CPD623's SparkPeople Blog http://www.sparkpeople.com/mypage_public_journal.asp?id=CPD623 CPD623's Blog on SparkPeople, home of free diet plans and a healthy living community SparkPeople.com http://assets2.sparkpeople.com/assets/nav/logo_spark.gif http://www.sparkpeople.com/ Got a new pedometer http://www.sparkpeople.com/mypage_public_journal_individual.asp?blog_id=5483605 So I realized my old pedometer was not working. Was debating a fit bit but don't have a ton of cash right now with back to school going on. Then an email came from work that they are going to do a step counter for October and I could get a pedometer for $5. That sounded pretty good. Wearing it now and almost at 1000 steps for the day so far. Not bad for a desk job. Will be interested to see how sedentary I really am. Thu, 12 Sep 2013 11:01:49 EST Great website http://www.sparkpeople.com/mypage_public_journal_individual.asp?blog_id=5474359 I was looking for some calculators this morning and found this one:

Was able to add more to my monthly tracking with it. Looking forward to more improvments. Still working to get out of the overweight category, but glad some of my clothes are fitting better.

Have a great September everyone! Tue, 3 Sep 2013 09:25:18 EST Today is a stressful day http://www.sparkpeople.com/mypage_public_journal_individual.asp?blog_id=5457295 WORK IS NUTS.

And so today I am "starving." First time in a long time I am absolutely seeing how I eat to cope with stress. I'm trying really hard not to walk to the vending machine for a snickers.

Cross your fingers I can stay strong. Fri, 16 Aug 2013 14:16:29 EST Challenge? http://www.sparkpeople.com/mypage_public_journal_individual.asp?blog_id=5440807 What has been your biggest challenge with your diet?

Mine appears to be eating enough protein. Based on my food preferences in the tracker I just don't seem to eat enough of it. Really have to be creative to hit that goal in the tool and I barely hit the low end every day.

Not sure if Sparkpeople made that high to get me to reach or if I really have been low on protein my whole life. Could explain some of the muscle issues I have.

Thanks for reading. This ... Thu, 1 Aug 2013 09:32:35 EST Trying again http://www.sparkpeople.com/mypage_public_journal_individual.asp?blog_id=5437754 So I posted a bunch of questions last week... no responses. Either I'm being way to personal or my blog got buried in the feed list. Trying again with the Sparkpeople function question. Hoping you will share your thoughts.

Have any of you merged your fitness with the nutrition tracker? I'm not sure I want my calories changing daily depending on how good I am with working out. Some days are better than others but I think I need to keep them separate. Wondering what you are all doing... Mon, 29 Jul 2013 19:31:10 EST Questions for you, would love your thoughts http://www.sparkpeople.com/mypage_public_journal_individual.asp?blog_id=5430809 1. Have any of you merged your fitness with the nutrition tracker? I'm not sure I want my calories changing daily depending on how good I am with working out. Some days are better than others but I think I need to keep them separate. Wondering what you are all doing.

2. Regardless of if you have merged... do you let yourself cheat if you really do workout a lot? I have a second job that is very physical. Before I recommitted to losing this weight, I used to eat a candy bar on my br... Tue, 23 Jul 2013 16:12:51 EST End of sleep blogging http://www.sparkpeople.com/mypage_public_journal_individual.asp?blog_id=5430418 We lived through the retreat and I am sleeping again WOOHOO.

I am exhausted though and it will take me a few days to recover. We didn't get to bed til 2am on Sat/Sun and I had to be at work at 8am. Took a nap that afternoon and went to bed around 11. Went to bed earlier last night (like 10). Hoping this week to get back to some good sleep.

In other news, my daughter is on her way home from a trip, her younger brother and his puppy passed obedience class and I get to m... Tue, 23 Jul 2013 10:05:59 EST Day 5: am mildly incoherent http://www.sparkpeople.com/mypage_public_journal_individual.asp?blog_id=5426482 Last night was wonderful but draining. And the heat is making it really hard to sleep. Plus my daughter is traveling and her cat is lonely. Needless to say a bundle of fur on my feet is not helping the overwarm situation. The incoherent part of my headline? I just told my son that his sister made it safely from Spance to Frain. Twice.

What time did you wake up today? 7:40 AM (when my husband woke me up)
What time are you lying down to go to sleep? 11 PM
What, if any, was... Fri, 19 Jul 2013 13:11:27 EST Day 4, am dragging now http://www.sparkpeople.com/mypage_public_journal_individual.asp?blog_id=5425287 This retreat is a wonderful experience. But I still need to work. Luckily I was able to take off from my second job to pull this off, but these days and nights are going long.

What time did you wake up today? 7:20 AM (when my husband woke me up)
What time are you lying down to go to sleep? 12:30 AM
What, if any, was your bedtime routine? toilet, brush teeth, talk to son
What were the last food(s) you consumed tonight? Thu, 18 Jul 2013 11:45:15 EST Day 3, I picked the worst week to start this http://www.sparkpeople.com/mypage_public_journal_individual.asp?blog_id=5424026 This week I am helping with a retreat at my Church and my kids are all over the place. Needless to say this was probably the worst week ever to start tracking my sleep. But then again, when it is ever a good time? One of my bad habits is to find reasons to not start healthy behaviors. Here goes:

What time did you wake up today? 7:20 AM (when husband woke me up after I slept thru alarm)
What time are you lying down to go to sleep? 12:30 AM
What, if any, was your bedtime ro... Tue, 16 Jul 2013 09:57:40 EST Sleep Challenge http://www.sparkpeople.com/mypage_public_journal_individual.asp?blog_id=5421587 I found the SparkPeople Sleep Challenge today.

Going to start it. http://www.sparkpeople.com/myspark/groups_
individual.asp

I need to track these questions and figured easiest way was on my blog... and I'm willing to share.

Spend a few minutes (before you go to sleep) briefly answering the following questions. Mon, 15 Jul 2013 09:32:46 EST My tongue grew up http://www.sparkpeople.com/mypage_public_journal_individual.asp?blog_id=5417663 I always told my kids that they had to try things because "their tongue might have grown up" and would like the new taste. Sometimes they did and sometimes they didn't.

When I rejoined Sparkpeople this time, I have made a huge effort to increase my protein. It was sorely lacking in my diet, I am a carbaholic.

As of yesterday I finally had a good result from the daily tracker. I managed to hit all the goals the system wants for me... I was on track with calories, carbs,... Thu, 11 Jul 2013 09:51:48 EST Sore today http://www.sparkpeople.com/mypage_public_journal_individual.asp?blog_id=5413356 so yesterday I worked and worked out. First time I really hit lots of minutes with my efforts since relaunching my spark page. today I am sore but happy about it :) Sun, 7 Jul 2013 15:14:07 EST My dog has been sick http://www.sparkpeople.com/mypage_public_journal_individual.asp?blog_id=5408754 We have a new puppy named Morgan. She's kind of a difficult dog, an Australian Cattle dog who was abused before we got her. She picked up a virus last week and had to go the vet overnight for fluids, she got so dehydrated. Picking her up in an hour. Hoping we didn't lose all of her training with this episode... things were just starting to go better. Cross your fingers for me. Tue, 2 Jul 2013 16:06:31 EST Tried something new and liked it http://www.sparkpeople.com/mypage_public_journal_individual.asp?blog_id=5403832 It appears my biggest issue is getting enough protein. So I am trying to be creative. Looked at veggie burgers tonight in the store and picked up the MorningStar Mediterrean kind with the chick peas. I had made Texas Caviar and thought it might be Ok together.

I cooked the patty, cut it up and mixed a half cup of the Texas Caviar with it. Did not have bread. It was tasty. Just about 200 calories and I'm not hungry right now. I'm pleased that I tried something new, that it turned o... Thu, 27 Jun 2013 18:20:16 EST Health Study Results http://www.sparkpeople.com/mypage_public_journal_individual.asp?blog_id=5402489 I tried to join a research study but I was too healthy for it. That was cool to learn. But as part of the test I was told my body fat is 31.1%. My weight on my 5'5" frame is 158, which I know is overweight, I just didn't realize that almost 50 lbs of that was fat. I am much more motivated with this info. Wed, 26 Jun 2013 13:36:29 EST Back again http://www.sparkpeople.com/mypage_public_journal_individual.asp?blog_id=5397216 Ok, so five years after I first joined SparkPeople I am back again. The weight crept back and I refuse to buy new clothes in a larger size.

Fri, 21 Jun 2013 10:15:26 EST
