_journal_individual.asp?blog_id=4705147 Well, year 2011 with SparkPeople was nothing short of miraculous. I lost 70 pounds between Cinco de Mayo (no particular significance to that date, except I like to say "Cinco de Mayo") and the end of the year. Thank you Lord for your love and direction in my life!

I didn't exercise during that time, and with the start of 2012, I'm starting to kick in with exercise. Now that I am working from home, I'm able to use my break time to do brisk walking, throwing in some 5 pound hand w... Thu, 26 Jan 2012 12:05:03 EST Propensity http://www.sparkpeople.com/mypage_public_journal_individual.asp?blog_id=4671090 Well, here I am, on my last day of work in a "real" office, ready to make the transition to working from home. How God has blessed over the past 6 weeks as I submitted the proposal to my employer. Initially it wasn't even going to be considered. Then my boss scheduled a meeting with HR, after which I was told it's a real possibility, but not for another year. Then discussions with the executive level started, and before I knew it, the proposal was accepted and they wanted it to begin ASAP... Tue, 10 Jan 2012 11:11:52 EST My "Aha" Moment (during the frosting binge) http://www.sparkpeople.com/mypage_public_journal_individual.asp?blog_id=4520706 So last night, I was making some carrot cake bars with cream cheese frosting "for a friend". This, combined with recent stresses at work and in my family, created the perfect storm for reverting to OLD behaviors.

After stopping the Kitchen Aid and lifting it up out of the frosting, I began licking off the beater. This turned into a few rather large spoonfuls of frosting, and from there I grabbed a frosted bar and shoved it in my mouth.

In that **VERY** moment, somethin... Wed, 5 Oct 2011 11:48:50 EST That's God http://www.sparkpeople.com/mypage_public_journal_individual.asp?blog_id=4456246 I received this in an email 9 years ago. It had a huge impact on me then, and it still does today! I don't know who wrote it, but if I did would definitely want to give them credit...

"That's God"

Happy moments, praise God.
Difficult moments, seek God.
Quiet moments, trust God.
Every moment, thank God.

Have you ever been just sitting there, and all of a sudden you feel like doing something nice for someone you care for? That's God. He talks ... It is a fun way to get to know your spark friends! Blessings to you all!

1. WHEN WAS THE LAST TIME YOU CRIED?
This morning, I felt overwhelmed at some big changes going on in life.

3. DO YOU LIKE YOUR HANDWRITING?
Yes, it gets the jo... Fri, 29 Jul 2011 10:23:41 EST "Your Attitude" http://www.sparkpeople.com/mypage_public_journal_individual.asp?blog_id=4387981 Philippians 2:5 “Your attitude should be the same as that of Christ Jesus…”
1 Corinthians 2:16b “…but we have the mind of Christ.”

Today I woke up quaking in my boots. I’m coming up on an important meeting tomorrow night with my parents. The nature of the meeting is regarding my son’s care and education, and likely we will be discussing some interpersonal relating styles. Obviously I am highly invested, AND I am WAY out of my comfort zone here, heading into a very potential... Tue, 26 Jul 2011 17:24:29 EST The Happy Rumble http://www.sparkpeople.com/mypage_public_journal_individual.asp?blog_id=4387409 I've been on my latest "journey" to healthy for almost 3 months now... and eating in the evening is really tough to overcome. What I do: Drink a glass or bottle of water, start counting my blessings and focus on how good that empty feeling in my stomach feels!

Crazy as it sounds, I have gone for so many years without experiencing real hunger because I never let myself get to that point of even a little tummy rumble. Now that I actually have it, it symbolizes control for me. I used... Tue, 26 Jul 2011 12:42:37 EST Clearer Thinking ... New Ideas! http://www.sparkpeople.com/mypage_public_journal_individual.asp?blog_id=4261534 Here I am, nearly 3 weeks into my “sans sugar” journey! I encountered slight discouragement this morning on learning I had actually gained .2 pounds. Yep, that’s “POINT 2”, as in a fraction of one pound, almost not enough to count, right? Right! Says I to myself, “I’m still down 10 pounds, so THERE! Take THAT!” An even more noticeable benefit is that some of the “sugar fog” has lifted! Anyone else out there know what I’m talking about? That sluggish, muscle-aching, low-ebb feeling tha... Sat, 28 May 2011 12:38:25 EST My "Commando" Day http://www.sparkpeople.com/mypage_public_journal_individual.asp?blog_id=4258294 Today was one of “those days”. I awoke, headed to the basement, to discover water seeping in from the extensive rains over the past few days. I sighed, shook my head and proceeded to the laundry room to look for clean underwear. Not a pair in sight. I considered then quickly dismissed borrowing some from my son, when I realized they might make it to my ankle and no further. That thought alone made me giggle.
So what’s a girl to do? I opted for “commando” mode. Yep, that’s right, n... Thu, 26 May 2011 17:42:33 EST
