CMWITTLIFF's SparkPeople Blog CMWITTLIFF's Blog on SparkPeople, home of free diet plans and a healthy living community 1st major goal reached! I have been trying to get below 300 lbs for over 20 years! Today was the official day! I know I am doing the work but I wouldn't be without my dietitian (who holds me accountable), my water aerobics instructors (that keep me moving), and my exercise buddy that gets me to the gym on a regular basis. Not to mention a group of friends that only want the best for me and not only are ther when the going gets tough but are equally there to share my joys.

Next goal is 270. My weight... Mon, 17 Sep 2012 17:51:22 EST Travel doesn't have to kill a diet plan Texas to Iowa to Delaware and back to Texas. Though my official weigh in is next Monday afternoon my scale shows a pound down. There were good choices and not so good choices but the good choices won out for the most part. For the first time I have understood the phrase "too rich". I finally know what everyone was talking about. I was surrounded by very supportive people through out my travels allowing me to have accountability without being judged for my choices. What great family and frie... Tue, 7 Aug 2012 20:55:00 EST The pay off DOWN 9 POUNDS! I stuck to my food plan, doubled my exercise, drank my water and the vacation weight fell off! I know how important the food plan is but exercise seems to be a bigger component for me. I will be making an extra effort to get some exercise in on this next trip. Mon, 16 Jul 2012 18:09:52 EST Recommitted Having been on vacation I was worried about getting back into my routine but those fears have turned out to be unfounded. Not sure why but I have been able to step right back into my diet program. I had decided to increase my exercise even before vacation and that is working well. I have learned not to depend on the scale. It is only a tool on this journey. I have another trip coming up in about 2 weeks but that really isn't a vacation in my mind. Will take my food with me and will be with v... Thu, 12 Jul 2012 15:20:08 EST Back in the saddle again! The week was difficult but I managed not to do too badly. Up 6 but I expect them to go quickly. I also changed my weigh in time from morning to afternoon. Stayed on my food regimen today and did 2 water aerobics classes. I knew I was adding more exercise before I went on vacation. The times I didn't make good food choices were few but the lack of exercise really took a toll. I am actually looking forward to next weeks weigh in. Tue, 10 Jul 2012 23:55:20 EST Vacation Fear Having been successful so far on my program I am facing this next week with fear. I know what the right choices are but will I make them? I know my activity level will be less but hopefully I can get some pool exercise in. I will be taking foods I need but the social situations will be challenging. I am going with the expectation of gaining a few pounds but I don't want it to be 10. Here's to making good choices. Fri, 29 Jun 2012 19:06:24 EST Hit the big 50! I haven't weighed this in 23 years! I actually only have 80 more to go. Just realized its less than 100! Going on vacation next week so It will be a tough week but I will do my best. Wed, 27 Jun 2012 17:49:35 EST How to measure success Sometimes it is the scale, sometimes it is clothing, sometimes it is the tape measure. For me tonight being able to shower and wash my hair without feeling like I couldn't stand another minute is success. Something so many people take for granted. While my knee does not seem to recognize my weight loss it is nice to realize other body parts are grateful. Thu, 14 Jun 2012 21:07:43 EST I feel like I am on The Biggest Loser! 8 pounds! 8! OMG! I doubled up on my exercise since I was up 3 due to vacation. That thing about exercise being the key for me is true. This keeps me 10 pounds ahead of my goal graph. SP makes keeping track of everything so easy! This is when I usually hit a wall but my mental state is great! Company this weekend but I am sticking to my plan. No excuses. Going for the success breeds success thing. Wed, 6 Jun 2012 20:59:51 EST You play you pay We went away over the holiday weekend and I learned 3 things about my weight loss journey. One, I must continue to exercise. Busy is not burning calories. Two, to keep my food on track I can not go out to eat. Three, Internet is required to keep using my food tracker. I was writing it down but it is not the same.

My solution to a 3 pound weight gain is to double up on my exercise this week. I did my water aerobics this morning and back for a second class tonight. I will go tomorr... Thu, 31 May 2012 20:50:35 EST Thank you exercise buddy! This was one of those days when I really didn't want to go work out. I know I need to. I know I feel better when I do. I know it is critical to losing weight. I know it is the only way to reach my goal. Still, I wanted to stay home and read. If someone had not been waiting for me to pick them up to get to the gym I wouldn't have burned those 500 plus calories. Thank you! Mon, 21 May 2012 13:29:44 EST
