CHUCKLETUSH's SparkPeople Blog CHUCKLETUSH's Blog on SparkPeople, home of free diet plans and a healthy living community Weighing Myself I have a problem well more a fixation, I have to weigh myself each morning, so I have made a decision that I will only weigh in at least once a week.

Awhile ago I was putting on weight and nothing I was doing could help. I was putting on 1kg a day and I couldn't workout why. I finally went to the doctor and told him my problem. I was diagnosed with Hashimotos Thyroiditis. I think ever since them I became almost a bit paranoid about putting on so much weight again, so I think ... Sun, 2 Jun 2013 00:37:20 EST Great Workout I had a great Circuit workout yesterday morning @ my gym.. I am feeling the benefits of it today..I can hardly move lmy legs. I winge about feeling sore but also love it as it means I have actually worked hard, so it is a good pain. 323 34 320
Sat, 25 May 2013 03:05:05 EST First Weigh In I did my first weight in this morning and I have lost 1.2kg. I am very happy with this and my goal was to lose at least 1kg a week. 244 goal achieved this week.

192 248 Fri, 24 May 2013 04:30:07 EST Back @ the Gym I have had a cold for the last couple of weeks, finally I got to do my Jog/Walk on Saturday morning and today is my first day back at the Gym for nearly two weeks. I did a circuit class, which is a bit of cardio and a bit of weights. I found it a bit of and effort today. I burnt 333 calories normally I would burn over 400 but I figure that is because I have been sick and will soon get back into the swing of things. 320 362 Sun, 19 May 2013 23:26:17 EST Day three I have had a cold for just over a week and couldn't exercise, so today finally got back into it, I did my 4km Jog/Walk this morning and it felt good to get back into it.
312
Sat, 18 May 2013 06:30:24 EST Day Two I had trouble getting on here to log my food. I have done it now and am keeping within my range.

I forgot how nice everyone is on Sparkpeople and all the encouragement you get. So thankyou everyone for all your encouragement it certainly helps.

304

My Goal this week is to lose at least 1 kg and to keep on tracking my food...

14/5/2013 - 93kg 192 Fri, 17 May 2013 03:56:49 EST Day One and getting back on Track Well yesterday was Day 1 of me going back to tracking my food. I forgot that it really is important to actually keep track of what you eat and also weigh things. I kept within my calorie limit and all other limits. 224
Last time I did track my food on here it was with the old version of the food tracker (it has been awhile), it used to take me ages, the new one is so much simpler and makes it so much easier and quicker.
Because I put in what I ate and what I had plann... Wed, 15 May 2013 22:48:37 EST Back Again I am back again and need to get back on track, especially with the tracking of my food, that is my biggest downfall. I don't have any problems with the exercise as I exercise 5 to 6 days a week either at the gym or walk/jogging. While I think I eat healthily I haven't been losing weight, so I really need to make myself log what I eat as it is so easy to add a snack here and there and not actually realise you are eating more than you think. My problem with logging what I eat, is finding the... Tue, 14 May 2013 20:53:35 EST Back Again I have been very hit and miss with going onto sparkpeople and posting a Blog but I do check in and try and log my exercise. 326 I have been going to the new Boxing and Fitness Studio in Golden Grove and have taken up lots of different types of exercise that I never thought possible for me to do. My normal weekly exercise is Monday mornings I do 45 Mins of Boxing, Monday night is 45mins of Zumba, Tuesday morning is 45 mins of Punchfit, Tuesday night is 45 mins of Boxing, Wednesday ... Mon, 8 Oct 2012 01:38:40 EST Long Time No See Hi all, I havent been on my sparkpage for ages, I have popped in every now and then but haven't got round to doing much on this site. But I do tell everyone about it. I have introduced it to at least 2 new people over the last week or two which has made me get back on and check things out.

I am at a stalemate with my weight loss I put a bit on and then lose a bit then put it back on again.

I am back at the gym again and have been for just under a year. I don't thin... Thu, 5 Apr 2012 15:39:37 EST Sunday Morning Jog I was off to a good start this very chilly morning I did a 5km Walk/Jog, which took me 43 minutes, (which I am trying to get under 40 mins). I got back home and had a shower and had some breakfast, then my husband wanted to go for a walk, so I went with him which was about 2.3 km. My husband likes to go on this walk as there is a part of it where there are about 20 Magpies and we often take food for them to eat. It is really amazing, these birds are very intelligent and now when they see us... Sat, 9 Jul 2011 20:43:50 EST One month back at Gym Well I have been back at the gym now for a month, so I did my weigh in and measurements. My weight didn't go down but I lost 6.8cm, so that just go to show that it doesn't always show on the scales. I am determined to not only lose more cm this month but also to lose it in the kgs as well.

Sometimes when you look at the scales you get a bit depressed because there seems to be no change even though you are exercising and watching what you eat, so you think what is the point. But... Mon, 4 Jul 2011 20:34:12 EST Eating to your Blood Group I have been doing a bit of reading in regards to dieting according to your blood group. I am interested to see if it really works. I have found a site that has a table with all the different blood groups you can click on your blood group which will lead you to a page which then gives you details about what is good for you and what to avoid. You can then click on and get a chart with foods in different sections and this is also broken down to what are m... Thu, 30 Jun 2011 21:13:22 EST Back Again It has been quite awhile since I have been on SparkPeople, I have logged on every now and then, but haven't entered any fitness or nutrition, in fact I haven't been on the computer much at all. After an 18 month break I have gone back to the Gym (Healthy Inspirations) which is a 30 minute circuit. I missed the friends I made there and also the exercise. Mind you I still did exercise every day but I mainly did jogging whereas with the circuit, it works all parts of the body, so now that I a... Mon, 27 Jun 2011 23:25:43 EST 3rd April - What a Great Day!!!

Today has been a perfect day 67 beautiful blue sky and not a cloud to be seen the temperature is around 21C. Thanks to daylight saving ending I was up @ 6.30 and off on my walk/jog. Before daylight saving ended it was still dark @ 6.30am and I don't like to walk on my own when it is dark, as part of my walk is along a creek bed and it is a bit remote, so I like to be able to see if anything is lurkin... Sun, 3 Apr 2011 04:12:58 EST 31st March Haven't exercised today, not feeling well, I had the flu shot and I am not sure if I am having a reaction to it, but I have been getting pains in my stomach and have a headache, plus the usual red lump on my arm. I don't usually get a reaction apart from the red lump but I am told they changed the formula so maybe it doesn't agree with me. 2 Thu, 31 Mar 2011 00:50:15 EST Week 3 - 5km My Way Walk/Jog Today I tried my 5km My Way Walk Jog Route I intend to do for my race in a few of weeks. This is my first attempt at this route which is just over the 5km it is 5.05km. I have to walk to the start of this route so I count that was my warm up once I get to the start I started my Polar watch, I did this Route in 47.32 minutes and burnt 386 Calories. So now I have got my route worked out I will just have to better it. I only do this route once or twice a week and do shorter walks or treadmill ot... Sun, 27 Mar 2011 22:10:21 EST 5.58 walk/jog Well I have maped out about 4 different routes that I take, and today I thought I would do my long walk which is 5.58km. I do this walk quite a bit but I normally only walk it as that is a good workout as it is. If anybody knows the Greenwith, Golden Grove area it is very hilly lots of steep hills, and I am darned if I can find the other side of those hills that goes down. Anyway this morning I decided to get ready for my virtual race coming up in 5 weeks I would walk & jog it. Pheww!! I di... Sun, 20 Mar 2011 20:46:41 EST 5km Walk/Jog Virtual Race I Have signed up to do the 5Km Your way Walk Jog Program with a virtual race in April. So I am in training for that this is my first week of training. I did the treadmill this morning for 25mins and this afternoon I did a 3.7km Walk Jog which took me 39 mins and I burnt 311 calories. In about five weeks I will do the 5km Walk/Jog and record my time. So at the moment I am just working up to it. Only problem is around here it can be quite steep so that makes it a bit harder, great for burnin... Sat, 19 Mar 2011 03:30:12 EST Target I have been a bit slack in the exercise area in the last few weeks. Last week was not too bad I burnt 1797 calories and exercised a total of 5 hr 6min. My target for this week 1900 calories and 6 hours exercise. Not so much the time I exercise as I try and do a bit everyday but I think I need to put a bit more effort into it as I get a bit complacent with what I do, so I think I also need to mix it up a bit and get out of my comfort zone. 326 Sun, 13 Mar 2011 16:41:22 EST Early Start Morning all, it is 3.30am and I am up... My husband and I are off to a swapmeet at Campbelltown. Only trouble with this is it mucks up my routine, I have to have breakfast early and there is always the dreaded munchies when you start so early. So I am going to pack my own healthier munchies. I should be home by 2pm but then I will probably just vegg out as I will be worn out. 102 Sat, 5 Mar 2011 12:11:48 EST My Weakness One of the best things with Sparkpeople is their foodtracker not only that I can add specific food that I eat. I have found that this can be an eye opener when you add in your own specic brand and type of food. Sometimes you find out something you knew was a bit naughty turns out to be a lot naughty once you actually break it down into all the groups you realise WOW that is really bad. Unfortunately it is alway the really bad things that are the ones you like the most. My favourite and we... Mon, 14 Feb 2011 16:58:06 EST Stayng Focused I am finished the 28day Bootcamp Challenge..Yeh!! I am going to continue on here Logging my food and exercise. I haven't decided what my next challenge will be, besides the challenge of continuing to lose weight and cm's. I find coming on here and making blogs and also recording my fitness and nutrition is keeping me focused on what I am trying to achieve. "I CAN DO IT" 30 Tue, 8 Feb 2011 00:45:49 EST The Results Just weighed in and have lost a total of 3.5kg over the 28 day Challenge. All measurements are down also except my neck that stayed the same. Am happy with that the only way is down.
224

Weekly exercise total 5.57 hours and 1603 calories burned. That is only what I record using my Polar watch.
321 Sun, 6 Feb 2011 14:02:04 EST Day 28 Last day, tomorrow I weigh in. I am confident that I have lost more weight I feel like my clothes are a bit looser. So am looking forward to tomorrow. 283

This is such a great site, I have told most of my friends but they are yet to try. This site gives you most of the tools to get fit and loose weight 252 Not only that the encouragement you receive from people is truely wonderful. Thankyou Sparkies 304 Sat, 5 Feb 2011 18:50:15 EST Day 27 Only 2 days to go.... Up early and walked to the Village shopping centre which is about 5km as I was meeting up with a few of the girls I know from the Healthy Inspiration gym that I used to go to. We had a coffee and a chat. Was nice to catch up with them again, that is one of the things I miss about not going to the gym anymore. 271 Fri, 4 Feb 2011 20:28:17 EST Day 26 Went for a walk / Jog for 71 mins, I didn't leave until 6.50am and already it was hot and muggy so it was a hard slog this morning, I normally leave 30 mins earlier and it is very pleasant normally before the sun kicks in. 198 Thu, 3 Feb 2011 18:16:00 EST Day 25 No walk today got sidetracked with the stuff happening in Queensland and ran out of time this morning as I had to go to work, still did the 15 min ball, and I will try and at least do 20 min on the treadmill when I get home tonight.

125 Wed, 2 Feb 2011 20:05:53 EST Day 24 Only 4 days to go. It has flown by. Today I went for 30 min walk, then did 2 x 10 dvds. Feeling good Wed, 2 Feb 2011 00:53:58 EST Day 23 All good, lost that 100gm I put on so last week I broke even. Exercise last week was 6hours and 50 min burnt 1953 calories. That is just what I record on my Polar watch. Today I am back on track I got up early and did my usual 60 min walk then the spark ball video.

311 319

“The best inspiration is not to outdo others, but to outdo ourselves.” Tue, 1 Feb 2011 01:30:37 EST Day 22 This is a bad day for me, first off we woke up in the middle of the night and the power was out, we ok that is probably been the heat as it was 42 here yesterday. We got up around 5am and the power was out, so I thought I would check our fuse box and yes something had tripped it. We unplugged everything except the fridge and switched back on, tripped again. Great the fridge had died, so we had to go out first thing and buy a new fridge as it was going to be over 40 here again today. Fridge ... Sun, 30 Jan 2011 23:09:31 EST Day 21 I am posting 2 blogs today as I forgot to post mine yesterday. Up early and went for a 60 min walk/jog. I really enjoy them as I have my music and just go. I always try and burn at least 400cal when I do this walk. One of the best presents my husband has given me is my Polar Watch. I use it every day so I can keep track of my heartrate and calories burnt. This morning I had Cereal for breakfast, I forgot how much I enjoyed it and how filling it is. Tomorrow is weigh in day so I am dread... Sun, 30 Jan 2011 00:41:10 EST Day 20 I was up early and did 3 x 10 min videos. That was all. I have decided I need to mix things up a bit especially in my eating. I normally eat the same thing for breakfast and lunch. So Now I will change it a bit 274 Sun, 30 Jan 2011 00:34:57 EST Day 19 Up early and went for a 30 minute walk with my husband. Been out and had a haircut and boy does that feel so much better. It was well overdue!! 81 Thu, 27 Jan 2011 20:55:34 EST Day 18
315
I was up early and did my treadmill for 20 mins then a Zumba dvd I will try and do some extra exercises when I get home from work. Wed, 26 Jan 2011 19:48:12 EST Day 17 - Australia Day What a wonderful day not too hot... perfect for Australia Day.
Went for 30 min walk with my husband then I did Zumba video (still trying to get the hang of it). We have been to Playford City Council Australia Day celebrations. We have been going there since it began 4years ago. This year they had nowhere near as many of the older cars only around 30 compared to over 200 for their first one. They have a free breakfast which has always been bacon & egg on bread, they had the same this y... Tue, 25 Jan 2011 21:39:58 EST Day 16 More than half way through the challenge. This morning was only my short walk 30 mins as I have to go to work. 311

"Successful people do what unsuccessful people don't dare." Mon, 24 Jan 2011 22:00:07 EST Week 3 - Day 15 Today is weigh in day. Lost 800gm was hoping for more but all my measurements are down. Also I didn't exercise as much this week as I had a few appointments which cut down my exercise time. Exercised a total of 5 hours whereas the week before was 7 hours and 40 min. But the main thing was I DID exercise and I kept my calories within the limit. This week I will be able to do more.... Total lost so far is 2.7kg so that is great!!! 244

67 "When the sun comes up... Sun, 23 Jan 2011 17:09:54 EST Day 14 Up early to go to Brighton Market, so exercising in the afternoon, which I find harder to do than first thing in the morning. Am very tired as I got up at 3.30am, will be an extra early night tonight. Tomorrow is weigh in day 179

40

“The best inspiration is not to outdo others, but to outdo ourselves.” Sat, 22 Jan 2011 23:51:22 EST Day 13 Going good, feeling good. It is the weekend so slept in. I usually like to get my workout done before 7am. But doesn't matter if I do it later as long as I do it. Trying the Chicken & Broccoli Casserole for tea tonight. 67 Yesterday had lunch with a friend and went to Fasta Pasta, only had the Entre size and kept within my calorie allowance, so am pleased with that.

200

"Some days you're the dog. Some days you're the hydrant." Fri, 21 Jan 2011 21:34:41 EST Day 12 Just a light workout this morning as I can't eat or drink till after my tests so just did 20 Minute Dumbell and 10 Minute Cardio Video.

137

"When thoughts become action, success is attainable."
Thu, 20 Jan 2011 16:06:17 EST Day 11 I am feeling good and am keeping on track with eating and exercising. Interesting looking at what you eat and the break down of it as well makes you rethink some of your choices of what you eat. This morning exercise was the treadmill 315 and then the Spark 15min ball workout 319 I prefer to exercise in the morning and have difficulty exercising in the afternoon. Maybe that is something I need to do, make myself do a little at night as well.

"Shoot for the ... Wed, 19 Jan 2011 14:51:10 EST Day 10 Day 10 all still going well

676

David Viscott
"You must begin to think of yourself as becoming the person you want to be." Tue, 18 Jan 2011 23:46:46 EST Day 9 Went over my calorie allowance yesterday, had a Blueberry muffin 475 Today I am back on track, did a 70 min walk then the Spark 15 min Ball workout X 2. Funny things that you think are healthy but when you actually track them you realise just what they have in them and how many calories they have and are not as healthy as you thought. So I think if I am going to have a muffin I will only have half, that will satisfy the craving and I will only have half the calories. 148</e... Mon, 17 Jan 2011 19:52:31 EST Day 8 Weighed in and had lost 1.9kg over the last week. Just imagine if I didn't eat those Butternut Snap Cookies. Over the last week I have burnt 2125 Calories while exercising and had put in over 7 hours of exercising. My measurements are all down too.
244 I will do better this week now I have set something to better. I am going to aim for at least 2300 Calories. 321

"Do not wait for your ship to come in - swim out to it" Mon, 17 Jan 2011 00:55:29 EST Day 7 Not a good day today, had to get up really early and go to a swapmeet with my husband, when I got home I had a bit of a blow out with my food, darn Butternut Snap Cookies. One, just wasn't enough. 495 Tomorrow I will weigh in so I hope those naughty cookies don't hurt too much.

198

"When you come to a roadblock, take a detour."
Sat, 15 Jan 2011 23:45:45 EST Day 6 Feeling good and am pleased with myself, as I am sticking to my diet and keeping within my calories. 491 267 301 277

"To accomplish great things, we must not only act, but also dream, not only plan, but also believe." Fri, 14 Jan 2011 19:49:04 EST Day 5 One of the best present my husband ever gave me was my Polar watch. It is a great tool for when you are trying to lose weight or even just to get fitter as it gives you a better idea of how many calories you are burning and also lets you see your heartrate. I like to set a goal of how many calories I will burn when doing certain exercises. I use it when I go on my walks. When I do my 60 min walk I have found that if I add a little bit of jogging I can burn an extra 100 calories. I walk a... Thu, 13 Jan 2011 22:16:29 EST Day 4 30 minute walk this morning then Day 4 Spark Video x 2. I have allowed my poor choices in food to make me stack on the weight. Doesn't help when my husband loves fresh bread and that is a big no no for me, but it is so hard to resist just the smell gets my mouth watering, I have tried just one slice but it never ends up that way. So for me NO bread until I lose at least 10kg and then only in moderation..... That is the hard bit in moderation, I always think well just one more slice I just n... Wed, 12 Jan 2011 18:44:43 EST DAY 3 All going well = 30 min walk then Spark video. Keeping track of food eaten which is my main downfall. Don't have a problem exercising just what goes into my mouth. More poor choices than overeating and by keeping track I can keep an eye on what my calorie intake is.

321

"Instead of giving myself reasons why I can't, I give myself reasons why I can."
