CROWLEY123's SparkPeople Blog CROWLEY123's Blog on SparkPeople, home of free diet plans and a healthy living community 2013.8-10 Don't blink! Three days go by so quickly! Almost in the blink of an eye.
I thought I could go a day, or two, and still be able to remember what I'd eaten well enough to back-track, to meet my goal of tracking my nutrition each day. And I can go two days, but not three.
So as of today I've fallen off the tracking wagon, because I didn't track on the 8th, and I can't remember most of what I ate that day, or enough to get a meaningful record from memory.
I did track today's, and yesterday... Thu, 10 Jan 2013 21:20:17 EST 2013.4-7 keeping it real So, my intension was to blog every single day of the year, to keep myself on task and accountable to my goals.... Well, I guess that isn't for real, because as much as I'd like to do that I just can't get to it every day. Goal adjustment: blog as often as I can.
But, the other goals, to cut out sweets, track my food and work out every day, much more realistic.

I have just finished tracking for today, and am all caught up and completed week 1.
I did workout 6 days this w... Mon, 7 Jan 2013 20:21:57 EST 2013.3 not so easy today I had a very busy day at the office today, and so have not had a chance to work out yet...but I will.
I did track all of my intake, went slightly over calories, while low on protein. I suspect that is because I had cheese with breakfast and lunch.
I also avoided the sweets...even though I came across a bag of caramels that I missed in teh great clean-out of just a few days ago. So they've been staring me in the face all day, but I stared back without eating any.
I'm off to v... Thu, 3 Jan 2013 19:44:18 EST 2013.2 - off to a good start today So far today, I have said good bye to all the relatives visiting, cleaned and refreshed the guests rooms, cleared out the refrigerator, and taken out chicken to cook for dinner. I've tracked my breakfast, and chalked up over 1000 points on my fuel band.

Tracking is really hard - I just can't usually find the will to write everything down, or measure things before I eat them. But I measured my lo-fat cream cheese, for my half bagel at breakfast, and that was easy to track. So, I am... Wed, 2 Jan 2013 10:12:26 EST 2013.1 a mini success to start Today I had a house full of unexpected guests at lunchtime. My rather impromptu plan was to lay out all the remaining goodies after lunch and let the masses consume what they wanted and dispose of the rest.
It worked really well, right up to the point where I found myself with a forkful of key lime pie at my lips! But, I remembered just in time, removed the offending fork, and simply pushed the fork, and the plate away. It actually felt good to have that little victory under my belt to ... Tue, 1 Jan 2013 20:54:07 EST A commitment to commit... Tomorrow is the last day of my first full calendar year with SparkPeople. And I'm thrilled with the changes I have been able to make in that year.
I've lost 30 lbs, and kept 25 of it off, for the whole year.
I've learned to love exercise, and continue to work out even on days when I have every reason in the world not to. That is my best achievement.
But my weight has started to creep back up over the holidays, and I really want to get control of that before it gets out of han... Thu, 20 Sep 2012 06:12:06 EST What a great weekend The weather has been stellar!
I've gotten out to hike or run each day.
Had a wonderful lunch out with my husband and son today,
Just tracked all my food for the day, and met all my goals with 9 calories to spare!!
How great is that?

Pretty darn great, I say. 224 Sun, 16 Sep 2012 20:23:16 EST I'm a loser...again! I have been sitting at the same weight for weeks, months even! And finally I am off the plateau with a small loss...1 lb..two weeks in a row!

Woot! Woot!

I cheated a bit, weighing in on a Sunday night, but it was worth it! I'm happy! 334 Sun, 5 Aug 2012 18:37:29 EST Fabulous far I've had The nicest day today, starting with a casual walk with the dog, just about 3 miles and then taking a long(ish) bike ride through by ways and back roads of NH.

It is a beautiful day here, and I am just so pleased to be in good enough shape to do these things and enjoy them!

Thank you SparkPeople and SparkFriends for helping me get back here!

Sat, 21 Jul 2012 16:09:15 EST Another banner day! I've been doing the training regimen for the 5K YourWay challenge, for about 4 weeks now. I actually just added it to my usual running and workout schedule, but it's been helpful.

So helpful in fact, that I broke my best speed today!

I've been trying to do 5K in under 35 minutes forever! Wed, 18 Jul 2012 21:29:40 EST Happy, happy, joy, joy! I just recalculated my BMI and I am no longer obese!!!

Since joining SparkPeople I've lost over 25 lbs and my BMI went from 33.9 to 29.2!

Not a huge change but enough to take me from the 'obese' to the 'overweight' category.

Now, if I can just get off this plateau and back to the "actually losing weight" category!
252
Tue, 17 Jul 2012 23:51:36 EST Week two, a time to catch up Well, this past week was a kind of different, but worth every calorie and slippery slope.
We spent the week at our lake house, with our newly married daughter, her husband, and our son. For the first time it was all five of us just hanging out.
There was lots of laughing, and cooking and eating, and swimming and eating, and boating and eating and drinking and eating.... and on top of all that, this was a working vacation, so there was a little extra stress around each day. Did I m... Mon, 9 Jul 2012 22:43:35 EST And the beat goes on..... Days 3-6 all went pretty well, and by that I mean no disasters!

Ate well all weekend, not perfect. Still far better than the old me.

Worked out every day, big plus. I find I can deal with most anything, as long as I have a good 60 minute cardio session each day.

Not getting in as much water as I do at home, because there is a problem with the well, so we are on bottled water and trying to make sure it all lasts till Friday. Maybe I will supplement with wine... Mon, 2 Jul 2012 15:33:41 EST Day 2:phase two Day 2 went almost as well as Wednesday. 41
Dietary intake was good. I met my protein and fat goals, and was under on my carbs. Which is fine, if I'm going to skimp on anything it should be carbs. The more I eat the more I crave, especially the processed ones. So I try to focus on fruit and veggies, which have lower carb loads.

Calories were right at the top side of my range; I would have liked it to be on the lower end.

I did have crackers and cheese ... Fri, 29 Jun 2012 05:54:28 EST Day 1 - Phase 2: Stats Ok - so I got on the sale this morning, after not checking in for over 5 weeks.

I weigh EXACTLY the same as I did on May 21 - 172.1 lbs. I'd hoped to lose a few more pounds, and at the same time I was worried that I'd gained a few pounds. But, I was happily disappointed, or is that sadly excited? Either way, it was a break even.

So - this is the perfect place to start anew.

So far today I have had breakfast and lunch on track. This was easy, these are the s... Wed, 27 Jun 2012 14:48:47 EST Making a fresh start ~ Phase 2 I am back from yet another weekend away, which was wonderful, but a lot of eating out has put me in mind of the fact that I have not been as focused on my program as I need to be in order to reach my goal.

So, today I am starting fresh - with a little reflection, a few new goals, and a promise to myself.

I have achieved a fair amount since joining SP, which is GOOD! Hard work, well worth it, so happy to have found this site.. I can't express it. I think you all know ... Tue, 26 Jun 2012 14:53:56 EST Colonial Williamsburg Spent a really nice day walking around Historic Williamsburg, VA with my best friend today...where it was a mere 90 degrees!
Covered most of the old village, 15,000 steps worth, anyway. So even though we had lunch and dinner out AND had a scoop of Jamocha ice cream, I feel like I had a very good day, overall.

Hope you are all enjoying the weekend! Sat, 23 Jun 2012 22:14:29 EST Sweltering here in NH Day 2 of 90+ degrees by mid-morning.

Even with AC it is too hot to work out...much.

I started out with a short walk with the dog. Early this morning..sooo, hot.

Then I broke what was left of my workout into 2 short jogs on the treadmill. That worked, but I'm whooped!

I'm melting....what a world, what a world!

67 Thu, 21 Jun 2012 20:43:33 EST LOVE the changes to the pages! I really like what they did with the fitness tracker - it is streamlined and more intuitive, in my opinion.

Did you also notice that we now get 15 points for food tracked and 5 points for commenting on member blogs! Cool!

This is a big jump for those of us engaged in the relentless pursuit of SPARKPOINTS!

Thanks SP = for taking care of us! 334

Hope you all are having a good day! Wed, 20 Jun 2012 16:49:18 EST A SparkFriend could use some encouragement Hi Team,

A teammate of ours has been a little discouraged lately, and I would like to give her some encouragement.

Would you join me in giving IMREITE a little moral support to help her get back on her game, successful in her journey and enjoying the Spark community.

Maybe stop by her SparkPage, and leave her a word, or send her a goodie to let her know that we care!

=IMREITE&comment_page=117
<BR... It includes things like work on the scrapbook for my daughter, go to the Farmer's Market down the road, take the dog for a hike....

All of them fun, all of them relaxing, yet I sit here perusing the SparkPeople site as if I had all day. Not enough time to do a real cardio workout today, but I got in a couple short bursts of walking, menough to tally up 5,000 steps and burn about 350 calories.
Back to normal tomorrow and I'm looking forward to it!
Thu, 31 May 2012 23:04:54 EST On the road Got a late call on Tuesday, to do a 2-day consult in NJ, so we headed right back out after getting home from vacation.
Best thing is that I am in a hotel with a great fitness center, a nice breakfast buffet, and working with a client that is on a diet!

So, today I stayed 100% on track, had loads of veggies, including a salad for lunch and dinner. I worked out, and had an all around good day. I've tracked my food, my activity, and earned some points!

1st day of my ... Wed, 30 May 2012 20:53:14 EST Last day of vacation Sad to say I have to go home tomorrow...back to my real life.
I think I have done ok, not great, with dietary goals.
I did drink more alcohol than I would have at home, having a cocktail and/or wine each night. that adds up the calories when it is night after night.
Didn't have any junky stuff or sweets though, for the whole trip.
Did very well, working out at least 60 minutes every day.
Didn't weigh myself, but that was easy.
But here is what I'm conserned a... Thu, 24 May 2012 19:37:41 EST This is the tough part We decided to head up to our cottage for the long weekend, a few days early.
This is where it gets hard for me.
This is vacation - this is dinner parties, cocktail parties, sleeping late and hanging out.
How am I going to fit that into the lifestyle of "the new me? I've decided to stop weighing myself for a while.
I don't weigh in every day, but I do it more than once a week.
What often happens if I don't see a loss on any given day, is that I cut back my calories too much. And of course, I also do just the opposite. If I see a good loss, I tend to justify eating extra calories that day because I can afford to.

I think it's time to stop letting the number on the scale define the success or failure of my day-to-day efforts and tim... Wed, 9 May 2012 13:32:44 EST A goal for May.... I have been thinking and thinking about what my May goals are. I have lots of little goals that I could write down, but they won't end in May, or change at the end of a challenge. If I don't achieve a goal, I won't forget about it, or take it off my list.

Each of my little goals are stops along the way, all heading toward the same ultimate goal. So, I guess, what I really have is one - singular - measurable - life permeating - goal that everything else falls under.

This...
