Wed, 5 Jun 2013 15:40:24 EST 5K and Beyond It has been four years since I ran in the Whidbey Island Marathon and completed the 1/2. I was so on top of the world and told myself that I would keep training and do another one and perhaps even a full marathon. Well, things happened and I slacked off from running and exercising and eating healthy and gained most of my weight back. I started having some health issues and after being in pain for over a year I ended up having a total abdominal hysterectomy on March28th. After my six week ch... Thu, 28 Feb 2013 19:28:07 EST Thundershirt SO, My Chihuahua is afraid of bad weather. We lived on Whidbey Island, Washington for the past four years and did not have to worry about thunderstorms. The only time he would get really spastic was New Years Eve and the 4th of July when people would shoot off fireworks.
We recently moved to Pensacola, Florida and the heavy rain has caused me to miss a few nights sleep due to his anxiety attacks. Last night we had some very loud thunder and lightening and he kept me awake all night ... Sun, 17 Feb 2013 17:21:23 EST Over this So, I was trying the 7 day fast and today was my 5th day.
I am throwing in the towel. Today was eating beef and lots of tomato's. I have been on a plant based diet since the beginning of the year so I rarely eat meat and beef would be my last resort. After having a 85% lean hamburger patty cooked on the George Foreman grill for breakfast along with two sliced tomatoes and the same for lunch I do not think I could eat a single bite more of beef or tomatoes. Tomorrow is beef and vegg... Sat, 16 Feb 2013 19:09:47 EST Day 4 - 7 Day Fast Today was up to 8 bananas, 3 cups of milk and veggie soup.
Did ok today. Good thing I am not exercising right now due to health issues. Thu, 14 Feb 2013 17:53:52 EST Day 2 of the Seven Day Fast I did very well yesterday eating only fruits. Today was vegetables only. Not as good today. I love veggies but I seemed to be craving foods that I do not even eat on a daily basis. I normally eat a plant based/whole foods diet.
It seemed that the television had nothing but fast foods commercials today and my mouth was watering. I did not have much energy today. I feel that I could have slept all day.
I am hoping that tomorrow will be a better day. I am not giving up ! Wed, 13 Feb 2013 19:35:37 EST 7 Day Fast - Day 1 I know people are either all for or all against fasting. This is not a liquid fast. I do not think I could ever do one of those for more than one day a week.
This one is mainly fruits and veggies. There are two days which add hamburger meat. And on day seven brown rice.
I have never done a fasting like this before but I am going to give it a try and see how it goes.
I will blog every morning on my experience of the preceding day.
I already eat mainly all fruits and ... I woke up this morning feeling like I could eat everything in sight so being aware of those feelings I was pretty sure I would be able to be in control and overcome. Needless to say I gave in to temptations. Once I started eating bad things I figured "Oh what the heck". Twelve hours later and not feeling well, I have vowed never to do it again. Ugh! O.K. - I am a very realistic person so I sure hope "never" does not come around any time soon.
