COCOSMOMMA's SparkPeople Blog COCOSMOMMA's Blog on SparkPeople, home of free diet plans and a healthy living community Hi guys... So i posted on the community feed but this is a little more of what happened. I have depression. I've had it off and on since having kids but I was "officially diagnosed" in 2010. This past year, I have done really good and went completely off of my medication as well as my anxiety medication. Well, my depression started coming back around April. On May 26th, something happened that was very traumatic that involved me having to take out a protective order out on 1 of my siblings. As some of y... Sun, 9 Jul 2017 18:03:09 EST Hey Y'all! Long time no blog :D It's been a while since I blogged on here. I've been staying active on a couple of teams but for some reason I can never stay active on blogging.
I'm doing a Biggest Loser team on here and so far I've gotten back down to 247. Now I'm determined to break that. That is the number that I keep getting to and then I get stuck, gain a couple of pounds and then get back to that number and then I get stuck all over again.
Not this week. I don't care if I get to 246 on my weigh in day, 247... Sun, 8 Jan 2017 15:36:29 EST Still Chugging Along! Im still chug chug chuggin along! My birthday is 11/14 so my goal is to be 245. I may not make that goal but Im okay with that. Im making slow progress and as long as I am making some kind of progress, I am happy. I am not staying in the same spot.
I have started planning my days so that I make sure that I get my walk in. I even got Shawn to start walking with me. Lots of fun Fall activities with my kids! Lots and lots and lots of activities this October! I have been trying to make more of an effort to spend more time with my kids since my job is tedious and my hours are wonky and weird. Chloe got done with her volleyball season and is now trying out for the Sentinel position with her school's FFA club and she's trying out for the school cheerleading squad. She still dances on Monday nights as well. Noah and Eli both are playing soccer on Mondays and Wednesdays and they still take Tae Kwon Do ... Sun, 30 Oct 2016 00:02:56 EST Blogging again :) I need to start my blogging again :)
Since the last one, I had a great Dr's appointment and she didn't want to see me back until October 3rd.
My daughter, who is turning 11 on the 24th and is heading to the middle school for the 6th grade, made her middle school volleyball team. She is enjoying it so much and this is her 1st year playing.
My job is ok...lots of not nice things going on but I am just trying to keep my head up and go in and do my job.
The kids are almost ... Thu, 11 Aug 2016 21:10:08 EST Day 5 Woke up at 6am, got ready for work. I checked my fasting sugar which was 125...wayyyyy better than yesterday's! Ran through the drive thru at McDonalds for breakfast and got a breakfast burrito and a diet coke. Shawn dropped me off at work at 7. My store doesn't open until 8 but we both had to be at work at the same time and with one car, we make it work. I sat underneath the eave on my door at work until someone got there to let me in. I worked from 8am to 7 pm. I had a granola bar for a sna... Fri, 29 Jul 2016 21:44:00 EST Day 4 Today when I got up, my fasting sugar was 191...oh those consequences! I ran Shawn to work and then the kids and I went to the track. There is a grassy area that the kids can play with their soccer ball so Chloe said she would do that with them. I got 1 lap in and the next thing I know, Gabriel dropped his pants and proceeds the pee on the grass (he's 4 and special needs...he has Hirschsprungs Disease and is about 8 months-1 year behind). SOoooo, I packed the kids up and dropped them off at m... Thu, 28 Jul 2016 19:31:24 EST Day 3... I bombed...Like shamefully bombed, like what was I thinking bombed! I checked my fasting sugar which was 125, not too shabby :) I ate corn pops and 2% milk. I had to be at work at 1:30 so I started getting ready at 12:45 and I packed my lunch of yogurt today (I just cant eat in the makes me ill), only to get to work and realize I dont get a lunch today because I work less than 8 hours today. Tue, 26 Jul 2016 20:57:10 EST Day 1 of every day blogging I got up this morning and cleaned up a little, did a little laundry, making sure to check my fasting blood sugar. It was 121 this morning. Way closer to my goal of 120 per my Dr. I ate a balanced break with white cheddar cheese, dried cranberries, and almonds and a diet Dr. Pepper. Then got ready for work. I had to work the drive thru today and it was hot as hades...I took metformin this morning so I got a little sick but I pushed on. I got off at 9pm. On my break I had a light Yoplait orange... Mon, 25 Jul 2016 22:35:16 EST Took 5 kids to the lake and almost only came home with 3...(Emotional Trigger) Life is fragile and today I was reminded of that as my 2 oldest boys almost drowned. I took my kids to our new swimming spot and they were playing as normal in what we thought was the same area as they did last week not realizing there was a ledge. I was sitting in my chair drying off and every so often I would count "there's 1 2 3 4 5". I then saw what I thought was Noah and Eli play fighting in the water and Noah's head was under water. So I walked to the edge to yell at Eli to let his brot... Fri, 15 Jul 2016 22:46:29 EST Week of July 4th I havent been keeping up with my blogs very well :( I found out on July 1st that I am being treated like a Type 2 Diabetes patient because my Dr found sugar in my urine and then my A1C hasnt changed since last August. Today, I went to work and learned how to do the drive thru with insurance...hectic but fun!
I came home and rested my feet for about an hour and then picked up part of the house. The goal was to get the attic done but I decided to deep clean my house tonight and Chloe and I will do the attic tomorrow.
After the kids got home from school, we took them all outside for about an hour. Tue, 24 May 2016 23:29:50 EST Intimidation and anxiety I started my new job last Saturday. Needless to say, I am overwhelmed and extremely intimidated. I worked Wednesday night and I thought I would be okay but my anxiety just keeps getting worse and worse and worse. I am terrified of my manager, and from what other people are telling me, it doesn't get better and she's like this to EVERYONE...Tomorrow I work 8-6 so I am going to be having some prayer time tonight before I head to bed. I did have a friend come over that did what I was hired to do... I rode Ricochet as a chaperone for 1 of Chloe's dance buddies who was just a few centimeters short to ride (Chloe's very 1st roller coaster), then Chloe rode the bumper cars, then I got miss Chloe on the ANACONDA! Bless her heart, when she came off of it, she had a red mark acro... Sat, 9 Apr 2016 23:22:43 EST What a busy Thursday! glad its bed time! Wed, 30 Mar 2016 20:20:31 EST I BEAT VULVAR CANCER!!!!! So its been almost 1 month since I had surgery on 3/1 to remove the cancer. I went on 3/17 for a check up and my oncologist was able to get it all! My pathology report came back that I am now CANCER FREE! Go me! I have to go back on the 11th to get a check up on my incision and then after that, I have to come back once every 6 months for 2 years! I am getting involved with Relay for Life. It is my duty to make women aware of Vulvar Cancer. It doesn't just happen to older women in their 60's..... Mon, 28 Mar 2016 04:40:34 EST Beating Vulvar Cancer One Day At a Time! On 2/9, I got my diagnosis and on 2/17, I met my oncologist. I had surgery on 3/1. I had a partial vulvectomy. So now we just wait until 3/16 when I go back to my post op appointment. I am on 2 weeks of bed rest due to the nature of the surgery and it having to be put back together with glue instead of stitches. On 3/16, we'll find out if my oncologist was able to get it all or if I have to endure more surgery and chemotherapy. I am ALIVE so that is an amazing thing. Thu, 3 Mar 2016 18:48:32 EST That Phone Call that I didn't want to receive Today, I received the phone call that I didn't want to receive...that phone call that just changed my future drastically...that phone call that just turned mine and my families lives upside down. I listened to my dad break down on the phone...something I have never heard him do in all of my 32 years on earth. That man is so hard to break. I had to hear Shawn, my fella of 4 years and going on and off for 15, try to convince himself that I'm going to be alright on the phone...just repeating him... Tue, 9 Feb 2016 18:42:53 EST My sweet girl's 1st solo dance competition... My 10 year old, Chloe, has been dancing since the age of 3. She's been attending her current studio for the last 3 years and on their competition dance team for 2. Last year was her first year on the competition team so she just did the group dances and no solo. This year she wanted to do a solo and she chose the song "Stand in the Rain" by Superchi(c)k. Today was her first competition with her solo and let me tell you, she was UH-MAzING! She gave it everything she had and I was so incredibly... Sat, 6 Feb 2016 20:33:06 EST Busy a sick momma Yesterday, my ex husband got the text from my boys eye dr that their glasses were ready at 1:00. Soooo, I was in the middle of cleaning my house because I thought I had until 4 when they got off the bus. So I rushed and woke up Gabe and Amery from their naps, changed them, got them and myself dressed, rushed to Chloe's school and picked her up (in the middle of a benchmark test) and then rushed to the boys school to pick them up. We had to drive an hour to the eye dr in a different city since... Sat, 30 Jan 2016 20:02:13 EST Sometimes when we fall, we have to get right back up! I'm proud of myself today! Mon, 25 Jan 2016 13:54:17 EST My Day Today 1/24/16 Today marked the 16th anniversary of my grandfathers (my Pop) death. I was 17 years old when he passed and his death was very traumatic for myself, my sister, and my brother. My parents worked very hard (I would venture to say they were workaholics) so my grandparents raised us. My Pop was an amazing, good man who would give the shirt off his back just to make sure someone else was warm. He died at age 65 and his autopsy report was long from the health problems and diseases that he had (heart... Sun, 24 Jan 2016 20:06:13 EST SNOW DAY! Yesterday we started getting snow. The kids schools had already canceled school on Thursday night due to the incoming inclement weather. It was nice...The kids and I cleaned up the house, watched Frozen, made paper snowflakes, and just spent time with each other. Sat, 23 Jan 2016 19:45:03 EST Woot Woot! I am back and ready to roll! Welp, I took a little break from sparkpeople because I was in a little bit of a dark place. Work got me down and just in to a place that I didn't want to be. I was heartbroken because with my schedule, I could no longer be with my children full time and watch them grow and when I was home, I was so busy cleaning and trying to play catch up that I still didn't have time to spend with them and then I was just plain exhausted! I have NEVER missed a single event at school or during the extra curr... Mon, 22 Sep 2014 00:11:50 EST August is going to be a busy month... July has been a bust as far as working out...My manager has had me working 7 days straight several times and though I need the hours, I am exhausted! So my new goal is while I am getting the kids ready to go back to school in September, I am going to try to lose 5lbs. Starting it off slow...Slow and steady wins the race!
I have 3 birthdays in the month of August so we are throwing 1 big party on the 23rd for Eli turning 6 on the 1st, Chloe turning 9 on the 24th, and Amery turning 1 on t... Yesterday was my first 5k...the Color Me Rad in Doswell, VA.
I got up at 4am and got ready, left my house at 4:30 and was at Kings Dominion at 6. My friend, Jamie, her husband, Kim, and their little man, Ben, met me there. We were in the last wave to go. I started out jogging for a couple of minutes but then I had a horrible pain in my foot so we had to walk. Jamie's watch said we did it in 43 mins but I think it was more like 50. The CMR doesn't do time so we had to do it on our own. M... Sun, 18 May 2014 10:13:55 EST Oh What A Week! My week started off very rough...Monday morning at 4am, Shawn woke up with chest pains that wouldn't go away. He took himself to the E.R. at 5am since I had to stay home with the kids. He ended up being admitted. Tuesday, they did a stress test. Because of his weight, he couldn't do the treadmill stress test so they did the dye injection with the injection to make his heart think he was on the treadmill. He had an allergic reaction and coded. No one called to let me know. I found out at 2pm w... Sat, 10 May 2014 12:27:34 EST My Weekly Plan So I have noticed since I started working a little over a month ago, that certain things are lacking...I'm always tired and my feet always hurt. I have decided that so that I keep the upkeep of my home up, homeschooling Eli, and make sure that I am budgeting my pay correctly that I need to just make a weekly plan of what needs to be done each day.

This will also help me make sure I get my walking in! Sun, 4 May 2014 15:52:13 EST Accepting Myself and the EffYourBeautyStandards campaign I have been following this beautiful plus size model known as Tess Munster. She is gorgeous! She is the spokesmodel for "eff your beauty standards".
Today as I shopped at walmart for a pair of khaki capris and a black polo for work, I realized that I am making myself depressed by worrying about what everyone else thinks about how I look. Today's society is all about your appearance...why? Beauty will get you nowhere if you are a horrible person. So I am wearing my size 3x capris and my s... Sat, 3 May 2014 11:59:03 EST My day off :) Today was my day off and as I blogged yesterday, I was going to have a busy day. In the morning I will get up early and get the rest of the house done (I am a clean freak and unfortunately, with starting work, my kids think I am a maid too and I cant clean the way that I want to anymore!). Well I guess I could get something done in the next hour o... Mon, 28 Apr 2014 22:53:54 EST My day Got up this morning and went to work...had to deal with a man chewing me out over something that my manager did but was able to just brush it off because, well, I had nothing to do with his problem. Got off work, ran to Walmart for laundry detergent, toilet paper, and the honey's ice cream. Came home and cooked spaghetti and meatballs with garlic bread for dinner. My older 3 came home from their dads and then gave the 2 younger babies a bath. Now I am in bed...I am going to clean my house fro... Sun, 27 Apr 2014 22:13:35 EST Going to try something different :) I am deciding to try something a little bit different. I have my alarm set for 5:15am. My plan is to get up and do a walking dvd or take my Snickers (my dog) for a walk around the neighborhood depending on the weather, then get the house clean for the day since I have to leave my home to go to work at 9am. That will give me time to love on my kids before school too.
I haven't been eating right or exercising like I should and even though I am on my feet a ton for work, I am gaining weigh... Tue, 8 Apr 2014 00:08:34 EST Changes... Well, I started a new job last week as the new assistant manager of a sports store located in the next town over. Its fun and I love it but...I'm way out of shape and my feet HURT! My poor heels on both feet are bruised all the way around and I have 4 blisters.

The weight loss and training for my 5k has come to a halt. So I need to get back in to that. Today I notice that I felt off again. I got diagnosed with depression in November 2010 and anxiety in the summer of 2009. I was given a prescription for Zoloft for the depression which I refused to take and Xanax. I only took the Xanax for a couple of months because I found out I was pregnant with my Gabriel (who is now 2). I haven't been back to the dr to discuss my depression.
I'm thinking that I might need to go. Today, I have felt sad, lonely, like I want to cry nonstop, grumpy, I do... Sat, 4 Jan 2014 21:35:57 EST My goals for the upcoming year :) I don't do resolutions...Every time I have, they turn in to something that I hate doing so I fail. So, I am doing goals...Goal is such a positive word and it makes me want to accomplish what I need to do to get to that word!
So here goes:
1. Drink more and more water until I reach my goal of 8 glasses a day and cut out most soda.

2. Walk at least 4-5 miles a week at first, and then walk more gradually as I go on.

3.
