CRAZYDOGLADYBO's SparkPeople Blog CRAZYDOGLADYBO's Blog on SparkPeople, home of free diet plans and a healthy living community New Beginnings I was going to title this "starting over" but that is getting old for me, so today is "New Beginnings".

For the last several months I have told myself that I will/would/could/should do this or that exercise. Hasn't happened. My poor pups are getting fat too as we use to walk all the time, now the walks are short and slow.

What changed? Not sure, but I did get an email saying I had a comment on my Sparkpage several days ago, so here I am finally to check it, and I am hopi... Sun, 4 May 2014 20:29:52 EST Gluten Free Flour Tortillas I have been scouring the internet to find a good recipe for either gluten free flat bread or tortillas. Some were ok first day and so/so on re-heat day, some were awesome on first day and terrible (truly terrible) on re-heat day.

40

So this afternoon I thought about the basic ingredients for normal tortillas, yes I use to make them in the old days, and I said: Why make this harder than it needs to be!! I went downstairs, started up some pinto beans on low he... Thu, 16 Jan 2014 15:22:43 EST Batch cooking day equals exercise day My new place has stairs, computer room is upstairs, and today is batch cooking day!! This means many times up and down the stairs, Jake thinks this is a new game, Annie thinks we are crazy and just watches from her blankets. I have already done my December squat challenge, 130 body squats, and after quite a few trips up and down the stairs, I will be working on some lower body ST.

All is well with myself and the pups. Shoulder still being babied, but it is improving daily! Hopeful... Fri, 13 Dec 2013 12:21:05 EST Recovery.... Plans were for upper body strength training (ST) yesterday, but only if my left shoulder was up to it. Well it wasn't, so I walked/jogged instead. It was COLD, so I used the treadmill and did so/so. Today was all about lower body, let me tell you: Lower body is worked!! I did lower body ST and I walked/jogged on my breaks, zero winds so these were great. Body is now in recovery mode!!

40

Food has been healthy and yummy!! Did I say yummy??

4... Sun, 17 Nov 2013 22:00:56 EST It is the stairs!! My new place is a two story townhouse and I am using the second upstairs bedroom as my computer room and exercise room. I do not own a television as I watch "my shows" online causing me to be going up and down all day, mostly to cook or get water or to let the dogs out.

334

Growing up we have always been told "Don't run up the stairs!", well I run up and down the stairs, except when carrying my one cup of coffee, all day long! Warning alert, make sure dogs a... Fri, 15 Nov 2013 12:33:35 EST Moved again!! I am so sorry that I have been out of touch, but let me tell you it has been crazy!!

I had another attempted break in, let me tell you this has not been fun!! Thank goodness I know the local PD and they do not think I am crazy!!!

The door for the attempted break in is in the back and my pups hang out in the front (looking for me) , now after careful consideration I believe that the first attempt was loud and Jake came around barking loudly scaring off the intruder (Yeah... Tue, 12 Nov 2013 00:38:24 EST Feeling lucky!! OMG Lucky!! So on my Friday I hit a grocery store on the way home, I didn't find the foods I thought I would find, but still this stop caused me to miss traffic (I count this as a win!!) I called back a friend on the drive home, she had stopped by my house and dropped of some squash and noticed that my Annabelle (aka Annie) was missing....

Well Miss Annie is afraid of the world, new house off... Thu, 10 Oct 2013 00:09:36 EST Updates good, bad and stressful I am sorry that I haven't been as active as I should be. The more active I am the better I do, so this sorry is directed to me. On that note I have been doing absolutely awesome on my strength training (ST), but still need to work on my cardio. I am determined to do more ST so this is ok with me. Results are that the scale is stationary and the body is getting more defined! Enough so that I am getting compliments!!

224

My food is good, most days it is perfec... Mon, 23 Sep 2013 23:19:19 EST Sleep Journal I have decided to try a sleep journal. I have a hard time getting enough sleep, this is causing me to struggle to wake in the morning. I am hoping that having a sleep journal will help to remind me to get to bed earlier. I think 4 years is long enough, time to try something different.

102

A friend, actually two, have been sharing their garden bounty! I can't wait to have another garden!! Anyway, I tried some pear tomatoes and they are delicious!!

... Fri, 13 Sep 2013 20:54:35 EST Doing absolutely amazing!!!!! That and coming to the conclusion that dinner doesn't always have to be a meal. Sometimes dinner can be nothing or just some fruit. I have to remember that I don't h... Tue, 10 Sep 2013 23:19:39 EST Rental update I am getting settled into my new place. I discovered after I moved in, from a nice neighbor, that I am the first renter in this place. Previous tenant was a family member and let me tell you I found a lot of problems. Gas stove was broke, repairman came out and looked at it and then at all the gas lines, short version is I now have brand new gas lines and a new stove. I had exposed wires for some lights in the kitchen, now I have no lights (and no exposed wires) in the kitchen, which is fine... Mon, 9 Sep 2013 14:55:22 EST House news/updates I can't remember whether I mentioned my house issues here or not, so back story is that my house has been foreclosed on. I expected this as my expenses in this drafty old house far exceeded my income. I have been advised to be out by Monday and I didn't think that this would be too difficult, well it was terrifying!! Truly terrifying as there isn't any rentals on the market! The paper list anywhere from 3 one day to maybe 15 another. Craigslist had most people not answering phones or if they ... Sat, 10 Aug 2013 23:51:20 EST Today and yesterday ~ Dog with a bone!! I missed blogging yesterday, rather busy with one of the dogs. I believe that Jake, my shepherd mix, got a bone stuck in between his upper teeth 3 nights ago. I initially thought he got stung in the mouth, a very, very common occurrence with Jake!!! Next day he seems better so I take my rest day, see previous blog, and discover later that night that his mouth is still bothering him. He lets me look, color me surprised as mouths are off limits per Jake, and I can clearly see a piece of bone lo... Sat, 10 Aug 2013 00:35:12 EST Rest day I had so many plans for today!! On Sunday night I slept about 30 to 40 minutes, hate insomnia, and then on Monday I got in about 9 hours sleep. I figured that I would sleep nine hours again last night. Nope, not at all, I slept for over 16 hours. Guess I was tired!

So today is a rest day! I live in the area of Prescott Arizona and today we had the return of the Hotshots that lost their lives in the Yarnell Hill Fire. I was unable to watch the procession in person, I had to work, but I did watch many video's on Facebook of the procession that allowed me to feel part of the welcome home that Prescott showed to the Yarnell 19.

I want to take a moment to say welcome home to the Yarnell 19 and that my prayers and thoughts are with their familie... Tue, 2 Apr 2013 22:56:04 EST Back in Arizona I am back in Arizona, I left Oregon on Tuesday as the pass was clear, and I arrived Thursday afternoon. I had clear roads, zero ice or snow, and traffic was awesome (except for that one white truck that has no clue on how to change lanes while driving 75 mph just north of Los Angeles) especially all the truck drivers, so polite! I had the same problem with sleeping, this time I used Uhaul and the truck was great, but the cab was smaller. Jake and Annie didn't have much room, matter of fact Ja...
