It's another chilly and sunny morning in the Twin Cities. I decided that Mat Pilates wasn't what I wanted to do this AM, so I tried another elliptical machine (that's at least three unique machines that I've found) at the Y. It's a bummer, but I know I'll get there. That would be a good goal for next weekend? Instead I went and ran on the elliptical for 30 minutes, came home and got The Hubster for the VisionWalk.

With all due respect to those of us in warmer / more temperate climates, it was the perfect day in Minneapolis. I stayed up too late (thank you, Detroit Lions, for consistently looking lousy on national television; grrr!) and had a glass of wine with dinner that I didn't need. It's been a long week and I'm ready to get busy.

Ever since September got underway – and I blame the 30-Day Blog Challenge for some of this – I’ve been thinking about my health and fitness. Today The Hubster and I are going to Greek Fest. Usually we walk all the way there and back, which provides a lot of fitness minutes for both of us. I told myself that I wasn't going to get worked up about the score. Like my own healthy goals, I'm about consistency this season. I just want to roll a score that my teammates and I can count on. Looking back, I can see that we've been up to a lot.

In short:

Patrick completed his MBA and is on the job hunt
Work is... well, I'm keeping my eyes open, too.
Mom's visit came and went. We had a great time.
Patrick and I visited Seattle and Portland and ate our weight in seafood.

492
(Yes, we even saw the 'fish toss' at the Pike Street Market.)
<B... Sun, 15 Jul 2012 11:01:22 EST Overdue and Long-ish http://www.sparkpeople.com/mypage_public_journal_individual.asp?blog_id=4858784 April - Come and nearly gone; whoa. That alone should tell me that I'm not in my rightful place. I've had my bike out exactly once and the weight is creeping in. My clothes hurt and the energy level is in the basement.

Sounds like a real fun party, doesn't it?
24

I could provide a list of excuses, but it doesn't matter today. Today is the day that I treat myself like a fit, healthy person. No more pity party; it's time to reclaim my health.
<BR... Mon, 30 Apr 2012 08:13:44 EST Sweater - DONE (*waves to MRSSCHENCK*) http://www.sparkpeople.com/mypage_public_journal_individual.asp?blog_id=4769732 My first sweater is finished. The first photo shows the color more truly (I do not claim to be a photographer). No modeled shots because, sadly, it does not fit well. My tension changed over the course of the project (knitters / crocheters will understand, I can elaborate if necessary). Suffice to say the stitches became a bit bigger, so one side of the project grew. I'm fairly certain that it would have fit perfectly if tension had been maintained.

But it's done. The pattern... Sun, 4 Mar 2012 09:30:23 EST Checking in after a busy weekend http://www.sparkpeople.com/mypage_public_journal_individual.asp?blog_id=4736329 Hello, SparkFriends -

I'm not much of a blogger, admittedly, but I wanted to provide a short update.

Work has been stressful and I've not dealt with it as constructively as I could. That's changing for me and I feel as if I'm closer to "on track," whatever that is. My eating has been fine, but my time and energy for working out has been waning.

Craft-wise I've been busy working on my first sweater. I'll share pictures when it looks more like a sweater and l... Mon, 13 Feb 2012 08:36:00 EST My Walk and a Project http://www.sparkpeople.com/mypage_public_journal_individual.asp?blog_id=4680298 Hi SparkFriends!

Just putting up a little something to let you know how things are going. I'm not working out as much as I'd like. I am trying to be mindful about my eating. Sleep is a bit of a challenge, and I'm blaming work stress for that. Next week will be crazy, so I'm using this holiday weekend to rest up and recharge.

I didn't send holiday cards this year. Once upon a time I'd send out 100+; all hand-addressed and hand-signed with a thought or two. It was a ... I made a similar ornament for the neighbor years ago, and she wears it like a pendant at the family holiday party (which I am always invited to attend). The sister asked if she might have one as well, so this is for her.

This image shows the scale, using a lunch plate and toothpicks (my secret weapons, LOL!):

This i... This comes out of my pocket - no paid time off for me - so you KNOW that I was going to make it worthwhile!

Monday:

Started with a walk to the pet food place on a lovely, sunny day (see my previous blog entry for a pretty picture that I took along the way).

I spent the remainder of the day staying quiet, for the benefit of my 'student.' I cleared out the coat c... It's the garden shed in Loring Park; love the vines that are trying to claim the walls! Wed, 9 Nov 2011 17:57:11 EST I landed the new assignment! http://www.sparkpeople.com/mypage_public_journal_individual.asp?blog_id=4568663 Howdy SparkFriends!

I had a quick work day (which is the way the "last days" tend to go), including lunch with a number of co-workers and an interview for the next assignment.

The interview went well. I knew things were looking up when the interviewer and I clicked on being fans of the Detroit Lions.

281

I got back to the office, sent a heart-felt 304 to my co-workers and waved good-bye. It's hard, but I tend to find a way to... I hope that you are enjoying the day and making the most of every minute!

Today is my last day on my assignment and it feels great to know that change is coming. I have an interview today and I *just* learned about a new opportunity that would be a great chance for me to use my graduate degree.

Isn't that the way it goes sometimes; feast or famine.

426

The workouts are happening and I'm feeling the difference...
