Is it OK as long as I was too busy?? I still try to log on and skim the friend feed. In March my sewing machine really did die, and I got myself a new Phaff about a week later. I have only sewn a couple times on it. I was working on 7 "Britches for Boys" and 22 "Little Dresses for Africa" I still have the ties on three dresses to finish, and they can be mailed off. I'm trying to use up some of my stash for this volu... Sun, 26 May 2013 16:46:56 EST Protein Energy Bites http://www.sparkpeople.com/mypage_public_journal_individual.asp?blog_id=5316538 Have you tried the protein energy bites?
1 cup oatmeal
1 cup coconut
1/2 cup choc. chips
1/2 cup peanut butter
1/2 cup ground flax seed
1/3 cup honey
1 teaspoon vanilla

I mix this all together and roll them into balls. I store in a covered container in the fridge. Healthy for a snack, and really helps curb my appetite. Mon, 8 Apr 2013 23:15:44 EST My sewing machine died today http://www.sparkpeople.com/mypage_public_journal_individual.asp?blog_id=5290322 I'm sure my sewing machine is DEAD. It was acting up several months ago, hesitating to go, and the repair guy said he thought the motor was going out. Thank God it didn't die when I was doing all my Christmas projects. It was used when I bought it, over 35 years ago. It has been with me through thick and thin, (and thick and thin again!). Anyway, this machine was a dream! It had the best tension, never gave me problems, etc. And I sew A LOT!!! I do have another machine from on my quilting fra... Sun, 17 Mar 2013 21:07:34 EST Will I ever get to sew again??? http://www.sparkpeople.com/mypage_public_journal_individual.asp?blog_id=5245735 This week I got a queen size flannel quilt top done, and two large tops for "comforters" from wool blocks I got from my long gone grandma. It was fun to FINALLY use something up. Tomorrow, though, I am going to move an insane amount of "stuff" and put up 9, yes 9, large storage shelves in my storage room. Hopefully, as the stuff goes back in, I can sort out and get it all organized. No sewing 'til that job is done. :( Will I ever get to sew again??? Sun, 10 Feb 2013 22:45:27 EST Been pretty darn productive!! http://www.sparkpeople.com/mypage_public_journal_individual.asp?blog_id=5177674 Hope you all had a Merry Christmas! I'm taking a couple days off to get back on track with my eating. I always do several jigsaw puzzles (like about a dozen) over the holidays to relax. Just finished a 1,000 piece one last night. It took one evening and the next afternoon. Maybe another one today. I always keep track of all my crafts and sewing projects for the entire year. I am retired, (or maybe just TIRED) and I can't sit and do nothing, so my total for this year was 216 things. A few we... Thu, 27 Dec 2012 12:16:11 EST Home at last! http://www.sparkpeople.com/mypage_public_journal_individual.asp?blog_id=4884059 We were gone to my BIL's funeral in TX this week. It was good to see family and get to visit, but there's no place like home! I got a little out of control on my eating, and it's so easy to munch in the car (2 days each way) It's good to be back home, where I have better choices available. Had a garden lettuce salad last night that really hit the spot! Back to a better work routine, too. Keep sparking! Wed, 16 May 2012 11:35:30 EST Glad and Sad http://www.sparkpeople.com/mypage_public_journal_individual.asp?blog_id=4872077 Hi everyone! Just popping in to say hello and hope everyone is doing ok. Garden season is upon us. I've been busy planting garden, seeds and tomato and pepper plants, and flower pots, etc. And I am already using rhubarb, picking asparagus, radishes, and lettuce, (and of course, weeds. Did you know you can eat the weed, lambsquarters, like spinach?? YUM!!) I have plans to finish planting my melons and cukes today. Then we are headed on a road trip to TX for my brother-in-laws funeral. Never a ... Tue, 8 May 2012 10:44:48 EST STILL busy!! ;) http://www.sparkpeople.com/mypage_public_journal_individual.asp?blog_id=4782944 I haven't been visiting with my Sparkfriends much lately, but that means I'm gone, or getting lots done. I am working on several projects, since my last post. I also made a first Communion dress and veil for my GD. I have 2 quilt tops done(a kit and a feedsack Grandmother's fan) this winter, another done (Althena's Puzzle) that needs borders, and another feedsack Grandmother's fan with the blocks partially done. And I have started on the blocks on a Winner's Bouquet queen size quilt. It is a ... Mon, 12 Mar 2012 00:44:33 EST Been super BUSY!!! http://www.sparkpeople.com/mypage_public_journal_individual.asp?blog_id=4746055 I haven't been on here lately. Too busy! I am tracking, just not reading and chatting so much. Since my last post, I've been on vacation to Florida, crocheted a baby blanket, I painted half my mom's huge kitchen,(fussy painting around her uneven border 'cause she wanted to keep it) sewed up 4 pairs of linen patchwork shorts (for my hippie/musician son) did window treatment for 6 windows for my son, made a baby blanket with prairie points, 5 pillows, have the binding on three sides of my butt... Sun, 19 Feb 2012 12:29:24 EST My goal for 2012 http://www.sparkpeople.com/mypage_public_journal_individual.asp?blog_id=4654425 I have been lucky to maintain my loss until the holidays, and have about 3 or 4 pounds to get back off, plus a few more to get to my goal weight. I decided to set my goal like this. If I stay within my calorie range, I walk the 1-mile, but if I go over-- I have to do the 2-mile. Over 2 days in a row, I'll go for the 3-mile. Believe me, that's incentive to eat less!! LOL I am woman, hear me roar!!! WE can do this! I heard my Mom's dr. say once-- If we women can live through childbirth, we ca... Tue, 3 Jan 2012 14:33:03 EST I'm celebrating my anniversary, New Year's, and my Birthday with a nice quiet evening at home.... http://www.sparkpeople.com/mypage_public_journal_individual.asp?blog_id=4647435 I hardly ever make resolutions. I can never stick with them. But this year I have more confidence, because I have the lifestyle change mentality.
1. I hope to exercise at least 5 days/week.
2. Reach my goal weight by May for my class reunion.
3. Organize/clean a spot, counter, or drawer every day.
4. Be productive almost everyday. Do a fix-it project, work on a craft or sew or quilt.

Best of luck to all of you with your goals. Happy New Year! Sat, 31 Dec 2011 23:52:00 EST OH NO!!!!! I fell off the wagon and on to the cookie tray! http://www.sparkpeople.com/mypage_public_journal_individual.asp?blog_id=4638039 Oh no! I fell off the wagon, and on to the cookie tray! LOL I haven't done so well as far as watching my calories lately. I have three trays of cookies, still waiting to help our families celebrate. I know that my sneaking a few too many goodies is not a habit, so I'm okay with it. When my company is gone, things will settle down quickly. I hope you all are doing well, and enjoying the Christmas season with family and friends! Christmas blessings to you all!
Pam Sun, 25 Dec 2011 18:38:10 EST Sewing up a storm! http://www.sparkpeople.com/mypage_public_journal_individual.asp?blog_id=4625953 I am amazed at myself how much I have gotten done in the last 2 weeks. I made my daughter a 2-pc. outfit, both my daughters a pair of pajamas, 11 pairs of actual boxers shorts for a couple of my sons(they like homemade) and--- 2-pc. pajamas for 6 of the little grankids. That's a total of 29 things!!! They were all easy patterns, and I sew very fast, and assembly line style, but that's still good! A few more projects and I'll be ready for the holidays. I should be thin from not having tim... Wed, 14 Dec 2011 20:55:15 EST Amen! No crisis, after all! http://www.sparkpeople.com/mypage_public_journal_individual.asp?blog_id=4618350 I thought I was having a computer crisis last night, but I think we have it worked out. My screen just died, I didn't really lose everything . But I had to buy a $100 new monitor which lets us see the screen. The stuff is still there, but now I have a laptop connected to a (huge)monitor connected to a separate keyboard and it won't all fit in my computer desk. :( I hope Santa brings me a new laptop for Christmas! He knows I know he knows I need one!! 211 I am just glad I did... Thu, 8 Dec 2011 21:43:07 EST A great relaxing day! http://www.sparkpeople.com/mypage_public_journal_individual.asp?blog_id=4612630 Today was a great day for relaxing! After the snow yesterday, I felt like staying in and hunkering down. Yesterday was our town's Christmas Tour of Homes. Our home was featured. It was 2 weeks of a lot of work, but a great incentive to get several decorating projects and fix-it jobs taken care of that I've procrastinated about for 2 1/2 yrs--since we built our house. I usually keep busy, but certain projects just kept getting put off. Don't get me wrong, I didn't get my WHOLE list done, bu... Mon, 5 Dec 2011 00:17:08 EST On a roll... http://www.sparkpeople.com/mypage_public_journal_individual.asp?blog_id=4590743 I was tricked, on Halloween, I mean asked, to be in the Christmas Tour of Homes. We have a beautiful new home (2 years) and I love showing it to everyone, but I always have a finish it, fix-it, to do list that simply doesn't want to go away. The last week or so I have been getting LOTS done, including making and hanging a Roman shade, 6 decorative bed pillows, pieced a comforter and shams, and painting a large bathroom last night. Today I got the binding on a Christmas gift(comforter), and... Fri, 18 Nov 2011 23:24:02 EST I'm back, Kind of!!!! http://www.sparkpeople.com/mypage_public_journal_individual.asp?blog_id=4458285 Hi there! I haven't been on Sparkpeople much lately. I usually log my food, but otherwise have been gone, or too busy. We went on a cruise August 5th, and had to cut short the second half of our vacation because my dad died while we were up there. Sucks! We had a long, sad time getting back in time for the funeral. Since then I have been staying in Nebraska with my elderly mom 3 or 4 days/week, and when I'm home, I've been trying to keep up with my gardening. I've done dozens of jars of toma... Wed, 31 Aug 2011 11:07:26 EST Great cruise, then sad news :( http://www.sparkpeople.com/mypage_public_journal_individual.asp?blog_id=4434511 I'm finally home! We had a great 7-day cruise, and 4 day Denali trip planned, but had to cut it short after the cruise, because my dad passed away last Thursday, so we came home after the cruise to be with my family for the rest of our allotted "vacation" time. We were stuck on the ship, at sea, for 2 days after the call, hard to enjoy after the news, and kind of a sad ending, but things will be fine. Pam Thu, 18 Aug 2011 10:47:47 EST More sun!!!!! http://www.sparkpeople.com/mypage_public_journal_individual.asp?blog_id=4242162 I've been doing pretty well with the calorie counting, but had a hard time with 6 graduation parties the last 2 weekends. Ugh! That's over, the sun was out again today, and gardening is in full swing, so I'm getting a lot more exercise doing that. I LOVE it when the spark tells me if I consistently burn too many calories, I need to eat more. 4 I started building a garden arbor today, and got half done. Have the sides ready to cement in, maybe tomorrow. Rock on!!!! Wed, 18 May 2011 22:25:15 EST
