Mon, 14 Jan 2013 10:42:38 EST Hit a cool goal today!! http://www.sparkpeople.com/mypage_public_journal_individual.asp?blog_id=5192138 I hit a goal today! When I started this journey I started writing out an "I want to" list...it's of things I wanted to do, places I wanted to go, things I wanted to wear, personal physical goals...the list is quite long. At this point being 21 months into my journey my list is just about completely DONE but there still are a few things that have not yet got the big cross off.

My husband and I went out this mid-day on a long run, we did 9.14 miles in exactly 2 hours!! Also because it is December, it's time for a year end recap of all of my progress or lack thereof.

This month is very different from other months as I CHOSE to enjoy the holiday fare and all that it entailed...which basically means I chose to eat Lindt chocolates, my homemade tamales, Walker's shortbread cookies(the big COSTCO tin!!), as well as drink Pepp... I've been managing pharma meetings for quite a while, even though I am pretty much anti-pharma...I just manage the people/place/food so it works out ok. This morning's meeting finally took the preverbial cake. Usually with these breakfast, lunch or dinner meetings, which are geared toward physicians and their staff...the meals are generally NOT the healthiest fare...for example...the topic mi... It has taken about 18 months but today was the day that I finally SAW with my own eyes that I have REALLY lost the weight! Every week if not every day I get comments about my weight loss "Hey Skinny", "Slimmy" "you're gonna blow away in the wind" etc, I was even called Barbie this past Sunday...lol...but with every comment I always say "I'm not skinny, I've got more weight to lose but thank you". I have been at this for 18 months and am doing well but as we all know, it’s hard work. Over the last several months as my weight loss has shown through and my running has increased and improved I have been getting lots and lots of comments and opinions. We're all going to meet up and take her out to dinner tonight. I don't eat out a whole lot, main reason I don't is because I can cook what I would order in a restaurant healthier and better tasting (in my humble opinion). Another reason is because it's super easy to blow your calories/fat etc eating out. How come a burger I make at home has triple the fat at a restaurant??!?? Sat, 10 Dec 2011 12:14:58 EST Who can spend a week in Vegas and LOSE weight......ME!! http://www.sparkpeople.com/mypage_public_journal_individual.asp?blog_id=4612971 Ok, so I'm back!! Wow, Vegas is.......Vegas! I spent 6 days there managing a meeting of about 1000 people. Long Days, lots and lots of temptations but when I headed out there, I really was focused on my goal of eating mindfully and not getting the "Big Eye Syndrome" which is seeing SO Much food that I could have...and for free and eating it with reckless abandon.

Before I even left town I had called ahead to the hotel to ask about their gym amenities...Apparently people in Veg... This is my husband's Hanes T Shirt, you can see how fitted it is on 10/28 but here less than a month later it's got roo... Fri, 25 Nov 2011 14:40:57 EST Happiness in the dressing room and a WARNING! http://www.sparkpeople.com/mypage_public_journal_individual.asp?blog_id=4597108 Well, I'm heading out for my Vegas meeting on Sunday 11/27. I will be there for 6 days and am determined to make sure I come back on the lower end of the scale. Just because you are on a business trip, in a city where buffets are King and eating on the cheap is oh so easy to do, there is NO reason WHY one MUST gain weight. Don't forget, when you are eating out with all of that delicious food, it's NOT the same as what you cook at home. Fats are fattier, salty food is saltier....your calor... Wed, 23 Nov 2011 17:40:56 EST 30 Day Shred Results!! 9 very cool changes!! http://www.sparkpeople.com/mypage_public_journal_individual.asp?blog_id=4587493 Well, I finished! I started the 30 Day Shred back on 10/11/11 and completed it last night 11/15/11...yes that does not add up to 30 days perfectly I know. I intended to do the 30 days straight but in reality life happens and it doesn't work out the way you would prefer. I had a total of 6 days off for the entire program with 2 of those days being back to back while I was out of town in a hotel.

Nevertheless, I did each level for 10 full days. This is a tough 30 minute workout.... Wed, 16 Nov 2011 17:50:35 EST I did it!! Tue, 8 Nov 2011 10:18:48 EST If you say you are not motivated to lose weight...maybe this can help. http://www.sparkpeople.com/mypage_public_journal_individual.asp?blog_id=4565111 Ok, if you say you are not motivated or not inspired or are just "not feeling" it to get your butt moving to start or continue to exercise and/or eat right...How about this?

I just called 911 because my neighbor across the street fell down in his driveway. My daughter saw him and yelled to me. I looked out the window and the man looked like he was cleaning his front tire of his car...so I said "no,he's cleaning his car"(albeit it looked odd), then he tried to get up and I could Q... Wed, 2 Nov 2011 13:48:44 EST If you fail to plan you plan to fail! Time for Nov. Planning!! http://www.sparkpeople.com/mypage_public_journal_individual.asp?blog_id=4560544 That saying is really true. It's the time once again to sit down and plan out November's workout schedule. I find that I do so much better when I take time to think about and write out my POA(Plan of Attack). So I open up my handy dandy spreadsheet and get to planning. November is particularly busy for me with a couple of homeschool field trips, a homeschool social studies fair, a couple local meetings to oversee and a 6 day trip to Las Vegas to manage a meeting, not to mention Thanksgivi... Sun, 30 Oct 2011 22:15:19 EST 7 months in...so what, you're not done yet! http://www.sparkpeople.com/mypage_public_journal_individual.asp?blog_id=4557293 Today is my weekly weigh day, additionally it is my monthly check in day. I started my journey on 3/28/11 so every month on the 28th I send an email update with pictures to close friends and family. I do that for two reasons; 1: I may not see them often and it's a good way to have a regular catch up time each month because everyone responds back to my email. And 2: it gives me a good opportunity to encourage a few of my family members who I have real concern about weight -wise and health-... Fri, 28 Oct 2011 11:19:25 EST OH LORD, the airplane seatbelt doesn't fit!!!!!!!!!!!! http://www.sparkpeople.com/mypage_public_journal_individual.asp?blog_id=4547978 Yes, this was a true statement....this time last year! But NOT a fact today!

I travel for my former company every year in the fall to manage meetings around the country. Last year I endured the horror of the airplane seatbelt not fitting. If you are not or have never been obese this blog probably won't affect you the same way it will someone who has been there or is there now. This blog is a tangible way for me to remember something I had surely wanted to forget and it hopefull... Sat, 22 Oct 2011 15:17:05 EST Weightloss; a game of numbers? Well mine don't add up-UGGHHH!! http://www.sparkpeople.com/mypage_public_journal_individual.asp?blog_id=4535231 Ok, this is not a rant or a real complaint...well maybe a little. I've been at this thing for 6 months and it's been going pretty ok. I already had a good all natural/organic/no processed/real food diet, tracking has given me the tool to balance the "too much of a good thing" part of eating a healthy diet. I've kicked butt on exercise, racking up over 13,000 fitness minutes. I drink 8-14 glasses of water per day, etc etc. So I am doing what I know to do.

So, if you do all that ...
